  • People who call Henry a jerk or put this line-up down seem to forget that Hughie would have asked the band continue and these guys are continuing the tradition and the music. I saw them 6 times in 08 traveling all over New York and PA to do so. Every show was awesome. I met Henry and Randy and I can say they are as far from jerks as you can get. Long live The Outlaws. Best F**king band anywhere,

  • great song by great players who are carrying on a tradition. I hate 'haters'. Hughie ain't a jerk...he's an Outlaw. Are you saying Derek Trucks ain't an Allman Brother???? Keeping it new and fresh when players die is OK by me!

  • Not quite the same without Hughie. RIP

  • Missing Hughie...

  • Hmmm.....mixed emotions on this one. It's good, BUT it is a different band for sure. Chris Anderson brings it though. I believe he fits the original Outlaw mode the best, although he didn't get involved until the 80's.

  • a keyboard player LOL, what the heck!

  • They sounded even better last week in Foxboro. What a great show. Everyone there seemed very happy. I enjoy this lineup - every one of em.

  • funny you mention Jimmy Martin. Back in Jr High I was in a band with his son Timmy Martin.

  • Totally not diggin how the new lead player how he made a mockery out of Hughies lead breaks..... This is a great lead song so play it like it's meant to be played. Don't clutter a lead with useless speed notes and riffs.

  • chris andersons not bad. they need to get rid of billy caine hes a geek. they need to fing a new lead vocalist Henry Paul sucks. of course they'll never be the same without Hughie and billy Jones. Ive got enough of the old outlaws to listen to i don't even like hearing this BS. they're a disgrace to Hughie's legacy!

  • those fucks are DEAD.....time to move on

  • then dont listen to them evidently you dont know what good music is. hughie and billy were awesome. their talent has guaranteed them a place in history.

  • AMEN

    once an outlaw

    alway an outlaw

  • @fuzzz59 i agree henry paul is a jerk. hughie and billy were the outlaws

  • I'm sorry, but these guys sound like a tribute band.

    The organ just doesn't fit.

  • say WHAT?

  • The only thing that redeems this version of Freeborn Man nad makes it even tolerable is CHRIS ANDERSON and his unfailing talent and committment!

  • I agree... Chris Anderson is in my opinion , more an original outlaw.... Henry Paul is a suckbag...I was glad when Freddie Salem stepped in to replace HP. He always sounded nasal.... and just seemed to be an outlaw when it suited him.... kind of a Mike Nesmith type Monkee... Long live the music of hughie, billy and freddie

  • I'm just not digging the Keys in this version.Plus the PRS is not as intense as Hughies Strat, and Billies Les Paul Custom were...of Course this is not 1977, and they all had Marshalls cranked up to 10 back then ..do I see a Peavey up there?

  • They are back as long as henny paul is lead singer... He is the backbone of outlaws

  • Actually Henry Paul is leasing the "Outlaws"name from Hughie's Wife, and on all contracts, it states that Monty Yoho is the Official leader of the "Outlaws" now. as far as backbone , It is Monty!

  • i like it, but i like jimmy martin's version better. thanks! JT

  • I have to agree. I saw them yesterday in the rain at Princeton, Ma and they were great. Not a single note was wasted. They put on a great show and people were loving it despite the rain. Actually, the rain was no factor, everyone just dealt with it, especially the boys. They seemed like they were really enjoying themselves. Go see them!

  • oh man that concert was AWESOME! i was right in front with my hands on the stage and they were just brilliant. the rain made it better

  • Hi brother,

incredible listening to the boys in the new lineup.Never heard a more intense version of that song since their live release from 1978.

Closing my eyes Chris Anderson seems to be the reincarnation of Billy Jones and Billy Crain alone is worth to see each show, love his stage performance, very movable. Thanks for sharing this tune - asskickin'!!!

    the best

    Herb

  • Great to see a video of the new line up.Looks like it was a great show! Thanks for posting JR, hoping to see them in a couple weeks!

  • Thanks. Drop me a note after you see the show. It was phenomenal. I need to see them again.....JR

  • I hate to say that I missed the show( had unexpected things pop up!).My goal is to see them! If they come within a 3-4 hr drive I'll try again!

From the videos you posted I KNOW I am missing an awesome show, these guys are really rocking!

When I get to see them I'll let you know how much I loved it!

  • Thanx for posting! I've seen Hughie's last gig in Europe... I'm happy for them that it goes on with Henry.

  • I'm not Keith Allison- but did you guys know Keith Allison and Mark Lindsay wrote this song?
