For exemple Grey Knights barerly put anyone in a dreadnaught.Not out of lack of dedication,but because most of their powers will be nullified in a dreadnaught and thus they can no longer fight side by side with their brothers and are a hinderance.

Also, not when they're dead, when a marine dies, an apothecary drills a hole in his neck and extracts a certain organ that every marine has that contains the chapter's gene seed, so it can be used again. It's what the drill thing on the apothecary's arm does.
A dreadnought isn't dead, but has received too much battle damage to continue fighting without the dreadnought.

I agree. The standard space marine has no energy shield yet he can take a .75 bolter round at point blank range and survive. Plus a space marine can move faster, jump longer, and take more drastic wounds than a halo spartan.

well they use standard issue rifle ammo probs the size of an aks round sos not very powerful by 40k standards plus if a guardsmen set his lasgun all the way up to the highest power outage people say it can destroy a dreadnought in a single shot but theres a imperial doctrin saying that a las gun must be weak and they cant tamper with it besides most gaurdsmen dont hav a slue how to do it anyways

A Space Marine is like the Religous Knight of Medieval Europe, the Pure Warrior of Sparta, and the Honor Bound Samurai of Japan, combined into 1 person, who is Genetically Modiefied over time when they are inducted into thier chapter, and Wear FAR Suprieor Armor than the best of Todays Military. Hell it would take a shot from a tank of today to do any Real dmg to a Space marine, even then they can still rip you to shreds cause they don't stop untill they are utterly Killed.
You are saying it like it is almost impossible to kill a SM, but a M1 Abrams has enough fire power to pierce the armour of a SM and blow it to pieces, with a .50cal MG you can kill a SM just as easy. With Terminator armour they are getting a bit stronger but still with sheer fire power you can kill them.

Boltgun shells are .75 caliber rocket propelled explosives with depleted deuterium cores. Standard power armor can take quite a few hits from a bolter before penetration. And no, a .50cal would not do shit to power armor.
i had to go back to see what you mean but i know now and definetly a 50cal would bounce off as the sm lughs at you while blowing you up a lasrifle is more pwerful than a 50 cal (a lasrifle can destroy dreads when turned up to max but theyre not allowed to tamper with pwer settings idk why i dont look too much into ig) the point is if an abrams tank attacked lets say a blood angel it would pull it apart then use the peices to kill everything around him if (black rage=awesome but sad)
If it did come down to a Space Marine vs an M1 Abrams tank, he would be able to dodge the first round, run up to it at speeds that we can't comperehend, and then smash the tank in with his fists. I doubt a round from an Abrams would be able to kill a Space Marine.
i think a little more would be needed than a boltpistol round... it should require atleast a shot from a stormbolter or a heavy bolter... but then again it will never happen :( *sadface*

Why Astarte and not another war god - well, why not? 'Astartes' sounds like 'stars', so makes people think of 'star warriors'. And perhaps because this wasn't the obvious choice. ;) GW designers had a lot more imagination those days (look at the Raven Guard and E.A. Poe).

its certianly more accurate than the tabletop thats for sure, and in DOW the outcome dpeneds on your tactics and how fast you click your mouse, while in the tabletop its all about dice rolls.
To my knowledge, you CANNOT use what's not in the codex, in a regular game, and the Imperial Armor books are purely for Apocalypse, or for extending your game.

As with most everything from Forgeworld, if it's NOT an Apocalypse game, you should ask your opponent if it's allright to use the vehicle in a game of regular 40K.

If it did come down to a Space Marine vs an M1 Abrams tank, he would be able to dodge the first round, run up to it at speeds that we can't comperehend, and then smash the tank in with his fists. I doubt a round from an Abrams would be able to kill a Space Marine.

i think a little more would be needed than a boltpistol round... it should require atleast a shot from a stormbolter or a heavy bolter... but then again it will never happen :( *sadface*

i think that it might be able to hurt him or incapacitate him because of the blast but i doubt that it would pierce the armor and kill him.... not instantly atleast

think about the supernatural reflexes strengh and speed
it would be very unlikly to happen

Actaully Astarte is the greek goddess of fertility, sex, and war. So Adeptus Astartes essentially means "Skilled at War".

as correct as your answer may be i doubt that GW did know that, cause Astarte is a Female and when they realy did know that then it would be a much more fitting name for the Adepta Sororita.
and by the way, why schould they pick her? i mean, there are more then a dozen gods of war out there between the different mythologies, so why schould they pick one who is related to sex? but i must admit (off the topic) that i enjoy talking to someone who knows his mythologie

More precisely, Astarte is Phoenician/Canaanite. Greeks had Aphrodite, Ares and Demeter to fulfill her duties. ;)
Still, the point is very good. I've always wondered why 'astartes' actually... This makes a lot of sense.
Why Astarte and not another war god - well, why not? 'Astartes' sounds like 'stars', so makes people think of 'star warriors'. And perhaps because this wasn't the obvious choice. ;) GW designers had a lot more imagination those days (look at the Raven Guard and E.A. Poe).

There is two kind of psykers: the sanctioned ones, which are trained in a few powers and use their abilities for good of Mankind, and the unsanctioned, who live in hiding from the Ecclesiarchy and the Imperium as a whole, for they could be used by the Ruinous powers against humanity.
And I would not define a Space Marine Librarian, but instead a very worthy battle counsellor. Practically, the "intelligence" of the Adeptus Astartes.

its certianly more accurate than the tabletop thats for sure, and in DOW the outcome dpeneds on your tactics and how fast you click your mouse, while in the tabletop its all about dice rolls.

To my knowledge, you CANNOT use what's not in the codex, in a regular game, and the Imperial Armor books are purely for Apocalypse, or for extending your game.
I bought a Baneblade, turns out I can't us it til I get Apoc rulebook, and I was like "WTF?!"

The music doesnt quite fit and the writing hard to understand, but the whole thing and the black and white makes it believe-able that Space Marines or Emperor's finest warriors, the Adeptus Astartes are real.

but im telling you that isnt the definition of a mutant in real life or DOW. When they're refering to mutants they're talking about psykers, dwarves, ogrin, ect. humans that are born diffrent from the normal due to they're belief its either caused by the warp or they'll be a detriment to the imperium which has been proven wrong at every turn. and psykers arnt tolerated, they're brain washed and turned into human tools, being a psyker is one of the greatest sins in DOW

so psykers arnt stronger than normal humans? funny id be pretty afraid of a guy who can kill me just by thinking of it. And if it has to be a accident that makes a mutant I think somone needs to tell the eclisiarchy. and since the deffinition of a "mutation" is a biologic change in a creature to attempt raising survivability you just screwed yourself.
