  • Black is BeautiFul

  • yo

  • lol "she has born the weight of this country on her back for 400 years." I stopped at that. LOL too funny.

  • @Amillionmes: Your laughter is probably due to you not being aware that it was the labor and the fruit that came from the labor of black women that provided America all of its wealth. You might not be aware that America never had to pay for the FREE LABOR that came from black women and all the children she bore since 1619. You might be unaware that ALL of America's greatness was jumpstarted because it never had to pay a dime for any of the work performed to raise it to its lofty estate.

  • @Breathofmyancestors I think you overestimate the benefits America received from slavery, or otherwise underestimate America's greatness.

  • @Amillionmes: I think you underestimate the black contribution which is par for the course for a great many white people in America who are usually so full of their own false bravdo that they have extreme myopia.

So I am not surprised. Any people who murdered 100 million natives with impunity with never a thought of apologizing are not really expected to acknowledge their black meal tickets

The very first commodity ever traded on Wall street was black people and America prospered ever since.

  • @Breathofmyancestors Precisely I quote the late Dr James Baldwin one of our brilliant black minds of our time. "To be an illuminated black man or woman in America is to be in a constant state of rage"...Bottom line this government agreed as to many broken treaties of the Indians to give us 40 acres and a mule. It never happened that's why we mus resuscitate the late Marcus Garvy's legacy America will never do right by us. We must separate Malcolm x was right.

  • This video could be life changing for people. This needs to be everywhere!

  • @kierralovesyouuuu new andre 3000 on my channel

  • SO True! Love this Poem!!

  • Absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking. Powerful. Well done.

  • This is beautiful

  • powerful poem.

  • Hey! I'm receiving all your correspondences in my email address. I'll rectify that info on YouTube, so you can go direct. Thank you for subscribing and I'll do the same! Peace, Ty

  • Thank you for your reply and your continued inspiraton! It's particularly inspiring when this medium is used to educate and uplift, as well as entertain. I'm sure there is a way that we can collaborate, somehwere along this way. Let's continue the dialogue! I look forward to checking out your other posts. Peace, Ty

  • @TyMusichameleon : I subscribed to your channel so I could send you an email but I didn't see a way to leave it???

  • Thank you for this post! It has brought me to pause and reflect and remember. Our collective mindset is slowly evolving, but, clearly there are those who would rather remain in the darkness of ignorance. It's not funny. The N word is not humor or affectionate. Imagine calling your best friend "shit"?! Not to digress, but to say that voices like yours and mine WILL change this world, but only if we speak out--like you just did! Thank you.

  • @TyMusichameleon: I completely agree that we have to "speak out". If we don't do it, who will? I appreciate your decision to be proactive and if there is anyway we can collaborate, I am ready, willing and able.

  • What makes black women smile?

Welfare checks and Section 8 housing vouchers.

  • @yaaboygip :What makes them sad is small little minds like yours making ignorant and uninformed comments like the pea-brained one you left here. It is a wonder they can smile at all with sworn enemies like you stalking cyberspace looking for ways to put them down and denigrate them. You are most probably anotomically challenged and have been laughed at by more than one black woman, which would explain your coming here to piss all over them. Go stalk another forum, we don't need you here.

  • This goes out to the author of this poem. Do not be surprised that this poem has been either flagged or disliked. I can understand why some will fear hearing or seeing this poem's imagery under the system of racism/ white supremacy you can expect fierce resistance to any truthful dialogue on racism/white supremacy. I do believe that author has received several racist death threats too. Do not be surprised that this poem would cause that reaction under racism/white supremacy.

  • @wisenatts:As the author, I sincerely appreciate your observation here. You are right, I have received all kinds of negative responses from those who either are ashamed of their ancestors reprehensible behavior or those who would not only continue the same policies & treatment, but would exacerbate them. I am encouraged though by those who understand and empathize. We really need to confront these issues in order to get closure because we are all suffering from Post Traumatic Slavery Disorder.

  • I am not bothered about who loves me or hates me. I just do not want to be mistreated and anyway, shape or form. Please continue to write poems that speak truthfully about racism/white supremacy even though it might be painful to those who are dedicated in keeping the status quo.

  • @wisenatts: I intend to do jus that my brother. I am dedicated to the uplifting of fallen humanity starting with my people first. If you google my name you will find a few more pieces I've written and you can pick my book up at my website. Thanks for you support.

  • Acknowledging the pain that persecution bequeaths, it is vary important recognize that any and all people that are persecuted share a mutuality that unites them. And for this, they can become strong-if not stronger-when they unite against it.

No one group has a "lock" on persecution, nor is it a simplistic race to say to the world "see us, we're the most persecuted."

When you hurt one group you hurt all groups!! Like it or not we're all one group under our chosen God!

  • @rejstewart: The point of this poem is specific to ONE GROUP. There have been no other people in America that suffered chattel slavery where all their customs, culture and traditions were stripped from them. Where they were not allowed to learn, and punished if they attempted to better themselves. Yes, all people have suffered some form of persecution, but in America there is no equal to the Black African. Even the natives, though murdered and maligned, still retained their culture & traditions

  • @Breathofmyancestors It's funny when black people talk about their mistreatment we get the line: "all people have suffered from oppression and no one group has the monopoly on oppression". This is constantly being thrown at us when we dare to speak out about our mistreatment at the hands of those who classify themselves as white. I agree with you and I will add that there is no other group whose every effort has been stymied when we try to break free from the shackles of oppression.

  • @wisenatts Oh yeh, all people suffered, and found relief on the Backs of Blacks in America, that is why they are in America, talking about they suffered, as in pastense. So now they are just joining all those who come to America for a Dream on top of 400 years stolen labor

  • @CalypieAndroid The mistreatment continues worldwide and has helped a tiny minority of people to gain undeserved riches at the expense of the black man and woman.

  • To see how many people viewed this video. You would need to just look directly under the video! From what I can see , over 1 .2 million people viewed it. Once you spot the views, directly under that, is the amount of people who "liked' the video and the amount who 'disliked' the video.. You have over 4k 'likes' and 632 'dislikes'.. Hope that helps!

  • @billionkek Thanks for your help. I was asking if there is a way to find out how many times it has been view TOTALLY, that is other than this particular thread. I know that it has been duplicated over and over and I was wondering if there was a way to find out just how many views that may be?

Thanks for your help anyway, much appreciated.

  • @Breathofmyancestors Oh I see what you mean now. But, no- I'm not sure how to see the accumulated amount of views on all videos. & You're welcome! Take care!!

  • 632 racist who will never be able to make a 'black' woman smile

  • @billionkek : That is interesting, would you please elaborate?

  • @billionkek Yea 632 PEOPLE disliked this video. Just saying, How can anyone NOT be touched by this?. I'm Puerto Rican and I Love it! so for those 632 people who disliked this, have to be racist! ( too me)

  • @billionkek :As a Puerto Rican your experience with America is not too much different from ours, especially if you are dark skinned. I really respect your comment and as the author of this I would greatly appreciate you telling me how you know how many people disliked this. Also, is there a way to find out how many collective views this has? It has been duplicated over and over and it would be good to know how many times it has been viewed totally. Is there a way to find that out?

  • This is a beautiful video.

While it is so important to recognize the black folk weren't the only people to suffer threw the ages and that that there is beauty in all groups of people (along with ugly), it is important to never forget your past and the hurts and disappointments that were perpetrated against you (as a people) lest you repeat your them.

    It's a very nice peace.

  • @rejstewart no people suffered/suffer like we do/did understand this today we still suffer.. No nation of people have been striped from culture family pride humanity like we was/is... We for probly about 330 years in captivity of America weren't even considered human beings at one time.. No no other group endured what we endure..

  • thank you brother.

  • @GG74K This is paying HOMAGE, not about what you've made reference too. Respect it not DISRESPECT it!

  • @GG74K : This not written from insecurity, but rather to uncover all the covered-up greatness that has been deliberately held back from the world with respect to black women. Perhaps if the progenitors of chattel slavery, white supremacy and Jim Crow had not gone to such great lengths to cover up & hide how GREAT WE ARE. Then folk like myself would not find so many occasions to write about it. Oh, and by the way. I don't see you pissing all over the greatness of Jackie O or the Queen of England.

  • @Breathofmyancestors Who are you trying to convince, everybody else, or yourselves?

  • @GG74K : Everything stated here is fact, sir or madam, whichsoever you are. Nobody needs to be 'convinced' of facts. The only thing you need to do with a FACT is verify it. It is clever and typical of your nature not to deal with one fact stated in this piece. The only thing you are sure of is that you dislike it. You ever thought about why this rubs you the wrong way. Why does the truth of this upset you so? And can you deny even one statement put forth here? And what is your need to do so?

  • Comment removed

  • @GG74K :I am not surprised. Have you ever stopped to consider why that is. What is the difference between Africans from the continent and African Americans? Maybe if you sincerely listened to this poem with a sympathetic ear-no; an EMPATHETIC ear, you would hear the reasons for your preference. We are a sick people who have been hurt badly and hurt people, hurt people. Maybe if you stopped to consider the REASONS for your distaste, you would understand better our circumstance.

  • Comment removed

  • @GG74K I suppose it best to end this dialog because you have decided NOT to hear me. This poem is about exactly what you are referring to. It gives you reasons for the differences but, like most white people you TEND (using your term) not to pay any attention to the reasons for this visitation of the past. There has been no closure for the African in America and so there are reasons (pointed out in this poem, which you ignore) for the behavior you detest. The flaw is not genetic, it is systemic.

  • @Breathofmyancestors Are you looking for closure in the external? you think your going to find it in something outside of yourself?...it's an inward journey... Mandela understood this... if you think you have to look to the past to know who you are today, you've missed the whole point...think about it.

  • @GG74K :You think about this. Black American's are the only people in the history of the world who were stripped of all their historical value. Mandela, bless him, was never faced with this problem. We here in America still have to search for ourselves in history books because of deliberate miss-education & racism. I don't here you telling Jewish people to get over their holocaust. Those who have no record of the past can have but little to contribute to the future...think about it.

  • @Breathofmyancestors sexy brain :)

  • @Lozie82: I generally respond to most comments made here. But I'm not sure what to say to this :)

  • i love em i love em!! the creators

  • So POWERFUL!! We are because I am (Sankofa)

  • Beautiful....Black Man your voice and passion is captivating. Thumbs up.

  • Absolutely Beautiful. Nothing less than Absolutely Beautiful. Thank You.

  • Absolutely Beautiful. Nothing less that Beautiful. Thank You...

  • NIGGERS!

  • @DuncanTalks :Your first cousins

  • @09demonicslayer09 : You have my humble apologies. I am so used to people coming here combating that I took that posture almost automatically and I was wrong. I apologize sincerely and pray your life be blessed.

  • @09demonicslayer09 : Disagree to what, that we are all human? Do you disagree with my humanity? WOW, and you say you don't hate. And why would I delete my previous comments? I wrote the poem and stand by every word I said. I just wish people like yourself could find some empathy. It seems that all those transitional years "separating your DNA" has also removed your capacity for compassion., at least with respect to the gist of this poem.

  • @09demonicslayer09: Ok, this video suggest that we are all of the human family and I'm suggesting here that because of racism/white supremacy Black women have been demonized and victimized. I also suggest we are all of the same human family, regardless to the pigment in our skin. So I'm not sure if we are disagreeing when I reiterate that we all have the same original mother and father. ??? Would you allow that this different DNA you reference makes room for racism/white supremacy?

  • @09demonicslayer09: I am not denying the chronology and perhaps the reference to grandmothers is simplistic but the origin of man is what it is. I don't see where I'm off on that at all. What I do note is that a great many white people really make concerted efforts to separate themselves from us in the human family. Would you say those 100000's of years is the cause of that? Why is there so much hate for your brother/sister human being? This different DNA structure, does it make you superior?

  • @09demonicslayer09: What I'm talking about is white people like NeoNazi1982 disrespecting black people with racist lying statements like "blacks made no contributions to the world". Not only did we make substantial contributions but if it weren't for Africans migrating to Europe, white people would not exist. The fact is that all people on this planet are the great, great, great grandchildren of black Africans, including you. Civilization began in Africa and that is scientifically indisputable.

  • @NeoNazi1982 : About as much as you like the fact that your great grandmother was a BLACK AFRICAN...LOL

  • @NeoNazi1982: Disrespect for your foreparents must be extremely painful. If black people had not migrated from Africa to Europe you would not exist. You see, dear Nazi, you are the offspring of black folk. Civilization began in Africa & was carried to Europe, so in essence you are making fun of your great, great, great, great, grandmother. How does that make you feel, to know in your heart of hearts that you despise your own lineage. Hate is a painful emotion. You need to learn to love yourself

  • POWERFUL

  • that's real deep.

  • Incredible!!!!

  • Dr.* King would shed a tear if he saw the comments on this video. I think maybe you ALL have some growing up to do...not an insult, just an observation.

  • @blaine1764 :As the author I completely agree that the amount of hate and obvious fear in some of the threads is ugly indeed. I wrote this as a love poem to black women to demonstrate that some of us get it. Some of us understand. It was not written to turn into a pissing contest. Nevertheless it has become a clear and present indicator of just how polarized we are when it comes to race in America. To your point, we ALL have some growing up to do...

  • When will the African wake up and realize that we are at war, and we are getting our ass kicked because we don't know that we are at war!

  • @SpiritWarrior1957 : I agree that we are at war and have been for more than 400 years. I think the biggest battle of this 400 year war is the one with our own hearts and minds. When we stop fighting against ourselves we will have won the larger battle.

  • When the the African see that we are in a war and we are getting our ass kicked, because we don't know we are at war!

  • ATTENTION NIGGERS, SPADES, COONS, PORCH-MONKEYS, SPOOKS: Niggers are the scum of the earth, useless to society and themselves and cursed by God (curse of Ham). The world would be a better place without this sub-human slave-race (less disease, criminals, laziness and stupidity)

P.S. YOU ALL LOOK LIKE THE SHIT THAT COMES OUT OF MY ASS AND I WANT TO USE YOU ALL AS TOILET PAPER….LOL!

  • @entertainmentvalues2: Your self-hate must be torturous knowing that the so-called scum you refer to are in fact your ancestors. It must kill you to know that your roots are in Africa and if not for black people you would not exist. I feel sorry for your parents who's self-hate was such that it trained you to hate the black blood running through your veins. Hate is born of fear and it is obvious that you are terrified. I pray that almighty God heals your aching heart.

  • @entertainmentvalues2

My BLACK is BEAUTIFUL. always has been & ALWAYS will BE.

  • @entertainmentvalues2 Wow! a real throw back, you must know that your evil ancestors are burning right now, the good thing is you're following them is it because your skin burns when that pale sixth ether scaly skin of yours burn when the sun rays hit it? or is it because your weak genes makes you lose your hair by the age of 21? is it because your women crave bigger dicks? and we all know that you don't cut it.

Is it because that you're the type of cracker that's flat broke ?

  • @entertainmentvalues2 whatever the case my be, I do hope that you live to be 1000 years old down here so you can continue to be punished in your own warp little klu klux world of ignorance, I love it.

If you ever see a dark black GOD like me, don't run, look me in the eye if you can and when you do, I will be happy to let you attempt to take all of your frustrations out on me.

You're nothing but a coward,a bum and a loser.Go back to your trailer park with your 400 lb pale ape whore of yours.

  • @entertainmentvalues2

the devil THAT WROTE/SPEAKS THOSE WORDS THROUGH YOU IS A LIAR!!

  • The Slavery experience is an undeniable part of our history...However prior to Slavery...We also had a history...It is a history that spans Egypt...The Black Jews of Ethiopia...Queen Makeda...Queen Tiye...Queen Nefertari...The Garden of Eden..or Ethiopia...King Menes of Egypt..King Amenhemet....The Dogon of Mali and their knowledge of the Solar System..(.The Original Settlers of Egypt were black)...King Taharka..book of Kings in the Bible 19:9)the Ark of the covenant in Ethiopia. Marcus Garvey

  • All across Americas classrooms and elsewhere every conversation about Black History...seems to start with and with slavery...It is as though we had no history prior to slavery at all...I guess we came to the planet and we were immediately enslaved...I guess we were never in Egypt or a part of the Great African Empires..not to mention the Dogon of mali...why must we define ourselves by Slavery alone....Give me the full story of us...Start with the beginning and then move on

  • Im sick of all the people here saying WHITE PEOPLE are out to get you.that we're all just afraid of 'losing power'.The only person holding you back is yourself.YOU werent the ones who were forced into slavery.A lot of white people did some disgusting things to the africans-but most slaves were traded by theyre own king. Its not the 'white people' who are the problem. its the bad people.I guess what im saying is-why do you have to be proud of your 'race'.why cant we just see each other as equals?

  • @Skeletonparsley : The single problem with your theory and your question is History. We are all here where we are as the result of certain behaviors and yes, we all have been complicit in the existing problems. But they DO exist. They exist as a tumor on the state and the only way to get rid of a tumor is to address it. Denial is the longest river...I wrote this poem as an explanation for why black women don't smile as often as other ethnic groups...it is simply my opinion.

  • @Skeletonparsley When White Prvivledge is acknowledged and not denied by white people in this society, then maybe we can come together. Check out the lectures by Tim Wise. White poeple in this country, today, are still benefiting from those bad white people of yesterday. One can not reap the benefits, but not want to inherent the debts as well. As sick of it as you may well be, ALL of the actions, laws, and images set forth by your white ancestors are about POWER; maintaining and keeping POWER.

  • @thingsthatmakeyougo1 The "White Privilege" you speak of is not only vehemently denied but they go so far as to call Blacks lazy and shiftless when in fact the reverse is true. Most every creature comfort enjoyed by the "Privileged" in this country is enjoyed because of the 'free labor' provided by slave caste-under class of America. We toted that barge & lifted that pale while they sat on their verandas and sipped mint juleps. Most ALL of America's wealth/PRIVILEGE came from FREE SLAVE LABOR

  • @thingsthatmakeyougo1 Well said!

  • People always want to ask " Why are Black women so angry?" .....This is your answer

  • I'm reading the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass and realizing how little I learned about slavery and African American history in middle school and high school. I shouldn't be shocked by this, but am I. Isn't that sad? Isn't it sad how little I know about history. Thank you for opening my eyes, this was beautiful & everyone in America needs to see it.

  • @lavieboheme635: I appreciate you candor. Unfortunately the vast majority of the world knows very little about events that transpired during slavery. The slave owners do all they can to cover their guilt and those who were enslaved do all they can to cover their shame. It is my belief that the only way to heal any wound is to address it and this is one of my humble attempts. I thank you for your compliments.

  • this is a open call to our Men to come home and make us smile again. Bless these poetic words so deep and oh so real. They may prosecute our character but they will never destroy our spirit and our will to move on and forward.

  • @MsChynaholla: You are so right my sister. This is "an open call to our men" to man up and do what's necessary to get us back in shape. I sincerely believe that taking this one step is the first one that will lead us to where Dr. King described as the 'Promised Land"

  • @Breathofmyancestors thank you so much ;0)

  • great video

  • wow....

  • I always make my black queen smile all the time..I make her feel special 24/7!!!

  • what kind of video is this?

  • This is raw.

  • MR. Breathofmyancestors

I Have been viewing your page for a few years now and I LOVE IT AND LOVE YOU FOR DOING IT. WHO CARES IF "THEY" NEVA REALIZE THE TRUTH TO RESSURECT UNLIMITED 70X70 LIES ...IT'S NEVER ENDING BUT WE AIN'T SUPRISED...

    AS YOU SO POIGNANTLY STATED...

“Those are the facts. You can deny them if you choose. They remain the facts even after you deny them.”

I TWO-TIMES CO-SIGN! THANK YOU.. THANK YOU.. THANK YOU!!!!!

God bless you and cover your mind ALWAYZ! AMEN!

  • @ThePurpose22 :I sincerely appreciate you being there. I suppose I should not be, but nevertheless remain, astounded at the level of hate there is in this world. I'm amazed at the depths to which one will go to deny the obvious and how shameless folk can be. Kidnapping, rape, murder; these things come easy to these people. I search for the humanity in them and find myself wanting. I keep praying that something will prompt a change of heart. But alas...if they haven't in 400 years...

  • Wonderful Piece.

  • @sairosekk :Thank you sincerely. I am amazed by how many people are actually offended by this poem. I have received so much hate mail, as you can see by looking through these threads, that I wonder if I'm living in a twilight zone sometimes. This is a love poem to the mother's of civilization; an appreciation note to the vessel through which all of humanity came. So I'm just blown by all the puss. It amazes me how much hate there is in this world. So, I thank you again for your kind words.

  • America became great because the European invaded the land, murdered 100 million natives then kidnapped 20 million Africans and brought them here to provide free labor.

Those are the facts. You can deny them if you choose. They remain the facts even after you deny them.

  • @Breathofmyancestors You should take a deep look at America and how u define the word Great...and what Greatness is....Is Greatness a material experience alone...or is is something Deeper...America is what it is...Greatness is something completely different...

  • @SOLOMONDAYLE : This poem was written because I observed that black women in America don't smile as often as other ethnic groups. That is all. I wholeheartedly agree that we have a glorious history prior to our American experience, some of which are pointed out in the poem. Black people brought civilization to the world and were the very definition of greatness so you have not argument with me on that. I hope this poem didn't suggest otherwise. It in fact is a testament to that very greatness

  • big deal about this bullshit if you do not like it here get the fuck out go back home and see how long you last there not one day

  • same as the cw, breed to exploit our black men.

  • Amen my sister. We just have to learn to love each other and remember the 5th Commandment. When we honor our fathers and our mothers our days will be longer and more prosperous. We have to learn to LOVE instead of hate.

  • thank you Ty for remembering us - bless u and keep you black men women and children - we will reach the promised land - Jah bless

  • @Amenshie: Thank YOU my sister, for being the vessel through which all of us came.

We have to remember the 5th Commandment and learn to love instead of hate. Then we shall most assuredly reach that land that was promised.

  • WOW

  • When I want to make a black woman smile, I shows her muh' dick. And my bank.

  • @jazzbo13 : I guess she's tickled by the fact that she needs a magnifying glass to find both.

You should take your buffoonary to some forum where it is appreciated cause your ignorance is not appreciated here.

  • I really want to know the name of the music.

  • @Dredgephantom2 : I'm not sure I understand. Can you elaborate?

  • @Breathofmyancestors I am sure you can tell that is one very confused individual.

  • Very nice video

  • As a Hurricane Katrina survivor living in the Carolinas. People wake up this is the way White People feel about us as Black People. This is suppose to be the "Bible Belt" and I have never seen so much Hatred in my Life for the color of my skin. I am hated by White Folks because of the mixing of the White and Black Blood. Until this Divided States of America realizes that Racism is alive and well in this United States of America, you will see this Hatred put on Public Forums as this one.

  • @nicoye45 : I understand your pain. It is really frustrating. Racism is alive and well and the best thing that black people can do is to learn to love themselves. The only way to combat hate is with love.

  • AMEN,GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL AFRICAN WOMAN...THANK YOU

  • Fucking Abraham Lincoln! These dusky beasts should be working in the fields right now. Abolish slavery? Why not just unlock the doors to the ape house at the zoo? These animals aren't fit to roam free. I just wish the murder rate amongst these savages was higher than their birth rate.

  • @jazzbo13: I sincerely understand your frustration sir given the fact that your great great grandmother was more than likely one of the same people you hate so much. Miss-education is a major cause of self-hate. You have been trained to hate the very blood that courses through your veins and I honestly pity you for having to look at yourself in the mirror daily and know that your Ancestors are black. I think that's why Rush Limbaugh takes so many drugs. He can't stand the black in him :(

  • @jazzbo13 I would like to be within 5 feet of u.....even for just 5 minutes

  • @snickerbar4u1 Why? What would you suggest we do?

  • I am not sure how this has happened but it appears that this video has become a dumping ground for those who want to spew hate. As the writer of this poem please understand that it is not about hate at all. It is about RECOGNITION. Acknowledgement that is long over due to the vessel that has been America's meal ticket = the Black Woman.

  • * this is a really beautiful, captivating work of art , gave me chills through the entire poem. It gave me a since of pride to be a woman of AFRICAN DECENT. :]

  • This is painful to watch at times...... As black men we have failed our women to a profound degree............ :-(

  • @SithLordNefaar022 SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO STRAIGHT TO HELL.

  • @AllthingsSweet22

Was the matter scumbag??? You offended from what i said?

It's okay, what you've just said is the typical reaction a truth-teller gets in the world these days..

You must be either A) Some ignorant worthless white idiot or B) A thoroughly brain-washed

black man who can't tell what's up or down or just as equally ignorant of the facts...

Either way, it matters not to me, my st8ment speaks for itself. So if it hurts that bad, I

recommend you Have a coke & a smile n STFU!

  • @AllthingsSweet22: I am curious to know what infuriated you so? I cannot find the comment that sparked such a violent response.

  • This is so true, events of the pas, that continues to this very day! We as a culture and people, need to wake up, because even this video depicts past history of white america, we've learned to hate everything about our very being to the point of doing this to our own. The author of this video as well as the narrator, states this very well.

  • This is so true, events of the pas, that continues to this very day! We as a culture and people, need to wake up, because even this video depicts past history of white america, we've learned to hate everything about our very being to the point of doing this to our own.

  • Totally moving~ ASHE!

  • i first seen this at a young black male conference.... i love this poem....I'm going to write something similar something like it

  • YESSSSSS :))) Spoken from the lips of a very wise brother....thank youuuu...this IS another gift of inspiration for me and my children as we pursue our passions in life...thank you. We must know where we started from in order to get to where we want to be...thank you again....may Yahweh bless you even more so :))

  • Beautifully bittersweet.

  • SELAH!!!

  • Love this!!!

  • ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! THIS IS FANTASTIC!

  • BEAUTIFUL! THANK YOU TY! HOTEP BROTHER

  • Woow, this vid is the best ever. My lady deserves respect and love...yes, she deserves a smile.I wish my mother was alive to share in it. very inspiring

  • SAY IT SAY IT I LUV I'M SMILEING NOW.

  • @cricket3362 ME TOO!!!!!!!!! lol VERY DEEP man IT MADE CRY and at the end SMILE:)

  • @dsportnissan, I agree with everything you say & thanks for your reply :) My comments to the -(author) have been flagged as spam?? I think he misunderstood my question and now blanks me, Oh well i still think its a great peom and very moving. I have to say that if people concentrate on the racism thing, then they will see racism in everything, even when it isnt even there.

  • @ThisAlbion: 1st let me state that no one has been flagged to my knowledge. As the author of this I welcome all comments and have never flagged anyone. Now I don't know if those who maintain Youtube have blocked any comments??

Concerning seeing racism, anyone living in America that does not 'see racism' is ether extremely myopic or has deliberately donned blinders. The country was founded on racism & is sustained by racism. Ignoring 1 percent of the population being incarcerated is an example.

  • Bro obviously this video is riling up something in some people, we're up against some dark evil principalities that don't want blacks to come together, that don't want black men to love and respect each other, think about why that may be. I think black love is a serious threat to some, they would rather for us to kill and hate each other. Well bro I hope you keep doing what you're doin, because you're like a bouquet of flowers in the middle of a field of cow manure, very refreshing, love ya bruh

  • @phatblackwoman: What we are up against is those who see their meal-ticket disappearing before their eyes. The true welfare recipient in America is the one who's profited from our free labor for over 300 years and the threat of losing that is frightening to them. Most people are inherently good I believe, but there are a those manipulators who have poisoned the minds of many and have bought into the notion that they're superior and we're inferior. The destruction of that blatant lie terrifies...

  • @Breathofmyancestors TRUTH. Yes Obama started something. I seriously believe that whites are SCARED of losing their power and control and think that if BLACKS were to come into the same power they have, that we would want to enslave them, rape them, and treat them like animals like they did to us. So white people are sending you death threats? That's crazy and makes no sense that a video about paying homage to our black female predecessors brings out that type of response in some people. WOW

  • @phatblackwoman ...they are terrified that blacks will wake up & see we are not lazy & shiftless like we were told but our historical contributions to the world were vast & our contributions many. We will wake up to the fact that our legacy was stolen & our labor hijacked. They are scared of us realizing that slavery never was actually abolished according to the 13th Amendment & we'll stop filling their prisons with free laborers. They are frightened that we might learn to love ourselves again

  • @Breathofmyancestors Absolutely, I agree with you something is threatening to them and you pretty much laid it out. They don't want us to love, support and be loyal to each other because once we become unified and get organized, it's over with for them when it comes to them dominating us with mental enslavement. Very deep.

  • And why does everything have to be a trend to people? Why does it matter what others think about us? They hate us because of the color of our skin, white supremacy is so deeply rooted, it's NEVER gonna go away until white people go away and they will make sure that never happens. So we got to love ourselves and forget what the rest gotta say, they will never embrace us and really we shouldn't be concerned about pleasing the others anyway

  • @phatblackwoman Wow...obviously you really didn't listen to this poem or either you are just confused. Whatever, just know that this was written out of love and respect for black women, whom rather you admit it or not, have been chastised, demonized and terrorized in this country just for being black.

I don't even know if your argument makes sense. I'm confused by what you say. ???

  • @Breathofmyancestors I liked the poem, I didn't like the comment on the board that said we were at the bottom of society.

  • @phatblackwoman My apologies. I totally misunderstood your comment because it wasn't specifically addressed to anyone. So again, you have my apologies.

I have received so many crazy comments that some times I kinda push back. I thank you for your support.

  • @Breathofmyancestors No problem, I think I also misunderstood. If you did the poem, you did an a-1 job. I was just being hypersensitive.

  • @phatblackwoman Again thank you and yes, I am the author of this piece. If you put Ty Gray-EL in the search here you will find a few more that I wrote.

About this piece, I have received death threats and hate-mail from all kinds of folk here. If you read back through some of the comments you will see that this poem struck a nerve with a lot of people. It has been copied on over 100,000 web pages and copied here more than 10 times with about 40 videos made in response to it.

    Thanks again

  • @Breathofmyancestors Death threats? Are you kidding me? Why? Just because you dedicated a video to black women? Let me guess, most of them have been from some of those self-proclaimed black "hebrew israelites" that hate black women? See what I would do is report their arse to youtube, even if it's just online, you should take a threat very personal and seriously. I wouldn't even let them post but I know it helps with getting the numbers up and wow, 1million viewers +.

  • Who's at the bottom of society? Wow for a black man to think that about his women you are just pathetic. White supremacy is the only thing that needs to change that puts everything the opposite of blond hair and blue eyes at the bottom. Wow some black men don't even realize that they are showing their own feelings about black women when they say things like that. Anyway, anybody noticed how buzz words that contain BLACK WOMEN get thousands of hits? Yep we on ppl mind day and nite

  • @phatblackwoman My sister, who are you referring to or what comment are you responding to here?

  • @Breathofmyancestors I guess you since you are referring to black women as being at the bottom of society just as a white person would? How could a black man that "loves" black women ever consider us in that way? That would mean you subscribe to white supremacy. You would never hear me say that about black men because to me, black men are a prize and of course white supremacy and some black women haters will consider us the bottom of society but not those that profess to love us, smh

  • nice

  • Sad, emotional, wonderful, spiritual, great poem and video. Very few major motion pictures will be made from the black woman's point of view, but this short video says it all.

  • @nkwari : Thank you sincerely. This comment is very rewarding and I truly thank you for taking the time to make it.
