  • this is the best version of this song.

  • Btw this is a folk song, melody dates back to 18th century, it was about some brothel in England, and I think the best version is Bob Dylan's, sadly it's off youtube.

  • Dem cigars fuked up his voice lol, he could pull off the Robert Plant thing in '74, Bon>Brian for AC DC, but Geordie are awesome.

  • I want his voice now.

  • this, is fucking mother fucking awesome

  • @mycoolharmony I first heard Bon through my Dad, Bon is my personal favourite AC/DC singer, Brian is an amazing singer as well, don't get me wrong, but I personally think that Bon is better. I'm sorry about the spelling mistake, I wrote it on my iPod and iPod keyboards aren't that ggod

  • Listen to Frijid Pink doing this song. Its amazing.

  • I wanna fuck that voice.

  • Best number of Rising Sun ever, by Geordie. Vocals by Brian Johnson (now in AC/DC. Saw them live when I was 14 y old.

  • 8 people anything do not understand in this life =)

  • danm! That was fucking great!

  • Muy buena version. Al fin, despues de escuchar tanta mierda aparece una que es igual de copada que la de los Animals. Diferente, pero con esa polenta que te dan ganas de llorar

  • Oh, my God!

  • Very authentic performance! I think, this version sounds just like original old song should do.

  • Back in black. I hit the sack. Been too long I'm glad to be back.

  • I'm verry confused , is that the original , or the original is from "THE ANIMALS" ? I know it's a stupid question and i'm sure you people know the answer , hey I'm 14 I wasn't around back then , but I wish I was :)

  • @lee52844 It s not original. Really original is "The Animals".

  • @vladimirrusich actually its an old american folk song and the animals version wasnt original either.

  • @vladimirrusich The animals did not write this song, nor did they even record it first. Nobody knows who or when it was written.

  • @lee52844

Loads of bands have done this. Google it and you will find its origins. I personally like the Geordie and Frijid Pink versions. Much more interesting than The Animals version.

  • @lee52844 There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers:)Nobody really knows the origin of this song, there are several theories about it,just google the title, check and crosscheck the information you will find.Asking about these things here, leads only to argument and personal insults between strangers, and that is NOT what Rock is about!P.S Dont apologize your age,its nice that young dudes take an interest in music from the good old days!ROCK ON!!

  • @hacke1928 THNX dude you really helped,btw I'm a girl

  • @lee52844 Oh,i`m sorry "Dudesse";)!Didn`t mean`t to insult you!Remember to listen to music that you enjoy, and make your own opinion what`s good or bad, dont ever let friend`s or some musiclist`s tell you what`s "In",trust your own ear`s!

  • @hacke1928 Don't worry I hang out with guys , so I'm not insulted , and you're right 'bout the music . Keep on rockin' ,mate : )

  • @lee52844 Alan Price, the Keyboardist of The Animals has claimed that the song was originally a 16th century English folk song about a Soho brothel, and that English emigrants took the song to America where it was adapted to its later New Orleans setting, The oldest known existing recording of "House of The Rising Sun"..( at the time the song was originally known as "The Rising Sun Blues") is by Alger "Texas" Alexander, who recorded it in 1927 for Okeh Records.

  • @lee52844 no one know where the song is from, but it's an old song from new orleans

  • @lee52844 Original song is pretty old(like a 1800's ballad and nobody know the real original writer )

  • @Tenebrox92 The original is an ooooold slave song. Also, give a listen to Joan Baez' version...

  • @lee52844 It's really old, I don't think the original is known or even recorded, the earliest I think we've seen of it is around 1930s, it's almost unrecognisable to the later versions you hear of the animals and such. You'd be suprised just how many songs aren't by the 'original' artists you're told about.

  • The best performance over the last thirty years!!

  • Comment removed

  • Way better than acdc including the bon scott era. Absolutely destroys acdc. It's weird how the better more versatile bands often don't get the recognition that worse more basic bands do.

  • @hermygagala I don't personally think it's better than Bon Scott, I know this is probably the best dong Brian Johnson has sang in, but in my personal opinion I think that Bon Scott was a better singer.

  • @Dragonshouter Brian Johnson in Geordie is a far more technical vocalist, just listen to the deep notes in this, that is Brian. I am a vocalist and in my opinion I think that Brian is far more technical and versatile. In your opinion Bon Scotts tone was more likeable. That is what you meant.

  • @hermygagala OK, you do know better than me because I have no idea how to sing, I can only play bass and some brass instruments. Thank you.

  • amazing

  • Wow! Brian Johnson use to have a great voice, then he went to AC/DC...

  • @GuitarGage870 The fu*ks that supposed to mean? hows about you go fu*k yourself if thats your attitude!

  • @CotOnCamera How's about you calm the crap and stop being so freaking emotional like a little girl. Now go eat your ice cream and watch the notebook.

  • @GuitarGage870 You got somethin' to say to me? Cause you aint got nobody on your side you little prick

  • @CotOnCamera No, I don't call people names on the internet. Only little pussies that can't defend themselves do that. Go pick on someone in real life and get off the internet. Only pussies try to pick fights on the internet.

  • @GuitarGage870 You fuckin hypocrite, your the one pissin people on the internet off

  • @CotOnCamera You started it dummy! I just said I thought Brian Johnson had a good voice but when he joined AC/DC all he ever did is scream. Then you got all emotional like a little girl.

  • @GuitarGage870 I never got emotional, I said what needed to be said douche bag!

  • @CotOnCamera Dude, admit it, you got emotional! Don't sit there and tell me you weren't emotional, you've called me a douche bag, a fu**in hypocrite, a cu**, and a little prick. Sounds to me like you got pretty freaking emotional. Remember, anger is an emotion. We all get emotional from time to time genius. I gave my opinion and you responded like a 10 year old.

  • @GuitarGage870 you never gave no opinion all you gave was a smart ass comment and an insult!

  • @CotOnCamera It's "you never gave any opinion" genius. Haven't you ever taken English? What a disgrace! I gave my opinion, if it was insulting to you, I'm sorry. But seriously, you need to grow up a little and accept the fact that not everyone shares your opinion, and sometimes you're going to disagree with people, it's part of life. Deal with it!

  • @GuitarGage870 AWW just shut the fuck up, you really dont give up do you? Whatever if you really want to believe that your right go ahead but its not going to change the truth

  • @CotOnCamera It's you who won't give up, you're the one that jumped all over me for giving my opinion! No one will ever convince you that your opinion is not always the truth. You are a bitter, cussing, prideful, know it all that always thinks you're right. Just accept the fact that we both have different opinions and freaking let it go like a man. JEEZ!

  • @CotOnCamera How's about you calm the crap down and stop being so freaking emotional like a little girl. Now go eat your ice cream and watch the notebook.

  • But my Romeo is prettier.

  • Eric Burdon and Brian Johnson are both from Newcastle-

  • holly shh.... this is GEORGEOUS

  • TO you people who prefer BOn, just listen to this!!!

  • la mejor version de todas las miles que se hicieron!

  • solo and vokal soooo beatiful

  • . . this is the most beautiful, after that of the animals of course . .

  • Brian have a fucking awesome voice!!

  • Es EXPRTACULAR

  • Insane

  • WENA CONCHETUMARE!!!

  • I favor the animals version, but this one is great too, many a good version of this song

  • Brian Johnson is god.

  • @bigdall7465 You underestimate my 63-year-old Romeo:)

  • i love this song! i only wish they would have used the origional guitar intro

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC

    ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

  • One of my favorite songs ever.... and Brian Johnson's voice in this one gives me goosebumps

  • @DaveBucs20 mE; too. Wish, I could have hugged him back then.

  • :O brian johnson is actually singing instead of screaning

  • @cheeseclock1 Love my toon army Romeo.

  • thats best house of the rising sun<3

  • Зашибись

  • yes skymarques this is brian johnson

  • Greatest cover ever !

  • awesome song!!

  • this would fit well in a western

  • EXotic !

  • Is IT reallyy Brian, or is it Vic?

  • LISTEN TO THIS AMAZING TRACK & SHUT UP!

  • För djävla bra

  • Yeah, the BLACK ICE. "Romeo" GOT older.

  • Which world does Brian sing before "down"?

  • I saw Geordie in Sydney in about 1975, AC/DC was the support act. When Geordie sang this song some aboriginal bloke jumped on stage and sang this song better than Brian Johnson. I still remember it like it was last week instead of nearly 40 years ago.

  • Well actually Brian's voice didn't change. He just got old and could scream like he used to. Still sings good though.

  • I wonder how frustrating it must be for Brian Johnson not to be able to sing like this.

  • @srs7593 What makes you think, he cannot?

  • @johyle listening to his recent work.

  • @srs7593 He probably can, but this voice doesnt fit AC/DC as much as the way he sings now does. Thats why he changed his voice when he moved from Geordie, to AC/DC in 1980

  • @acdcgnr100 No, he is not able to sing like that anymore.

  • back in the day got to meet brian johnson when he was in geordie.. spent a few days with them hanging out i do remember picking brian up from a record store in london with his roadie who i was dating at the time. brian was so funny he really was such an awesome fun guy probably still is. I remember they were doing top of the pops i think the song cant do that.. yes yes good times on my trip to london in 73..

  • i never heard of this band...i heard about it for the first time on stern..brian was on the show!he said even though they had a couple hits he still installed windshields while the songs were doing good!!!!!..."had to feed the family"!!!

  • The guy on the right looks like Jimmy Page

  • @IncensePeppermints68 i'd say he looks more like Steve Perry (the former singer of Journey) but that's just me

  • Супер-Класс!

  • Pfft this is my favorite version so far...been trolling the variations - this is great!!

  • My favorite version of this song. It's the one with the most passion and meaning.

  • Usually song covers aren't as good as the original...but this is the rare exception. This is definitely the #1 version of this song.

  • This actually sounds better than the Animals

  • Im fed up of all the people saying how Brian can't sing, and how Bon is a million times better. The other guys in AC/DC only knew about Brian, because of Bon, who raved about Brian's vocals, when he seen him live with Geordie. If it hadn't been for Bon going on about how great Brian was, AC/DC wouldnt have known about him, and likely, he'd have never joined AC/DC. Im sure Bon himself would have thought Brian the perfect man to carry his torch with the band, and I do too. Brian is awesome!

  • lOVE your voice, Brain.

  • @johyle Brian.

  • @GranyCZ Mea culpa.

  • @johyle :)

  • @hammerman7777 If you were a true fan then you would not look at the miniature mistakes but look at the heart and soul AC/DC showed in ALL of their albums. Bon Scott or Brian Johnson their heart for their music never changed.

  • Legendary song.

  • Damn, this is good.

  • I did'nt know brian can sing like this. .

    . . awesome.

  • @zygphryd He can't sing like that, but he could in the 70ies... ;-)

  • @zygphryd By the way, you should check out this album - "Don't be fooled by the name". Geordie's best in my opinion (even better than their "Greatest hits"). Brian Johnson could really sing during those days! Listen to songs like Going down, Look at me, and Mercenary man with Geordie.

  • Comment removed

  • @zygphryd This man can sing any song he want... He has a stainless steel throat...

  • no words. Brian is a power.

  • wow, this is Brian?

  • I had never heard of Geordie until today got a heads up from someone else, they were great and I am sure that Brian Johnsons voice has taken its lumps over time but he can still rock and roll with the best of them.

  • @shanferg1

    indeed

  • @shanferg1 Did they leave one stanza out?

  • @johyle The only thing a gambler needs is his suitcase and his trunk. The only time he's satisfied is when he's on a drunk.

  • @srs7593 Exactly this one.b b

  • brian johnson rulz lml !!!!!

  • This band is from the same city as the Animals, no? And Johnson's voice is amazing on this. They also seem to be trying to revive the Gregorian chants that the Yardbirds were so fond of...

  • Every AC/Dc album up to For those about to rock is pure rock and roll (Back in Black probably the best rock album ever) but every album from these guys since suck and have almost tarnished their legendary status.

  • @hammerman7777 Arer you kidding me? every single one of their albums has been great, they are mostly under rated, for example, The Razors Edge is with out a doubt mmy favourite album. Ive NEVER heard an AC/DC song that i didnt love

  • @hammerman7777 bullshit bullshit bullshit all of the albums are greattt

ur an idiot for saying that

  • @bennnywan Idiot? You are acocksucker

  • @bennnywan shut up fanboy

  • @hammerman7777 For Those About to Rock is still pretty fantastic album.

  • omg i just can't believe that this is really brian's voice

  • is that brain at 0:53 ?

  • Lol for sure it's not the same voice than today :D

  • @spudman43 Angus knew about Brian through Bon As Bon had seen Brian & mentioned it to Angus that if anything happened to him Brian would make a good replacement. Hench the Back In Black album coming out so quick. They basically had a singer all lined up in case anything happened to Bon R I P

    Some along them lines anyway

  • I agree with gcharocks this performance " no tiene madre " . 10p

  • why doesn't brian sing like this in ac/dc?? it could be awesome (more)!!! anyway, nothing compares bon scott, but brian is quite good.....

  • he sounds like cheryl cole with tonsilitus bon scott best ever frontman they could never touch you bon

  • his voice isn't shot, it just changed with age. he sounds every bit as kick ass on Black Ice.

  • OK after reading some comments I've got to say. A lot of you are fucking idiots, Brian Johnson does everything BUT scream. His voice is amazing, one of the best ever. And this song just goes to show how versatile his voice is. So if you think he can't sing, fuck off and listen to Black Eyed Peas and 50 Cent and just leave REAL music alone

  • @stebarron one comment, i LOvE this music, and

GNR and everything, real music, but black eyed peas actually used to be good. ;) i HATE black eyed peas as they are now, but theye used to be good.

  • @kolumbs321 One of my most hated bands

  • @stebarron hes shit and a fat twat with a stupid hat

  • @spudman43 Wow. It's hard to imagine what occurrence of events would lead such a clueless, retarded, fuckwit to such an awesome video? Life's mysteries huh?

  • @stebarron ok but his hat is shit youve got to say, and he is a little bit fat ,and worst of all hes a fuckin geordie

  • @spudman43 His hat is to stop sweat from dripping into his eyes, he's nowhere near fat and what's wrong with being a Geordie eh? The only reason I could think of with someone having a problem with a Geordie is if they're a Southern cunt

  • @stebarron ok i love geordies really, that was a stupid comment sorry.im just a bon scott fan and dont give brian credit maybe cos he replaced bon and took alot of his credit, ive got a chip on my shoulder,in his own right brian is great sorry to offend anyone rip bon scott

  • @spudman43 I'm a Bon Scott fan as well and sorry but you're not an AC/DC fan. It's not as if Brian came in and pushed Bon out of the band. Bon died (Obviously) and AC/DC came to him, he didn't go to them. He deserves a lot of credit. Everyone thought AC/DC was finished when Bon died. Then to find someone like Brian Johnson was incredibly lucky and then for his first album Back In Black to go on and become the second highest selling album of all time is one hell of an accomplishment

  • @stebarron ok i did love back in black, but after that i didnt like them as much, but still loved angus and malcom but johnsons voice live shortly after the back in black tour was fucked but ye he did do well,i think he should of worn a wig instead of a flat cap maybe, only jokin wiv ya mate.he does deserve credit its not his fault bon died ,and he was probably the best replacement, but back in black was a roll on from the bands previos accomplishment not just down to him as the albums after showd

  • The best song ever..I dont beleve this guy is Brian Johnson.... crazy

  • @skymarques Its him all right

  • @skymarques Which one on the photo is him?

  • @johyle :

he s the one with the cap and the cigar

  • @MegaErding91 Thought so. Kinda Geordie Romeo:)

  • @skymarques Believe it. Other vids with him part of this band prove it. Look up She's A teaser by Geordie on Youtube.

  • Yeah. This is Brians first band from England before he join to AC/DC.

  • the one who sng is brian from acdc ???

  • @3M00RI yes

  • @3M00RI yA:

  • I don't wanna say much but this an great performance of Brian...

and any of you who really think he screams with AC/DC

you guys are just assholes... can you match that voice? I don't really think so...

Brian is a one of a kind singer so was Bon and most other rock legends from that era.

not like those sissy's these day's...

  • Great version, but so is Frijid pink's.

  • that was fuckin awsome better than the original

that guy cang sing. Have been a acdc fan since the late 70s that gave me goosebumps

  • that was fuckin awsome better than the original

  • Most underested band for guitars, bass, drums, singers, songwriters and most talented all together band ACϟ DC Should be a gramy for that somewhere??? Someone help me on this on please???

  • @vlad2112 yeah I know that now, I've become an ACDC nerd. I just got him and Bon confused. Which only makes sense cause he moved from Scotland to Australia(Bon) so yeah that's why, get it now? Also um this don't even sound like him. Weird.

  • @Zachhecrote14 There are parts that sound like he does in AC/DC. At 1:44 You get a bit of a taste of how he sings in AC/DC.

  • @mycoolharmony ACDC was recording their Australia only debut, High Voltage. Great album(of course with Bon Scott they had material earlier)

  • It has sucked my dick
