To ALL who have requested the name on this tune (and got no response). Apparently Key of G is too busy to reply to our queries. Way to look out Key of G (for yourself). So here is the answer:
This is The Funky DL, remixed by Shin-Ski (Japan). You can find it on Discogs.com on Re-Shinstruction. I was able to download the unmixed ver. on iTunes. Happy Spinning y'All.
@KnowURUTube Unfortunately I'm not on here that much, so I've missed some questions. However if you look at the "Uploader Comments" part of this page, you can see that I already answered the question a couple months ago.
@lilmijo2007 Hey, this version is remixed by Shinski of Martiangang. He's a Japanese producer so it's hard to find his stuff outside of Japan. I found his stuff through blogs.
@ScottRoseishere Hey, I can't remember where I found it...but it's a remix by Shinski of Martiangang. He's Japanese so his stuff is hard to find...I think I found it on some blogs a while back.
Hey is this a remix of not the 1 4 me? I've tried looking for it but the only one I could find on itunes had a different music and the speed was much slower.
I been using a midi controler KORG Nano Kontrol i love it u can do alot of things with this and sofware for the price 65.00 Dollars but not jog tha is the only bad thing and it seams like i need a extra set of hands or really study hard to remember all the actions. and cueing is very ahrd do to not enough volume Djay is the best software for me I am not professional but I seen Dj at clubs that have been there for ever and still suck.
Hi your videos ar really cool thanks for the info. I been looking for a controller for Djay and I think this is it. But How is it when you arelistenning to the deck 1 while deck 2 playing Cueing because u se a usb head set and volume is not loud is ahrd to mix not being able to listen to the other track because of not enough volume. do you pug headphones on spin if so is volume better than usb on computer thanks
@polymexdf69 I'm using the headphone jack on the Spin which is a separate output. It has been loud enough at the various venues I've used it at...I think it would be fine for bigger venues too, it gets loud enough to damage your hearing if you want lol
awesome review man.. thanks a lot, ive been researching for hours for a midi controller that has enough features but is cheap enough for a start up... i wasn't sure about spin but after ur review im sold...
thx for your nice review! could u maybe show how to use headphones on the mixer? or isn't there the chance to listen to the table not being played at the moment?
Oops, I forgot to show that in the reviews. There is a headphone button next to each platter that is denoted by a headphone logo on it. By default, Djay is set up to not play anything through your headphones unless you have a headphone button for a platter engaged. Once you have one the cue buttons engaged, the music for that platter will sound through the headphones. If you press the button for both platters, both will play in your headphones. What you hear will be independent of the xfader.
hey thx! just got my spin. it's really easy to use. mixing however takes a long process of learning i guess. props to the dj's in the clubs! thx again for your review!
@keyofgreydotcom Just wanna know also is the Vestax better or the DJ-Tech I-MIX RELOAD better? I'm stuck between the two don't know whcich to get between the two:( Any help would be AWESOME!!!
I unfortunately have not tried the Spin with any other software. I am, however, following the developments with Traktor mappings.
I was thinking of mapping it to Mixxx, but until at least the next Mixxx release, the current version does not have as big a featureset as Djay, so I'm sticking with it for now.
If you press down on the platter, the music stops. If you move the platter in this position forwards or backwards, the music will move accordingly. If you do not press down, but instead spin the platter forward, the track will speed up until you stop spinning. If you spin it in reverse, it will slow the track down. This acts like pitch control if you don't want to use the dedicated fader or buttons. I think this is what you mean when you refer to riding the mix.
The audio quality seems pretty good to me, but I haven't used it in a club setting, so I'm not sure how loud the soundcard output is. I haven't noticed any latency when cueing, but I don't know how to scratch so I can't tell you if there's latency there. I can tell you though, that it doesn't really like it if your iTunes library is on an external hard drive as it can stutter if you're playing a long set. You can set the sensitivity of the jog wheels but you cannot loosen or stiffen them.
hey man how how to record ? arrhh im so piss off right now !! everytime i record something it save it as mp4???? i need mp3 not mp4 aaaaaaa such a pain in the neck this toy !!!
Currently, you have 3 recording options. If you use the lowest quality setting, it uses M4A, however both the other settings are higher quality AIFF. You cannot record directly to MP3 (at least not until djay decides to change that). In any situation, you will need separate software to change the output to MP3. iTunes can open all 3 times, and you can re-import it as an MP3, as well as update the ID tags at the same time. That's what I've been doing.
Yup, djay and the Spin are bundled when you buy it. The software is Mac only, but if you wanted to use the Spin on a PC, it acts like a normal MIDI device. You'll have to map it to whatever software you use on the PC though.

vestax recently launched the vestax typhoon controller.
Its exactly the same as spin but unfortunatley has a motor vehicle / gift wrap colour & texture.
The typhoon operates on a pc or mac & works with traktor software .
I hope they change the colour because vestax spin is cleaner.

yo man thanks for the review, just wondering if the software come with the set?
LutzakVideos 2 years ago
@LutzakVideos Yup, djay comes bundled with the Vestax Spin. The software is Mac-only though, so keep that in mind.

I like its simplicity & D-Jay Software looks good ,those afro hair record labels are funky..
Have you tried using spin with any other dj software?
for example virtual dj has video mixing & 4 deck support.

can you reveal ..
How does the touch sensitive platter work
If you press the jog wheel platter down does the music stop?
can you use the jog wheel to ride the mix or are you limited to using the pitch control?
whats the audio quality like?
Is it absolutely zero latency when scratching / cueing / cutting?
can you loosen / stiffen the jog wheels?
Thank you
