  • Not to be rude this looks fake when the the skidder I think thats what it is called fell.

  • All because the boss was too fuckin cheap to replace the seatbelt; Seen a lot of worn out saftey equipment; first one to bitch is the first one laid off! happened to me.

  • i noticed stumps have alot to do with rollovers. and the wrong angle

im just learning to operate a skidder and alot of times freak myself out on flat ground because of the stumps.

4days in and going to go back to camp to learn more

  • i thought this had something to do with my username

  • Never trust anyone who feels compelled to wear a helmet to make a Youtube video.

  • At 59 minutes when the skidder comes into view, it is obviously a computer animation. There is no one in the cab!

But yeah too bad the operator didn't take THOUGHT for his safety!! Otherwise he could return home after his work day.

  • @leandercool i saw that to i was like what the heck, and i see that little roundish thing as an eye and more......

  • we had a rollover today rolled up on it`s top, becarefull guys your not invenceable

  • nice animation on the stills helps show what happen

  • No Shit like WTF Man people need to use there head i seen that Coming

  • A little cheesy.. no offense

  • I rolled a 848-H John Deere on a 70% hill we were yarding it wasn't a fun experiance....

  • stop at 0:25 and look left. its a half of a face!

  • @leandercool thats pretty scary

  • holy smokes, i know how it feels to skid on a side hll, one high stump can end ur day pretty quick...

  • I knew this man very well and worked for him, he always kept safety at the forefront, sometimes you just get caught in a bad spot and the worst can happen just like that! people die every day trying to have a shower, it just goes to show that shit happens!

  • @cr450r it just goes to show SH&& happens to those who take SAFETY for granted!

    ALL accidents can be prevented!

  • @Vstar4Jesus

exactly . from now on workers should only use soft rubber hammers

rubber screwdrivers . and styrofoam saws and crowbars ..

every job that contains people to control (big ) machines .

has it risks . . and do you really think everyone gets time or is willing to check up every piece of gear .??

not as long you got bosses riding some serious ass.. nah , time is money .

  • that seat belt looks kindof dry rotted also. like most old machinery..

  • @hapkidohapkidohapkid Daily pre trip maintenance is crucial to safe vehicle operation. be careful about the lack of safety mindedness of coworkers, if it rubs off on you or others it can lead to injury or death, or a lifetime of pain.

BTW Where i work the dumb sob's been there for over 15 years and have become very lax in following safety rules and regs. SAFETY is a EVERYDAY task! :)

  • Common sense? You need it in the woods! Never operate a machine if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Hate to see a man die though! :(

  • hell makes me think about wearin my seatbelt when im drivin now

  • ok this looks so fake exspecially when it falls down the hill

  • @NexonnoxeN Yeah, that bit was animated. I thought it was actually pretty realistic. :o)

  • @NexonnoxeN it kinda is they didnt have the whole thing on tape so they had to recreate how it happened

  • @NexonnoxeN It's only animated to show what happened. It doesn't need to look realistic :D

  • That's why you don't cut down forests..

  • @Faniibandit whipe your ass with plastic next time then tell me why logging is bad. also what is your house made out of?

  • 35% thats fuck all i was skidding a pipeline and some parts of it were 60% just don't go sideways on a hill and know your machine and you will be fine.

  • does not matter what your driving or who you are. go slow, shit happens. nobodys fault

  • sorry but that was plain stupid you never drive on steep side ways slope like that i don,t think that operater was exsperianced to bad for the operater hope some people learn with this video it

  • I've been on a way worse slope than that and i'm only 14 if that was a John Deere he would have been fine

  • hope you make fifteen

  • Either you check by distance (35% means 35m +height on 100m length. In other words 100% = 45°). For profs thats easy to see with the eye. You may ask: Why isn't there a measuring device installed in the skidder in the first place?! I can tell you: Because a cheap skidder sells better.

  • You can buy an angle finder for about $7 at Lowe's and mount it to read lateral pitch but I doubt you will get any operater to look at it...

  • get a job at stabucks

  • Never operate a machine on a side hill. That almost seems common sense, but then again, common sense isn't so common.

  • I knew him. Know the site. He was a very safe operator. He was skidding parrallel to the hill. No one knows how he went over or why he went over. Just shows this can happen to anyone.

  • yes, sometimes shit like this happen to the most skilled worker.

plus that seat belt looks to me like was not good enough you know!

  • the operator went at the hill faster than he should have

  • my father had same accident 10 years ago, but alived...Deo gratias...reason ? the servo failed and skidder (LKT 81) turned left and rolled over three times

  • idk tho, i bet that seatbelt was ripped b4 this accident.

  • it says at like 2:35 that the seat belt was missing a chunk the made the belt half of the regular width in one spot.

  • operating earthmoving plant for a living, i didnt wear my seatbelt, untill i saw this video

  • wow how careless of that operator to try and defy the laws of physics, its not a good idea to try to pull a drag on a thirty percent plus hill while you are paralell to it. Skidder operator is one of the most dangerous jobs in north america i started when i was 17 you have to be a very calculated and risky person. Be safe to all you lumberJacks out there.

  • wear 3 seat belts

  • What on earth is a "40% slope"? Wouldn't that be said to be a slope of 40 degrees, an actual measurement system?

  • 22 degrees. To convert percentage slopes, divide by a hundred and apply the inverse tangent function.

  • What!?

  • Its a shame for someone to be killed like this, but most of the blame should go on the employee. If the seatbelt is broke fix it or dont run it. they could have yarded the logs closer to the bank edge so he didnt have to get so off balance. You havent spent enough time in a skidder if you keep 4 wheels on the ground at all times, with low wood prices production comes before safety sometimes.

  • was that a real video of the accident???

  • No, it was CG.

  • 1:07...woooot! Watch out Operator!!

  • well if your a smart careful operator you wont have accidents

  • That's why I won't work in Canada. Too many accidents... (subtle)

  • my favorite channel

  • nice

  • Nice? Honestly.... the man died
