You know if you're interested in really doing the character as a regular serialized thing, there's a pepakura dethphone model available for download.

What I would suggest would be assembling a pepakura phone, fiberglassing it, and then cutting it apart and figuring out how to modify it so you can fit your cellphone in there.

You can just use a small chain and a blunted fish hook for the flail on the bottom.
