  • these guys arent bad, and they dont need to by heavy to be good, but there is definitely a disconnect between the instrumentation and the vocals. the vocals are constitiently yelled, but the guitars are sort of standard indie rock with a bit of shoegazeyness.

  • not my cup of hipster tea. i dont think this is heavy at ALL for one...and it just sounds bad. I really could care less for hipsters and their little indie hipster bands. just sayin, dont hate

  • Big fan of this band and I know it's his thing but I always want to put a shirt on the singer. Not a good look buddy

  • The difference between Fucked Up and other indie-ish punk bands is that these guys are survivors of the underground. They've been together for 10 years, and a majority of their catalog is on tiny Canadian punk labels with shitty recording quality and incomprehensible lyrics. I hate it when punk purists diss this band for doing what so few hardcore bands do- EVOLVING.

  • how do you get the idea to do an indie band with an hardcore singer?

    it's awesome :D

  • Indie rock guitar riffs with a singer doing a bad impression of Henry Rollins does not a punk band make.

  • @kingasdo111 Who cares what genre it fits under. It's great music.

  • The lyrics to this song are unbelievable, and are just bolstered by the wave of sound coming from the band.

  • Frère DAMIAN ABRAHAM I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE MINR

  • It's about doing something you love. I guarantee you every member of the band loves their sound, and probably does not give a single fuck if you like it or not.

  • @trish7111 amen! And, I love it too.

  • @bigjohnny12345678 You've made a terrible, terrible life choice. God help you.

  • @brentwallac Lol'ed

  • look dickheads - i don't wanna see any criticism of this band. because the singer came up to me after the gig and gave me a big sweaty topless hug.

as a result, they can do no wrong in my mind.

  • What the fuck? That was actually good. 2 bests genres. Hardcore and shoegaze. I never thought I'd utter those 2 descriptions.

  • Saw them today, while covering one of their concert in Norway. Fucking epic! camera gear worth $8k at front row and in the pit; didn't give a fuck!

  • How far can music devolve? Let's just reduce it to one note next and replace the "lyrics" with rhythmic grunting.

  • @shoechew In what universe is Fucked Up devolved or simple? Listen to Year of the Pig, bro.

  • FUCKED UP PARTY IN MY TUMMY!!! (I wonder if anyone would get it hahaha)

  • Wow, 4 months on and I still have the top comment.

  • i saw these guys at soundwave 2011

when i saw the band members i thought

    "pfft more filty hipsters"

then the singer came out and spent the whole time in the crowd

was the best concert iv ever been to

  • Love the tune but the singer sounds shite...

  • @TheHearsz I once thought that way then I learned to like it. It makes them unique. ^^

  • @Radioluck - Cheers mate for the reply.. I just found out they are supporting the Foo Fighters on their Australian tour here in December so decided to see what they sounded like. I think I'll wait to see what they are like live, then make my final judgement as I have been proven wrong before! ;)

  • @jkfsu

    >hipster

    >rocker

    ...lol

  • J adore

  • how is this even heavy music? this is like a hipster and a rocker had an illegitimate retard child. this shit sucks.....

  • Every indie band sounds like Joy Division, I swear.

  • great music. worst name for a band ever

  • I would hardly call this a Hot Topic band. Who gives a motherFUCK if they're not as heavy as Converge? Fuck, barely anybody is as hard as Converge, who cares. I think the music is good and after hearing all of their shit, I would call them artists, not mindless boring modern punk rockers. Hot Topic? Please... This isn't fucking Good Charlotte, for fucks sake! And heavy music can take many different forms and can be art and not all sound like the same goddamn thing.

  • @telepathicat Damn straight.

  • @telepathicat Agreed man. It's no Bob Dylan or Miles Davis, either. Doesn't mean it doesn't fucking rock. I hate/feel sorry for people who need music to fit a tiny little slot in their ears. I'm personally proud to say that my country can turn out bands as rad as this. It's gotta make up for Nickelback.

  • Good band but with a singer fucked up unfortunately

  • @panvigocsc The singer's a vegan, is married, and has a daughter. I would hardly call that fucked up ahaha

  • @PlasticPowder vegan? he must eat a ton of beans and penuts, cuz dude is huge!

  • that guy is the white version of rick ross

  • That was fuckin horrible.

  • these guys suck

  • The most creative punk band since refused, LONG LIVE HARDCORE

  • Just another Hot Topic band. *sigh*

  • @Dak0taTh0mps0n Uh, no.

  • @Dak0taTh0mps0n are you SERIOUS!

  • The more fucked up the name, the more fucked up the band. Good job guys.

  • Put a shirt on.

  • This band is amazing live. Best 15 dollars I ever spent.

  • they put on great shows best i seen

  • Rather into baroque, discovered and LOVED the SOUND yesterday on France Musique.

Might sound stupid but I like the same feminine balance, added at 2:38, as heard in queen of hearts

  • Saw them the other night in NYC. It rocked and the singer is all over the place. Good show. Does anyone think he sounds like Jerry A from Poison Idea as much as I do?

  • this is what happens when the singer of a death metal band gets kicked out of his band and joins an indie punk band.which is awesome!

  • @NirvanaNerd364 This is what happens when hardcore punk evolves. Call it "post-hardcore" if you want, but it has nothing to do with Death Metal.

  • @berjenDreadfulHours hmm okay it just sounded like that to me but i get what you mean

  • You know a band is Fucked up when you know they name their band Fucked up.

  • These guys sound a lot like Band Of Susans, except with growly punk vocals.

  • huh

well 0:27 sruprised me a little...

  • just saw them at NXNE at Dundas Square in Toronto....fantastic set.

  • This isn't the kind of sound I'd expect from a band called "Fucked Up." I like that.

  • It was pretty good, until the 0:27 second mark.

  • @thatsocialistguy You don't enjoy screaming? It's not even that brutal, but still pretty good.

  • So, just saying this now, in normal words: I'm not really into these guys. But they're doing something interesting, even if it's not good. Remember when that was good? I forget that most kinds of heavy music scenes are really conservative. You guys don't like different any more. At the risk of some smartass calling Godwin's Law, ima say that you hate this sort of shit cos bands like this are diluting the gene pool of real hardcore.

  • This is... not good. At all. Dangerously bad.

  • @jessROCKify did you even diss the right person?

  • and to think i thought these guys were awful sounding like Cannibal Corpse.. they're actually pretty great. nice sound and vocals all together.

  • @ZIDBULA they sound nothing like Cannibal Corpse not even the vocals

  • @unholyjuggalo666 i know, i just hadn't checked them out ever before. i said i THOUGHT not i KNEW or anything that said for sure that they did.

  • so this is what John Goodman has been up to these days

  • @Superfission-you are obviously just picking words out a dictionary and posting them up, nobody gives a fuck what you have to say..idiot

  • @Superfission, @Reaper200038

Man, what is this horseshit! I don't like this music, because it is experimental, innovative, socially and culturally iconoclastic and transgressive OUTSIDE OF the rigid borders and limits of experiment, innovation, iconoclasm and transgression deemed acceptable within the proud and established traditions both punk and hardcore respectively!

    Wake up, you cunts.

  • @DeeTeeBR

    I'm love you.

  • chord progression from cheap trick's "surrender"? i think it is

  • all the pussies complaining about pink eyes' voice need to put a fucking sock in it.

  • Sir, please put your shirt back on. Oh while you are at it go ahead and write, play, sing, perform better music. That would be swell.

  • Great song.

  • 3:33 long "punk" song....ugh.

  • whats so hardcore about this?..this sounds like indie rock with a guy yelling over it.

  • you know your band sucks when your playing an epiphone

  • This is not hardcore...

you are all on a terrible, terrible trip if you think this is hardcore.

  • fucked up...

  • this is so fucking horrible....what the fuck is up with the hype and this band???

  • Sounds like a fucked up, new-age Jawbreaker.

  • music: great

    fat guy 'singing': HORRIBLE.

  • shite

  • 2:04

  • Reminds me of the band Hot Water Music.

  • @mike8903: i bet ur the kinda gay guy who doesn't hav the common courtesy to give a guy a reach around while ur fucking him in the ass. now thats fucked up..... oh yah and u suck cock like a vacuum

  • you guys fucked up....cause you suck

  • @mike8903 reeeeeeeeal clever

  • Great unexpected collision of so-called different styles that really, really works.

Damn I want to see them live....

  • Great unexpected collision of so-called different styles that really, really works.

Damn I want to see them live....

  • I wish the lead singer would shut the fuck up and the band just play their amazing riffs and such.

  • Yum!

  • The instrumental intro is bliss - the shoegaze guitars, chugging baseline and syncopated beat. Then the guy's guttural hardcore singing comes from out of nowhere and, in my opinion, completely spoils what could have been amazing. Don't get me wrong - I like some hardcore music - but it's so glaringly mismatched to the ethereal background its almost a joke. Fucked Up? No, they should be called What The Fuck!

  • they're in Newcastle tonight, wish I was fucking going

  • this is the worst band i have ever listened too...

  • shoegaze

  • Describing this band's style is difficult. Poppy hardcore? Fun hardcore? I don't know, but this music makes me feel warm and fuzzy and brutal all at the same time.

  • I'd like to hear more from this band, but the idea of googling "Fucked up" terrifies me.

  • @mikelazer1 pussy

  • Comment removed

  • @mikelazer1 pussy ...

  • @TheDejvak Yeah, someone already said that, calm down.

  • @mikelazer1 lol On that note, ask me how I got here...XD

  • @rndmfreAk I bet you searched for 'Crooked heads' didn't you, you sick person!

  • @mikelazer1

    Try to search:

"FUCKED UP! FUCKING CRAZY GUYS THAT I LOVE.

TOO MUCH DRUGS WILL KILL US.

    PEACE, BROTHERS AND SISTERS !

    PEACE , PEACE, PEACE !

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • @mikelazer1 They have a Facebook page and a Wikipedia.

  • @mikelazer1 search for "fucked up band" or "fucked up music" :)

  • like My Bloody Valentine meets Black Flag

    i fucking LOVE it

  • i just saw fucked up for $5 last night, holyshitpunx

  • I first came across them, when winamp released no epiphany for free download.man this is Fucked Up (in an awsome way of course)!

  • i came here because my friends band is opening for fucked up on the 29th pretty good

  • This band is amazing!!! I really love heavy music, but no ones making it this good. Fucked Up are in a league of there own. Other then this, I really dig the new Cobra -1234, and think its cool that Lemmy is in the new Foos vid.

  • @TanksterX dude this is not heavy music. check out converge. that's heavy music.

  • @TanksterX I would hardly call these guys "heavy music"

  • @TanksterX heavy?

  • I LOVE this band so much

  • the most tuneful punk music i think i've ever heard. sounds like black flag, springsteen and the pixies in a blender. that equals awesome, in case you were wondering.

  • The name says it all. Awesome...

  • saw them at perth soundwave and it was such a good performance, vocalist seemed like such a great dude.

  • I FUCKING MOSHED WITH THE SINGER AND GOT THE DRUMMERS DRUM STICKS TONIGHT <3

  • @SGKlD that was one awesome pit, was so great to mosh with him. hugged him so many times haha

  • @jamiephelan haha it was awesome how he got up in the crowd like that, not alot of frontmen woulda done that

  • This is more unique then I thought it would be

  • Don't listen to it if you don't like it. I don't understand comments professing dislike. Move along to something else.

  • Don't understand the hate.People who don't like this must not be a fan of the hardcore genre all-together. If it's not your thing, that's cool but there's no need to fill the comment board with hate. These guys are good at what they do.

  • i cant believe how shit this is

  • this is alright, It'll proably grow on me the more i listen

  • Feel sorry for these guys, going to a sound-wave music festival on the 26th. There on at the same time as Iron Maiden. Probably be the smallest gig they have ever done!

  • @junnybungle I regret not seeing them, i left after the bronx. I feel stupid.

  • @Nigeman You'd rather see them then Iron Maiden? Did you see how small the crowd was? I would of liked to know. Feel sorry for them though.

  • @junnybungle Yeah. Thing is I've seen Maiden before, and so I knew they were good, but by the time I got there I was too far back to really get any atmosphere from them.

I think Fucked up got a good crowd, not huge, but the Bronx frontman talked them up, and I would say for the small stage they were on they got a crowd that would have been standard for it, maybe even bigger. They may have been disheartened by the exodus of the Bronx crowd (which was massive),but a few hundred would have stayed

  • @Nigeman Ahh good then. Was my first time seeing Maiden. My favourite band since i was 10. Liturally had tears when i saw them come out. Haha such a fanboy i am.

  • This is not some commercial bullshit this is so FUCKED UP.......

  • Hidden World is one of the greatest punk rock albums ever made. It's lyrics are pure poetry and it's instrumentation is a loose cannon. oh..and The Chemistry of Common Life is pretty sick too.

  • Sorry, Fucked Up, but I'll stick with Refused, thanks.

  • @ZombicidalMan You can listen to more than one band you know??

  • @hotrain44 Uh... obviously. I'm just saying Refused is a hell of a lot better than this.

  • @ZombicidalMan

As much as I dig Refused, Refused are fucking dead. Get over yourself and embrace new music to the scene. Fucked Up is sick. If you want to debate and trash punk rock bands, talk shit about bubblegum-pop bullshit that is played all over the airwaves and is embraced by douchebag mall fiends and teenage girls whom attempt to put on an image to satisfy their insecurity, not Fucked Up.

  • @PELLOWHEAD Haha, I'm not going to get over anything, as I do embrace new music, to any genre, any style. And I'm not trying to debate punk bands, nor to start some comment war, I'm simply saying I think Refused is better than Fucked Up. And yeah, Refused are dead, unless those rumors are true (which, you know, they're not), but does that mean they can't be better? In my opinion, of course. And I'd rather not bash any music anyways, be it radio friendly pop punk, or death metal.

  • This shit is basically co-headlining Soundwave? Who is this? Why do they even have 100,000 views? I can point to 5 bands that have played at the local pub who make better music than this.

Fucking horrendous. Disappointed in Soundwave for letting these guys play at the same time as Iron Maiden.

  • I just saw the vocalist on the Space channel, and decided to check them out. Well I am thoroughly dissapointed and turned off of this band. Great job guys.

  • this is what is playing on the same stage after the likes of SLAYER, ROB ZOMBIE , DEVILDRIVER, ILL NINO & MURDERDOLLS!! who the fuck is this group? they sound like crap!

  • @PlaySV6 haha you massive tool

  • @PlaySV6 LOL

  • Fucked Up...Fuck Yeah!

  • this would be way way better without the yelling guy. loved the sound to start, then he came in and killed it.

  • definately fucked up music :L

  • Reminds me of Pixies for some reason...

  • @mydawg222 What, just cos he's fat and bald??? Cos they've got a female on bass?

I saw Pixies (again) live last year and Fucked Up as well. There was no comparison. But both put on awesome live shows. I don't own any FU cd''s (bought one for my brother) but would go and see them again for sure. Very entertaining. But not a patch on the Pixies!

  • @mydawg222

    Fat Francis Maybe???

  • not too sure i like this

  • Seein you guys at soundwave woo

  • wot a load of shit fort it was sumthing to do wit a fight

  • definately fucked up..

  • the clues in the title

  • don't know what to think of this haha

  • is gay

  • This is Fucked Up.

  • Loving this album and falling in love with this band. Reminds me of 'Poison Idea' mixed with indie-rock.

  • kind of new ..... strange but new scene

i like it thumbs up ..... crooked head 'bis''

  • glorious tune

  • Raining sunshine...spitting teeth!

  • @metzgerfanz nobody wants to be gg allin

  • I see these guys in Hoxton Suare, London in August, got a cuddle off pink eyes!!. Great band, great gig, great song.

  • Lmao this is probably the first band to play happy, pop sounding music to a hardcore punk/heavy metal guy.

  • @DontEatEggs666 Probably why they call themselves Fucked Up

  • Long live Fucked Up!

  • They should think in hiring another music arranger.

  • these guys were awesome i got a high five from the singer and he ws so cool!

  • after one listen i was unimpressed. somewhere in the middle of the third listen it grew on me. the visual is too good. gg allin meets cheesecake meets post-seagull ride.

  • i just saw them live at Dour, the singer was walking around in the crowd the entire concert, singing, hugging, shaking hands and stuff. One of the best gigs i ever saw

  • This band is ok but thats an opening riff Bob Mould would be totally proud of.

  • great!
