The Prince of Asturia doesn't speak English with a German accent; he speaks English with a British accent. In Spain, they are taught British, not American, English. The Spanish infantes are tutored in several languages during their youth. The entire Spanish Royal family speaks English.

I am glad that the Spanish Crown prince is not a Sex Mania like the Thai Crown prince. Everyone in Thailand knew about this but afraid to talk because of the Lese Majeste law that put people who talk about the Thai royal family dark side in jail for 15 years. In Thailand, we called the Thai Crown Sia O which means Playboy prince. He has many wives in the pass, including his own cousin. Wow his English is amazing. By amazing, I mean, well above the average for a Native English speaker. Very well suited to be a prince with the level of education he has behind him. Actually his accent sounds kind of Irish more than Spanish.

Queen Sofia's native language is English. She has stated that she always spoke English with her children. He was raised speaking English from birth. It's natural that his English should be excellent.

@viera1963 You're right. He does have an accept, but it's a Germanic accent.  I believe that he learned English from either a German or a Danish speaker just based on his rhythmic speaking, pronunciation and sentence formation.

@sfumato1002 I don't know why it so outlandish for HRH to have a Germanic accent. Queen Sofia is Danish, learned Danish and then English. I thought perhaps his excellent English is tinted with a Germanic Danish sound. My accent, by the way, is Middle Atlantic American.

Principally, the Queen may hail from the Greek Royal Family, but the family is Danish, speaks Danish, enjoys close relations with the Danish Royal Family and maintains a close ethnic identity. @prettyunicorn1 , In Spain we speak many languages, The prince is from the province of Asturias, besided castellano, in Asturias they speak asturianu. In Barcelona they speak catalan, in the basque country they speak euskera, and so on ....

Besides.....Irish are descendents of Celtics from Spain from the region of Asturias and Galicia. Read history.

I think everyone should have an education, including you.
