yes you can downgrade this laptop , just go to hp support and downloads, and download the xp drivers.

Hp offers the XP drivers for very few (2 or 3) hardware devices, the rest you have to find on your own.

its always possible to downgrade to xp - as long as you have an xp disk!

fans on my dv7 are QUIET!! this laptop runs cool and calm, but i cant speak for the 16t - my friend has 1 tho

dude can i ask u a question? how do get the remote to fit into the express slot? there is this lid which im assuming is a protector over my slot, and i cant figure how to get it out. Thanks

Dude dw i figured it out!...finally :P

alls u gots to do is just get the edge of ur finger like the tip and push the protector in the slot. it should go in then because of the spring action when u remove ur finger it pops out.

Ridiculous that i couldn't figure that out, im so retarded :S

Well, in the previous HDX, it had it so it popped out of the top of the laptop next to the keyboard.
