@0210mick i guess it comes down to how good people are off the start and how they handle the clutch. the official number is 5.9 seconds 0-60, some people can get it down to 5.5 seconds, and people who do their own calculation tend to not push it all the way, saying its over 6 seconds. oh and not to mention, 5.5 seconds is with the manual, automatic you can't get past around 6 seconds so that's why it sounds hard to believe.

@59summerset warranty's where needed is hard to go by there is so many holes because no1 sits and reads the contract on select companies offer true warranties and it's usually a honda dealership or something I don't buy cars to keep them stock because I don't have money for a gtr or a ferrari yet lol

believe me i know that the r spec doesn't measure up to the mustang or the camaro in terms of sheer performance. but the r spec is an awesome car for being just a v6.
Not bad at all by the V6 Camaro. Much heavier car that's so close to the lighter V6 Hyundai even on the launches and the slalom. This is a V6 Camaro victory in my opinion.
The only reason the Hyundai took longer to stop is because brembos need to be warmed up before being most efficient. The camero's brakes get weaker the warmer they get cuz they're cheaper steel ones.

Difference is that you can put blower on Genesis engine and it will run fine where if you do same on Chevy Engine, it will probably blow as soon as you leave a garage. ;)

First of all a Camero shouldn't come in a v6, my opinion. I just bought the same Hyundai in that color and I love it. The yellow is nice looking in person and stands out from the rest of the colors. Bottom line is you get a lot for the money and it does turn a lot of heads. I have no hate for the Camero, but to spend over 40k for the SS is ridiculous.

thoes V6s will get goin fairly quickly, looking at 0-60 times of around 6.5 sec ... not bad by anymeans for a cheap car... hell when i was young that was my first car.... bought it for 1500$ droped 800$ into it... and i could easly keep up with the avrage GT mustang.

By the way, the quality of Hyundai automobiles is miles beyond what it was in the past.
No question this company has made massive strides in improving their products and I think they have done an excellent job.
They back their cars with probably the best warranty in the business, I wouldn't hesistate for a moment in buying one of their cars.
I'm shopping around at this time, I never buy new only low mileage, late model, under full warranty.

First of all a Camero shouldn't come in a v6, my opinion. I just bought the same Hyundai in that color and I love it. The yellow is nice looking in person and stands out from the rest of the colors. Bottom line is you get a lot for the money and it does turn a lot of heads. I have no hate for the Camero, but to spend over 40k for the SS is ridiculous.

I like the genesis but from a gear heads perspective heres the problems with it
1 Good luck getting the model of Genesis you want , if its the track model you might have to take 1 in babyshit green
2 The after market parts supply is a joke and well beyond expensive
3 I actually own a new Hyundai Vera Cruz and the interior is , let's just say stuff snaps off for no reason
4 Hyundai dealerships are infamous for raping you on any work, IE $550 30k mile service

This is about v6 powered sport coupes. Not awd FI v6 trucks. But at the end of the day i'd never want to own a syclone,typhoon,blazer,or s10.

@FredKruegerKrueger Don't get started on whats in my garage. Why don't you search for some tial 770 b5 s4's and see the power they put out. I got my nogaro blue s4 when it came out. Last year I dropped 15k to build the engine and throw in some tial 770's. You can pickup a used s4 for as low as 6500. Spend 15k on a build and be at the low to mid 600's to all the wheels. The g37 is in the same class as a v6 camaro and a genesis you idiot..you were the one that brought up the shitclone

@prophit06 Well A LOT of the highschool douches, get V6 mustangs and think they speed racers, 8 out of 10 driver mustangs mean mug me (the other two are old people) because i drive a blue Tiburon, that does not look ricey at ALL. As a matter of fact it catches their eye and then they look at me as if i was a peasant once they find out im their age. Yes the engine is a shitty but the looks are stunning in person, I get lots of compliments for the looks not the speed. Rarely on weekends a Z28(450)

@ChickenCritters the V6 mustangs can be fairly quick bud. 3:73 gears, a freshin up the engine, cold air, chip, sparkplugs,wires, duel exaust etc....
thoes V6s will get goin fairly quickly, looking at 0-60 times of around 6.5 sec ... not bad by anymeans for a cheap car... hell when i was young that was my first car.... bought it for 1500$ droped 800$ into it... and i could easly keep up with the avrage GT mustang.

This is kind of biased...genesis with an upgrade package...vs the middle of the road camaro?? And even so...its still only won by a ver small margin. If they had taken a stock entry level Camaro vs an entry level Genesis...it would have been no contest.
Did Hyundai sponsor this test or what? Im not trying to hate on Hyundai, I actually liked the Tiburon that the Genesis replaced...but this is just stacking the deck.

@nezerac bro if you checked your facts the first supra to break into the 9's was by a man named Joel Tanzman in a 1982 mkII supra that was full interior, which ran a 9.91 in colorado at roughly 6000ft or so on street radials, in mid to late 90's, and you're right the mustang first broke 9's in 1989, completely stripped interior and on drag radials, but honestly i still rather just have the new 5.0 Mustang and call it a day

@whatnamesnottakenyet well depends on the joke, i still havent found an 9 second Camaro that still has the full interior, yet there are several Supra's that can run 9's full interior, and a few that can run 8's, but something else to consider is the fact the supra is old, there has been time to research everything while the NEW Camaro has barely been tinkered with...i am sure only time will tell

But the bottom line is Camaro is kicking the sh!t out of the Genitals sales. The camaro is a better car, it performs better. The genitals barely beat it in 1/4 mile despite being 350lbs lighter, can't even sto quicker and hardly turns better. Genitals doesn't even show up on the sales charts. Its a money loser. Camaro has been outselling Mustang and Challenger for the last 12 months.
