Best compliment about my game, "YOU SHOOT JUST LIKE RAY ALLEN." Little do they know, I purposely modeled my form after him practicing as a kid. And I highly recommend the up n coming to do the same. What perfected my shot I think was practicing day in and day out, but what laid out the bases in which I could take it to another level is my form. Not to mention, its very hard to block, so the short should take heed to this.

its just amazing how his form is always the exact same thing, what i notice about him is that his elbow is at head level when he shoots also i noticed how high his hand was when he followed through one thing that stood out was how high he jumped on his shot. this shot is the best to study if you want to learn a true, clean jumpshot

This video helped me so fucking much. It's incredible how much better I got shooting by watching this video that doesn't even have anyone talking.

I copied Ray exactly.

Bend my knees while holding the ball below my waist.

Jump while raising my elbow till it forms a 60degree angle (0:18)

Shoot the ball like he does but remember to flop your wrist when your elbow and arm make a 90degree/right angle (0:20) so it could create a spin on the ball.

I was mindblowned on how much this helped me.

@waneDX I don't believe much in technique. I believe in shooting in what you're comfortable with. I believe that the only reason why Allen can shoot is because he has very strong finger and wrist muscle. If you don't believe that strong fingers and a strong wrist can make you a better shooter and a ball handler, then I challenge you to partake in a finger and wrist strength program (gripping exercises, rice digging, basketball push ups, pull ups, etc).

@DramaBoy57 Actually proper form is one handed, watch a 3pt contest and pay attention to their hands, Ray Allen is a great shooter because of his aim with his eyes, elevation, and he's created a vector that makes his shot go straight. (Some of his shots are one handed though) BTW Ray Allen has spent 30 years perfecting his form.

Three things that make him a good shooter are:

- Ball is always on his fingers, not his palm.

- His shoulders are always square to the basket (one isn't higher/lower than the other)

- And lastly, he always releases his shot at the top of his jump which is extremely important. Even more so than his elevation.

theres a secret to all the great shooters in the NBA, i use it to, u release the ball with your index finger...watch closely kobe, ray allen, oj mayo and most of them do it...its a great technique...im a great shooter now
