  • Thanks, this was helpful.

  • Oh shit it works on skype now?!? last time i had skype it said it didnt.

  • Great review, thx. I had replace my droid 2 twice now and the firstt time I called verizon, I was told I wasn't eligible for an early upgrade yet but upon returning my phone a second time, im now eligible for a early upgrade WTF? Anyway, verizon mentioned that recommended this phone and glad I researched first..im definetly not an entry level user, soo I will just have them replace my droid 2 and wait a few more months when im eligible for a new phone...maybe something even better will be out.

  • @WorldOfANerd I believe it's $99 on a 24-month, yes.

  • Hello Jordan! Have you ever tried QEMU for testing distros? Which one runs OSes faster - VirtualBox or QEMU?

  • @unixolsc I have used KVM and QEMU before, with Virt-manager, but Virtualbox is just easier, in my experience, to create and use new VMs. I should probably give those two a good fair shake again, though. Vbox gives cross-platform support, though, which is nice, so I can test at work as well with the same VM.

  • @thisweekinlinux Thanks for reply but which of them is faster in your experience?

  • @unixolsc Ahh, missed that part of the question, lol.

It's been a while since I've read anything on KVM/QEMU, but I believe KVM/QEMU do some paravirtualization, so they can emulate the actual hardware you have for some equipment, so you might get better speeds.

  • i love swype, admittedly it can be annoying especially with shorter works like "to and "at" larger words usually show up correctly and it can save time with practice.

  • @joe4ska I messed with it more after doing the review. it's kinda funny to just draw random shapes on the keyboard and see what words Swype comes up with.

  • @thisweekinlinux Wost part is the repeated wrong words Swype dumps on you if you've allowed a misspelling to slip through. Actually of all my friends using Android I'm the only one that still likes it.

  • who uses myspace now?

  • @ssfdre38 crappy bands? :P

  • Welcome Back Beard!!! haha :D

  • Nice video. Keep them up, and I hope you continue.

  • quad core? thats double my giant loud ass pc.

  • tl;dw he approves

  • Thanks for the good review!

  • I am a thumb keyboard user, I is great on phones as well as tablets

  • @jeffreyparke Me too, works great on the Nook Color.

  • i love your videos... u start posting more and more videos on youtube again just like b4... it will be really appreciated

  • Thumbed up, for beard!

  • Only you? I prefer it on top as well!

I would love a new HTC phone <_<"

  • I only have about 145MB free internal space.... :/

  • Excellent review, keep the videos coming. (:

  • Maybe they had to put the power button there because that fruit company has some patent on better places for the button?

  • @SeltsamerAttraktor if they allowed for patenting something as stupid as button location, I think we're all in trouble...

  • Oh and btw: instant thumbs up for the beard.

  • is there a good ereader?

  • @jackclark1981 For Android? Oh, yeah. Of course there's Amazon's Kindle app, and Barnes & Noble's Nook app, but if you have your own PDFs or ePubs, you can use an app like Aldiko Reader. I'm a big fan of that one.

  • Old intro music was better.

  • I have the pantech texting version of the phone.

  • Phone fucking sucks, now stop with the videos of it!

  • @SickTechShow I mailed the phone out on Monday, so it's not even possible for me to make more videos about it. :P

  • Interesting I wounder if you can buy this online and they will send it to New Zealand :)

  • The moment I saw your montage, I say "whoa". Nice... :)

  • Sounds like you need to disable the power-button, would "rooting" the device be required for that?

  • @hydrox24 if you disabled the power button, turning the device off and waking it up would be impossible. :P

  • i agree with you on the power button. that's just a stupid place to put it.

  • 2:40 I can read the book titles, so good for VGA

  • WOW! I am so happy that you are back! I can get all my high quality linux content more often than just Tux radar now w()()T!

  • how do u change the interface?

  • @emerybryant you can install a new launcher from the Google Market. There are a huge range, but some that I've used and like are ADW Launcher, GO Launcher, QQ Launcher, even Launcher7, which is a Windows Phone 7-like interface. You can install new lock screens (Agile Lock is a good one) and new keyboards as well.

  • I really enjoy your videos and have for the past 2 years. It is truly a shame that you have become a target to be attacked by OSGUI. Losing you as a Youtube partner was unfortunate. Perhaps Tim will find someone else that he considers a threat to his orientation and livelihood and will concentrate his harassment efforts elsewhere. Until then, hang in there and keep up the good work.

  • @Gatorman32656 I wish that were the case, but things have been going on for 1.5 years at this point. The only way I can make it truly go away is for me to leave entirely, delete my channels, and just not come back... :/ don't want to do that, though.

  • @thisweekinlinux I find it interesting that those people who clamor for acceptance and tolerance are the most intolerant of all. You were, of course, attacked because you posed a threat to him. Had you not been enjoying a high level of success, you might not have become his target. Using reason as a retort to a person lacking this quality as well as such a skewed view of the world is of no avail. Perhaps another target will present itself to take the spotlight away from you. I wish you well.

  • not just you. my galaxy mini has the power button at the same exact location, and it's annoying as hell. not to mention its craptastic screen, but that's a whole other story. at least it was free..

  • @bamdadkhan It's confusing to see how manufacturers have moved the buttons around on some devices, I agree.

  • i hope that you'll get your youtube partnership back

  • OH MY BEARD

  • i sent you a skype request. would you like to accept me? it's okay if you don't

  • @Ograws ohh, I'm rarely on Skype, I'll have to log on at some point and check to see if I have requests. :P

  • @thisweekinlinux cool thank you for the videos you're the best!!

  • BEARD!

  • *going to go watch on the website*

major props for still doing these.

  • Why dont you like swype? I love it

  • You would kinda hope Angry Birds would play smoothly on a 1GHz processor... especially given you can buy a $25 PC with a 800GHz processor that can play Quake 3 on high.

Just fantastic to see the beard back.

  • Hi !!!! Any chance you can make a video how to fix the flash player for facebook on Google Chrome for Ubuntu 10.04 ?

Can't find any help anywhere else !

  • @supermecis Google Chrome has Flash Player integrated. This means that if you experience problems AFTER an update, you will need to get an earlier version of Google Chrome. Another solution is to just wait for the next update which will most certainly contain a fix.

  • White picture with the pantech camera.

  • That's one sexy beard !!

  • Do you have app2sd or SD-Booster?

it helps me with my $65 Chinese android tablet (512 mb of usable internal memory)

  • @bobdotexe I do not, but that would probably be helpful as well.

  • Woohoo the beard is back!

  • The camera works pretty well, but the microphone makes a lot of background noise.

  • @anonix27 Agreed. I've noticed that most phone-related cameras have mics that are a bit too "hot" (see the video on my second channel... it was done with a Blackberry Playbook)

  • First? if not then second to say first? lol.
