AWESOME find, very unusual method of collection! How does the device attach to the container? I see how it works with the truck but how do you actually hook it onto the bin? Looks like an old bin designed for a different system and that adapter thing was something made later on so that it could work with modern RLs?? Thanks a ton for this interesting vid!
Very simple really, the bar is placed on top of the front rim of the container (simply sits on) and then you tighten the screws to hold it in place. As a matter of fact both the container and bar are produced by the company themself. Though, they can be a bitch to move - this vid doesn't show how long it takes for the driver to get the bin on the latches.
This lane's pretty busy, gets a few trucks passing through each morning. It's busiest on Monday as shown here... there's still plenty tucked away in binrooms scattered around the place. Though there's one lane that gets about 6 trucks passing through daily, one of which goes through 3 times each day. It's home to heaps of garbage and recycling... be getting some videos of it soon.
Oh it's just this particular bin, shorter and doesn't take up all the rear of the truck unlike your standard dumpsters. Though it still gives a good amount of viewing space :D
I think this company has their own sorting facility to recover recycling/organics, but I'm not totally sure if that's the case. I'll have to find out, because I know they have some kind of facility - though it may just be a transfer station. This hotel still does plenty of recycling for glass and cardboard, I've seen the bales and bins... probably just a small fraction that gets mixed.
I sent an enquiry to the company and got a reply, discovering they do have a MRF to recover the organics and recycling, I was told about 80% is diverted from landfill.
I'm usually not grossed out by garbage...but for some reason that looks like some nasty trash!

This is the only place I've ever seen one, only this company has them, not many of them around.

A good design really gives you plenty of room on the side to see all the action.

nice footage, although I saw some glass and other recyclables amongst the garbage. Do they not recycle there?
