Magic Mountain's is still open and running, the one at Warner Bros Movie World, still open and running, and this one that got moved to Silverwood and was re-named Aftershock open and running with no reports of the types of issues they had at SFOG. I was a senior in hs when this ride opened and I was supposed to be on the opening ride crew. Never got the chance because it never opened before I left for college. It was the best ride in the park.
Six Flags over GA needs some better decision makers. They got rid of Deja Vu and Viper which were two of the more unique interesting roller coasters they've ever had, but they will never touch the migraine-inducing Ninja even though everyone hates it.

Also, I went to Six Flags yesterday and Acrophobia was closed, although they might just be tweaking with it because it says they're experiencing technical difficulties... Thunder River was closed a couple of weeks ago, but it's open again now =)

What they need to do for the ninja, is add better head rests (lol im not a theme park tech either) for example: The Incredible Hulk (Universal orlando) has those head rests ninja needs. I rode that 4 times ina row, but ninja, ill never ride it again!
Great concept of a coaster IMO. It's been 10 years and I still think this ride is ahead of it's time. Very hard to find on this planet so enjoy it while you can. I only got to ride it about 5 times and loved every moment of it. This should teach Vekoma a lesson not to install prototypes in 3 different parks at once and expect it to work fine. Test it at one park first. If they didn't take down the DejaVu here in Atlanta, there would've been FATALITIES, so in a way, good riddance.
@flyingcanadia13, Actually, Superman: Ultimate Flight sits on the old Viper site. I rode the Viper when that ride first came out when I was 10 back in 1995. The park has only had two fatalities from a rollercoaster and has been from the Batman ride only.

I talked to one of the mechanics at Six Flags one day about why it was taken down. During initial testing, the catch car that holds the train when it goes up the vertical towers derailed, and messed up a lot of stuff...practically beyond repair.
They kept doing makeshift repairs, but the initial damage was so bad that breakdowns continued to occur, and it became too costly for them to keep repairing it just to have it re-break in a week.
the deja vu was like the third most awesome ride there.... it was just the way it was built, it didn't function correctly.... i was one of the last people who rode it ---R.I.P Deja Vu---

Sadly, I don't think it's coming back. Until SFOG can find millions of dollars for their park within the next year, the ride will be bought and established somewhere else. The ride has already been placed out in organized segments in the back of the park, when they do this, it usually means it is up for sale and will be exported soon.
Because it was "down for maintenance" more often than it was operational. The last time I had the chance to ride it (about two years ago) it was down twice while I was just standing in line. Eventually got to get on and go, though. :)

Correct me if im wrong but at :28 catcher 2 is supposed to run up and catch the train while its climbing tower 2. WHY is the catcher already at the top. Wouldnt that be a miscatch? Actually wouldnt that cause an ESI or an RMC (we called em ESI's) if catcher 2 isnt at the lower part of the tower before dispatch? I thought the op couldnt dispatch unless it was down there waiting...

That doesn't seem right though because they still have one thats the exact same at Magic Mountain. I thought it was because it broke down all the friggin time and cost to much to maintain.

Correct me if im wrong but at :28 catcher 2 is supposed to run up and catch the train while its climbing tower 2. WHY is the catcher already at the top. Wouldnt that be a miscatch? Actually wouldnt that cause an ESI or an RMC (we called em ESI's) if catcher 2 isnt at the lower part of the tower before dispatch? I thought the op couldnt dispatch unless it was down there waiting...

It wasnt all the way at the top, the Catcher can grab ahold at any point of the train, usually you will see the catcher lower than the one here...
