  • very true that all fires are different. But from what i heard over the radio and what i saw from the outside it did seem like it took them to long.

  • dont start cussing at me and telling me how big of a dick i am but in my opinion this was a poor job of firefighting, it shouldnt have taken them that long to knock this fire down. get in knock it down and get it out. Im also not trying to brag on my own department but in all reality we would have had the fire knocked in half the time it took these guys

  • @rsizemore12 im not going to call you a dick, but all fires are different and unless you were at the scene of the fire, INSIDE the house, then maybe you could fairly say they did a bad job

  • engine make the push. why they pull out the 1st line. i guess they dont make firemen like they used to. safety has clouded ppls minds.

  • jeepers wut hell are they doing standing on the ground..ladder up to the hole in the wall and put that bitch out

  • this went to a second alarm

  • i never knew firefighters go inside and fight the fire, i always the sprayed it from the outside?

  • @anthonym267 If a dwelling isnt to "fully involved" an interior attack is preferred, if it's just not safe for the FF's then a suround and drown is done

  • wow.

  • They go in if it is necessary. If they can save it, they go in. If it is fully involved, they just surround and drown, which is spraying it from the outside. It also depends if someone is in the house.

  • un fucking believable im not used to the new way of fighting fire... i guess it worked so i cant say too much bad shit about it... im just an old has been

  • im a fire fighter to..... i was just wondering how many alarms did it go up to? 5/5

  • Why would it be 5 alarms? It is a small attic fire. It seems over the radio, that it is a 2 alarm cause there are some apparatus on standby but it looks like a one.

  • No one followed up on the PASS activation.

  • at 1:49 they say their working on a verticle vent... i dont see any action on the roof at that time

  • i like how this department has great communications...

  • Disgusting and unbelieveable. Two good words for this shit show. Way to go.

  • So what is wrong with this operation?

  • if the truck crew had cut it's vent hole ASAP it would have made conditions for the first in engine crew on the pipe to more easily make their way up the stairs and push it out the window, this is a great example of how vertical ventilation could have reduced fire conditions faced by interior attacking crews.

  • why didn't they go inside and push it out the windows where it was already blowing out from? by hitting it from the outside you are killing the horizontal ventilation the fire was already doing and making conditions worse inside for an interior attack. they could have put out the whole fire with one 1 3/4" line properly placed inside and up the stairwell.

  • Because the video starts ten minutes after they arrived on scene. If you read the comments below. I already wrote once before they were upstairs and the chief backed them out after they trying for over 5 minutes to knock it down from the inside at the top of the stairs. You can seem them backing the line out at the 1:00 minute mark. There was too much fire so they knocked it down from the outside then made another attack and put it out.

  • I see a cut but it doesn't seem like there is much smoke pressure coming from it.

  • Did they get any vertical ventilation with interior attack? Didn't look like it but i could have helped...

  • I DO NOT UNDERSTAND ...... Why do guys bail it in the friggin window when guys are inside attempting interior knock down..... Notice the guys coming out of d side of building..... those guys were put into alot of danger......

  • They weren't in danger as the fire was confined to 2nd floor and they went straight down the stairs inside the side door to secure utilities in basement.

  • They were not put into danger as the fire was confined to the 2nd floor where it started. They entered the side door and went straight into the basement to secure the utilities then exitted the building. So nobody was up on the fire floor when they knocked it down from the outside.

  • The interior hose line had already backed out as you can see at minute 1:00. They were up their attempting to knock it down for over 5 min when the Chief pulled them out.

  • if you have any comments on how the chiefs did thier job, keep your comments them to yourself. because they don't need you telling them what to do. they did a good job of getting that fire knocked down without ANY ONE GETTING HURT OR INJURED

  • jrs29 read my comment again i never said he was inside i said he shouldnt be screaming like that UNLESS he is trapped inside which he obvioiously was NOT

  • y would the operations officer be inside trapped thats not his job waldrezz77 what the hell is that

  • and you could have done any better

  • EPIC FAIL operations chief.

  • Comment removed

  • nice knock down by the interior crews when your operations sector let you do your job how ever the operations shouldnt be yelling on the radio unless he's trapped inside, take it down a notch buddy the fire is gunna go out eventually.

  • nice video as always i was on the knob of the second line durring this fire

  • Very Very good commo. Excellent communications. Best teamwork I have seen in a long time.
