@Angie2343 Pat Sajak was busy with his late night talk show on CBS, so Bob Goen was brought in to take his place on the daytime variant of Wheel of Fortune.
I love how Charlie O'Donnell lies in the opening... "The famous Wheel is spinning your way, with lots of cash..." . I'm willing to bet the winners of the first two rounds didn't think so! Lol
I'm gonna take a stab and say Tuesday January 2, 1990.
Since New Year's Day was on a Monday (Bob referenced "it's a brand new year"), and the big 3 were doing, of all things, Rose Parade coverage..that's my guess.
Today is 11.11.11! I like this episode also!

Hey, where's Pat? This guy looks like a younger Chuck Woolery.

@FutureNewsAnchor He sounds a lot like Chuck Woolery.

How do you think Bob handled Wheel of Fortune?

@tpir1972 Despite the cheap Wheel and all, I reckon Bob did a brilliant job of Wheel.

Well sometimes, like on the nighttime show, $1,000 space carries over to Round 4 after Round 3 right before $1250 for Round 5 and Beyond.

Better than it was from the CBS Premiere through at least September '89 -- the two lowest values were $50 and $75!

Does anybody else think that Don kind of looks like Jack Narz...and sounds like Orson Bean?
Coincidentally, both emceed "Concentration" for Mark Goodson.

You know what they could have made Round 4's top dollar value? $1,500!
jarvisbrodiea1 2 years ago 4
@jarvisbrodiea1 And they didn't. They could have made it $4315 if they'd wanted to, but they didn't do that either. Please go away.

Strange how when the opening changed, Charlie still introduced only Bob while Bob still introduces Vanna.

That changed when it moved back to NBC.

"MOVIES" on that pink $250 next to the yellow $400 (heck, the only $400 in the round).

Look at that little boat offered in the bonus round

But he says that the person won yesterday. Also, he said they've been having fun in the new year, it's got to be later on in January.
