I don't know if I've ever thought of them as a punk band, but for a pop band they're pretty talented, origional actually good (unlike some pop bands) and stings lyrics can get kinda interesting the fact that they actually write their lyrics instead of having them done for them is also a plus
The Police could destroy any wimpy punk band with their musical expertise. The only thing these punks could do is diss them because they were jealous. And the Police moved on!! I get anxious watching Sting tear up that fretless bass. Who else played fretless in a punk band??!?! I could go on and on.....This totally freaking rocks. Thanks for posting.
Played this to pieces when I was at college. Local pubs jukebox got hammered repeatedly for this and Next To You, along with some Clash and Sex Pistols.
I first went to see Police at a local leisure centre for 25p then later for the Synchronicity Tour for alot more.
If The Police are landlords i'd love to be one of their tennats. You could learn alot musically from these guys. Bands this talented are very rare in the music world. I just wish they lasted longer in their recording career (damn you Sting!)
Stewart a natur jackhammer!

I love how, at the punkiest height of the Police, Andy remains perfectly calm and poised.
