  • Really, an outstanding fine rendition with feeling..thank`s for that...

    greetings and regards

  • OMG. This is one of my favorite songs by my favorite Hawaiian composer Kui Lee. I have never heard it recorded in such a beautiful manner. To the person who posted this: thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • @klstoltz no problemo.....

  • Just saw the Makaha Sons @ Thunder Valley...they were as awesome as ever! This was their last song (and then the hana hou). Thanks for posting.

  • beautiful!!!

  • from me to you Brandi Thomas, USAF

  • Iz was, and is, loved by everyone who ever heard, saw, or knew him. He had the biggest heart, showed unconditional love for all, and is missed and still loved by so many of us. Mahalo for posting!

  • Upon return from Nam 1970 - met DONNA. We went to Disneyland and the evening dinner theatre (?) where HA boy & girl sang this song as duet. Lordy! that was beautiful & I fell hopelessly in love with Donna. Alas! That was not to be but for 6 months or so. It still was a beautiful moment that I remember to this day. Does anyone else remember the Disneyland dinner theatre and the duet version of this song?

  • WOW! Even more help..... :) TYSM! :)

  • Love you Unko Iz

  • fantastic, why havent i heard this guy iz before now,

  • @scaramonger1 In the early 70's he was part of a group called the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau, he didn't go solo till about 1993. This song is from the album Ho'oluana, by the Makaha Sons Of Ni'ihau. Any old CD's or albums that have Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau, are with IZ. When they broke up, IZ went solo, that's what you've been hearing, but before 1993, you need to search for Makaha Son's on Ni'ihau CD's. The other 3 members became the Makaha Sons. So those CD's don't include IZ after 1993.

  • OMG! what a beautiful song. i love the way he talk, what a sweet person............Beautiful person, voice, song and yes i agree you can tell he had a BEAUTIFUL HEART. *^_^*

  • Beautiful harmony, beautiful lyrics, beautiful man. Can't watch this without crying.

  • I really wish i could download this song. :(

  • @FatalityG15 This version is from the Album entitled Ho'oluana, performed by the Makaha Sons Of Ni'ihau. IZ was with this group for about 20 years, married one of the member's sister. His brother Skippy, formed the group along with some friends. Makaha was where his ashes were scattered. Search for this song to download.

Also listen to Mehameha/White Sandy Beach from that same album.

  • @hankakah I have bookmarked all of IZ's music I can find on here and yep I have White Sandy Beach for a while now. And WOW Thanks for all the info I really appreciate it tysm :)

  • @FatalityG15 People will search for Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, but not sure if all the albums he made with The Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau will come up in their search. They made quite a few albums before IZ went solo. You need to search for Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau, that group includes IZ. When they broke up, IZ went solo, and the others became just the Makaha Sons. Two songs on youtube I've seen so far are He touched Me, Rusty Old Steampipes. Search for them and make sure you add Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau.

  • @hankakah I love the ones like Star of Gladness, Ka Paua U'i, E Ala E, Maui Medley etc, so I am going to keep looking ty :))

  • @hankakah I keep comin back here. TYSM!! for all the help. :)

  • This is one of my favorite albums of the Makaha Sons Of Ni'ihau. For those searching for IZ, he played in this group which they founded in the early 70's. So if you can find more of the Makaha Son's of Ni'ihau albums, they include IZ. When he went solo, the other 3 became the Makaha Sons. Those albums are without IZ. I can play this CD and put it on replay shuffle, and listen to it for hours. Not one of those CD's that have only one good song on them. Mehameha/White Sandy Beach is my favorite.

  • Magnifique interprétation

  • OMG!! Beautifull!! WOW!!!

  • his song so smooth...give insperation..

  • We miss you, Israel. May your soul fly over the ocean!

  • BIG UP HAWAIIN BOYZ....RESPECT

  • Beautiful song for a beautiful man...God needed another angel in heaven, and who could better serve than this beautiful man<3

  • Thank you for this video!

I have always loved the photo of Iz with his eyes closed and his wife Marlene's (I guess?) hand on his hair... it is so peaceful, moving and loving... there is so much love in that photo!

  • love you

  • Is i love you

  • ich bin ein großer Fanz von IZ und es ist sehr schade das so ein genialer Mensch uns Säger so bald von uns gehen mußte. In Gedanken an Ihn

  • You know what, i believe whole hearted that your going through some hard times; but, it's important for you to understand that you need a lots of prayers, so that, you may have rest in your spirit, peace of mind and a good heart; i don't know you, but their's a lots of demons that are playing games with your soul; just remember, billions and trillions of demons were cast out with lucifer from the Heavens; so, don't mocked and belittle my people! their several many demons with in you; repent!

  • @CWMaua12 lol thats the longest sentence ever. i think you need to replace using ; with . sometime. just saying.

  • @C00ki3M0nsst3r why dont u be spacific, what r u trying to say.

  • @CWMaua12 use fullstops (or what ever that are called in america) not semicolons all the time.

    specific enough?

  • @C00ki3M0nsst3r U sound like an uneducated individual, why? dis is why, what dus da lang. has 2 do w/da clear message, since da beginning of time from Adam&Eve dar wasnt any written records til God Almighty talked to Prophet Moses in mount Sinai&b4 dat, da human race kept tryin 2 figure out how to keep records of sacred things of God Almighty alone. i hope dis will educate u a little. i have a lot to say to help educate u but i aint got da time, im @da library, no computer @home.

  • @bigpoopie69 fuck you !!!

  • Oh, also to my brothers, the MAKAHA SONS of NI'IHAU; malo lava mo pese matagofie; fa'amanuia pea le ATUA mo outou uma ma le uso of ISRAEL KAMAKAWIWO'OLE; tofa soifua;

  • I' m from Samoa, i have never meet brother ISRAEL KAMAKAWIWO'OLE he is my Polynesian brother; but, him singing from the heart; absolutely amazing, brother IZ KAMAKAWIWO'OLE for ever; GOD bless, see you in heaven when one day on my return;

  • dANKE

  • is this really Israel?

  • @LaaaMaZ Yes maam!!!!

  • @LaaaMaZ Yes,Yes ,Yes

  • Hermosa interpretacion.... bellisima !!!!

  • He not only loved it FatalityG15, he was part of the band at the time of this recording. He and his brother Skippy were part of a 5 member group that was very popular and loved by many!! They each on their own right were a talented group of people with voices that could touch a heart like the angels songs of above! They sing to us still though they are away and the music is as heavenly as it always was!

  • I just about cried listening to this song, it brings back so much memories of my days in Oahu when i was little in Ewa Beach :)

  • Mit sehr viel GEFÜHL, er geht einfach unter die Haut

  • My Mom Died the same year Brada Iz Died...and I think of her...with him in Heaven Still listening to him. (I saw Skippy and you guys when I was 12 with my Dad in Waianae...The "Original Makaha Sons "...) again Mahalo!

  • This version is from the Ho'oluana album, the cover with the coconut trees on it. IZ sings in this one, you can hear him, Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau were with IZ, without him, they are the Makaha Sons. I love both, but you can hear what's missing, also missing from the original Makaha Sons Of Ni'ihau, IZ's brother Skippy. So Don Ho, IZ, Skippy and Kui Lee is making heaven sound like this for all there, I'm sure they won't mind. RIP to all of them.

  • He was a fantastic man. Everywhere you look, all his legacy is about love, love for people and for Hawaii. Fantastic. IF there is a heaven then im 100% sure that he sits next to god and Jesus. Fantastic role model if you look on his person and attitude. "Dont judge a book on its cover!!!"
