The security guy was polite and you said your good byes and you turn around and start again. You claim you find law enforcement so mean but it's really you.
Ridley report is bullshit, this is yet another failed walter mitty who dreamed of being an Investigative reporter and couldn't even get hired by anyone desperate enough to hire a w*nker like Ridley.
WTF klaptongroovemaster you want to suck this guy off or what. Check out his profile on his other sites he is promoting. I am exercising my free speach so go fcuk yourself Klapmaster more like Crabs-Master, lol.
Telling the guard that you have been in the state houde 1000's of times doesn't really matter. He may have been the "new guy" fresh out of training and is following the rules because he was told too. Assume you will be searched any time you go into a gov't building. Any time you aren't is most likely a fluke and a breach of one procedure or another.

Not in the New Hampshire state house. There aren't even metal detectors and the lone guard can't even see you if you come into the back door.
You say in seveal of your videos that New Hampshire is more free then most states. From what I have seen the authorites like to get into peoples business quite a bit more then where I am at on the West Coast, Washington State. However we do have some pretty bad gun laws here. In that case you seem to have a much better situation.
Dave Ridley usually says in his videos that government people in NH are better than in most states, it's just that in NH government peoples behavior is reported on a lot more. I don't know if this is true or not, but is sounds plausible.
At least you guys are allowed to have guns in your courthouse. Here we can't and we got to deal with the arrogance of the security that only provide a false sense of security. These rent-a-cops like to feel like big shots.
He gave no reason for searching the backpack, so my only assumption is that he was checking for any valuables, casing you as a mark. I could be wrong but have reason to assume otherwise.
At least he didn't ask you for "your papers please?" But I'm sure that's up and coming. All in all, I think you handled that quite well. But if it were me personally, I would definitely want to follow up and confront the supervisor; and especially with the question: "what EXACTLY are you asking your employees to look for". You might remind him of the fourth amendment too.
I've talked to that guard before and he's a complete jerk. I tried to ask him for directions to a room once and he acted like I'd asked him to reschedule his dinner plans or something. He also mumbles so as to be barely audible.
They're looking for all of that seditious and lurid Free State literature that Dave tends to carry aound; and possibly his hidden Edge Ascension gear -- all in an effort to deter Dave from any ideas that he might have of scaling and storming the State House. ;)
+1. that was a good thing to do, as far as i'm concerned. especially when you can get it recorded. of course, that can pose it's own problems especially if you're by your lonesome. luckily dave and others are out there with cameras, paving the way for what i suspect will be many many more on that front in time.

Seems to me your passive aggressive refusal to assist was worth volumes, and the more important point. a great tool.
He certainly thought long and hard on that .

This really IS bullshit. Why is the security guard not allowed to do his job just because it inconveniences Mr Ridley?
I bet Tim McVeigh had been in the Alfred P Murrah building "1000s of times" too...
He should try doing this shit in an airport and see what happens.

To my knowledge, he isn't trying to be "an investigative reporter." He's just a guy who cares about freedom.
So, why do you give a shit? If he sucks so much, don't watch him.

I think that the fact is that Dave videotapes everything.... if people videotaped things in WA...you might see similar things
