  • 5:27 Jizz face.

  • Sorry I meant Nells :p

  • It' AWESOME!! That guitar solo are unbelieveable, Neil you're a God!

  • Epic....

  • Fucking awesome lyrics and beautyful/heavenly guitar solo...

  • Nels Cline is my favorite contemporary guitar player.

  • Such an awesome song, but i couldnt stop laughing @ 5:38

  • what is the meaning of this song, I can't get it...

  • @InVinoVeritas55 That's because you're german...

  • Esto es musica y no lo del justin bieber.

  • I respectfully disagree fix135, I think the twin guitar attack is just complementing the solo and Nel's guitar doesn't need to be louder , it is just there sneacking in and out as you can see at the end when he in returns complements Tweedy and the other guitar player. Wilco os a great band cause they're incredible musicians with no ego who just add to the whole . Fucking love them! Have had two chances to see them and still haven't , all these years! stupid stupid stupid!

  • @TheJerryo1972 That's how I feel too. The mix works well. The solo isn't meant to drown out the rest of the instruments. It's packed nicely in the center of the rest of the mix quite nicely. This is my favorite version of the song in fact.

  • Heard this on Thursday live, in San Sebastian, they really have an incredible live performance. After the show, Nels gave me his pick, they're very kind with fans

  • Maravilloso tema.

  • Germany is possible for this song ;) give it a try and come over here.

  • great version of a great song

  • Love this band and Niels´ playing and tone, as well as Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd from Television. Bought a Fender Jazzmaster yesterday :)

  • really nice guitar tones and killer solo

  • 8 people thought Germany was possible

  • I've seen many different performances of this tune, but this has to be the coolest. Nels really lets loose and strays from the album solo. Great vid! Thanks for putting it up!

  • good song title. the meaning? Hitler's utopian idea of germany in the future was impossible?

  • This is nuts, cant believe what im hearing :o

  • @blipzandstripz amen

  • 5:30 Call 911 the dudes having a seizure.

  • @BarrettMasada

    you made me smile man...

  • Oh, have i just seen my friend in the crowd?

  • 5:26 I looked into music and I saw its true face

  • I can't believe I got the chance to see them live in a small venue! The are fucking awesome! :D

  • It seems unlikely that they would play this song in Japan. Quite unfortunate.

  • Yay I got my tickets today.

  • nels is completely possessed near the end of this performance...... freakin' brilliant and inspiring

  • The sound man should have been shot. When the guys go into the twin licks around the 4 1/2 minute mark, the solo gets almost completely drowned out. Sparks are almost coming off his fingers and you can barely hear it, what a shame. Other than that? Awesome song.

  • What a band...Fucking Awesome!!!! *_*

  • @blipzandstripz Fukin A man, I want some of what you were on...

  • LOVE THIS SONG! The guitar is amazing!

  • im from germany and......i love wilco <3

  • 3m10s -- is that an egg beater??

  • I swear, this is literally the best guitar solo I have ever heard. NO question. Forget about all of the legends, Nels Cline is my favorite guitarist ever.

  • @AdmiralDonuts Are you f-ing kidding me? I've played for 2 years and this is shit. Go watch Petrucci, Gilbert or Satch if you want to here some real guitar playing.

  • @JPbestrock listen, yeah Satch, Gilbert, Petrucci, Vai, McKee,Lane, Emmanuel and more are all amazing. we know. but its a different style. Never put down a guitarist just because they dont appeal to your particular style. If you have been playing that long you should realize. Guitar is a beautiful thing, everyone takes it in their own style. Just listen to the music. Its all expression. Donald trump makes more than most americans do, does that mean he works harder? No. Enjoy the music dude.

  • @JPbestrock To me, shredding is not impressive. Gilbert is the only of the three that you mentioned that I can somewhat tolerate. What's impressive is innovation. From the opinion of someone who has played for over 10 years, Nels is a much better guitarist than any of those people. Being so closed-minded will get you nowhere as a musician. Someday, you may learn what truly incredible guitar work is.

  • @JPbestrock I think you are going to find that your favorite players are Nels Cline fans. I've been playing for 36 years and have been exposed to nearly every major player out there and a whole lot of people never heard. Nels is the quintessential guitarist.

  • @JPbestrock

You, my friend, are a clown....

You will go through life listening to and playing absolute shite with an attitude like this.

Nels Cline is one of the most inspiring and talented guitarists on the planet.

  • @misskapranos ur gay as hell

  • @CyberLimited10 -"You're"

  • Nels Cline is a beast

  • i first heard this song in the middle of nowhere snow surrounding me waiting for a bus late as hell for a job interview nervous about everything not believing there even is a bus and i'd stay stuck. turned the radio on because i wasnt able to listen to any of my music. and the second i turned it on- the guitars. everything disappeared. there were only snowflakes and the beautiful smell of the winter air. no anxiety. just me alone in a beautiful world. god smiled at me!

  • the solo is sooo nice and refreshing,no jerking off look at me

  • I'd just like to say that this is probably one of the best uses of a Jazzmaster I've ever seen. This song, and this video, is pure magic.

  • that guy with the jazzmaster took E before the concert

  • @SoullsTheGoal Ha! for your comment to rawesomef... also it's like bein at the show with all these comments. I feel the love that Wilco fans bring to a show, I'll say they've got some of the best fans

  • @SoullsTheGoal Ha! for your comment to rawesomef...

  • Great video production..that is all.....

  • These "conversating" guitars remind me of the Allman Bros.

  • an egg beater is showing at 3:18!!! Somebody explain me what's its use in music LOL!!!!!

  • @BilisNegra Nels. Enough said.

  • This song tells me that no doubt Wilco still have it. And that's so necessary and great!!!

  • This is just amazing. I love how everyone else has to work in teams so they don't get lost in Nels banshee.

  • a band where one guitarist has an sg, one has a tele and one has a jazzmaster, has to be good....

  • @jwoodonthebass44 Amen to that, brother.

  • Yes!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Any wilco concert or alblum is always worth waiting for thumbs up if you agree

  • best damn live guitar solo evar recorded in the last 15 years perhaps

  • nels is a bit like jerry garcia crossed with j mascis (thats a rough estimate)

  • #OMG Chicken Flow - O Lendário Chucrobillyman

  • This may need to be flagged as adult content, with Nels doing his thing and all...

  • @pjw2000 LMFAO hahahaha

  • Nels Cline is a boss hog

  • Comment removed

  • what does nels do with that whisk? i always see it on stage with him, but i've never seen him use it

  • Excellent Audio! Amazing! Who's running the board?

  • Agree that Nels Kline is perhaps the most transcendent guitar player ever. Who needs acid when you have Nels on the headphones?

  • IMPOSSIBLE WORLD, IMPOSSIBLE LOVE, I MISS YOU

  • @blipzandstripz how stoned were u? lol

  • damn this is good!

  • I love the solo on this song.. beautiful!

  • 5:30 = CUMMING IN HIS PANTS

  • I’ve never seen a pickguard on a guitar be quite as necessary as the one on Nels’ Jazzmaster.

  • spine shivering solos

  • wow this is amazing :) My first song of this band :DDDD

  • chef ramsay can shred

  • nice joke..

  • I really like this band, but I kind of hate that I do. The lead singer is a complete and total asshole. See them live, you will see what I mean.

  • @jrivers3206 I was front row and Jeff was gracious, smiling the whole time, a real gent and a great fellow. He was probably having a bad night when you saw them. Watch some interviews man he's like the nicest guy in the world.

  • @busajasweyoo How do I put this lightly... You're a fucking knob.

  • Not impossible, just lessons in life and history.

  • I really wish I were nearly as talented as any of these guitarists.

  • Comment removed

  • Super like

  • To me YFH is a standout ut it was my introduction to them (I was 30!) - the album was just so....?FULL , yes full. I really disliked YHF first time I heard it, but after a week the love affair began and it was with me for months driving all and sundry around me nuts. I used to leave parties early so I could go home put on YHF kinda loud, roll a big joint and just zone out - by the time I got to Poor Places (my fave song) I would be in heaven - yes YHF for me but it's all good

  • Cada vez que escucho este solo, se me pone la piel de gallina.

Everytime I hear this solo, it gives me goosebumps.

  • @gotaids I'm sorry about you for beeing a moron.

  • for a second i thought i was hearing there album, i had to click back to the video to make sure.

  • long live Nels Cline

  • I hope they never play this song in Germany. It would be impossible.

  • @rawesomefanz

why is it impossible? and why you hope they will never play this song in germany? here are a few of big wilco fans too

  • @rawesomefanz and it would be unlikely that they play it in Japan.

  • @rawesomefanz It would be more unlikely in Japan.

  • @rawesomefanz The first witty youtube comment that's ever made me lol. ha

  • @rawesomefanz Why do these lame comments always get voted up ? They are neither clever nor witty.

  • @rawesomefanz :

they did, they do and probably / hopefully will do again in november...

  • @rawesomefanz greatest. comment. ever.

  • @rawesomefanz It's unlikely to be played in Japan, too

  • @rawesomefanz yeah, unlikely in Japan either

  • @rawesomefanz Unlikely to be played in Japan also...

  • @rawesomefanz -_-...

  • NELS CLINE IS A BEAST!

  • Before 4:38 - One of the best things I have ever heard.

4:38 onward - The best thing I have ever heard.

  • @passthesun :O solo not included in teh best?!?

  • @thecelticmandolin1 Hmmm, good call. Maybe on second thought... 0:00 onwards = the best thing I have ever heard. =D

  • Feel like :59 ;)

  • I cant tell if Nels Cline is closer to coming in his pants or having a seizure.

  • What a brilliant song!!! brilliant band that needs more recognition.

  • The face Nels Cline is making during that minute long trill makes me a little uncomfortable. haha

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥nels cline♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Great song from a fantastic band.

  • best song television never wrote =P

  • @rootsradic hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahaha my fingers fell off.

  • 5.30 - jizz in my pants.

  • @indierickenbacker hahahhahaha

  • What a Magic Solo! I love this song :)

  • wilco

  • check nels cline's jazz with grolsch (beer) straplocks at 5:26

  • Here's a band that doesn't get much attention, cause they don't follow the formula!!

It's called talent! They can make music!! <3

  • Gozei.

  • What a great song, live even better than the recording. Gonna see Wilco nexht month in Groningen

  • Favourite! They are excellent! I like this live version very much. Very nice sound from guitars. Amazing performance. And very nice solo full of emotions. What a end!

    Nice work Wilco.

  • Impossible chimney un-lakely Japan. Well some us are listening even if we misconstrue some words. Ha. Heart-wrenching song

  • @11xzxzxz

    Correct.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 Right smart Rock ..ha. I should have said "Impassable chimneys and Lakes of Japan" To be a smart dumb ass I could explain this as the chimneys from the Holocaust of Germany and the Nuking of Japan's lakes in WW2 ... and as Bryan Ferry sang "you can guess the rest". A gorgeous song live (I think I once mentioned to you that the CD version was not as good .. they make some improvements .. very unusual).

  • @11xzxzxz

But your comments stand on their own two feet, and are understood by more than you know. One doesn't need to look "In your eyes," to get the picture.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 Well maybe they stand but just letting u know asking is fine. And I think you get most completely .. but others don't as you just wrote so I'm not sure if my comments stand on their own two feet and they might dance and slip a little too. I missed one implication when I blogged on your site which "shook me" a little and I've done it before. 11xyxyxy would like a new name, damn it. You might remember I am 60sbest and can access that but I don't want to do the horrible switch.

  • @11xzxzxz But I also could have written, "I am Listenin.'

    Peace.

    Rock

  • @rockinroller7 That makes sense. By the way this is not the best Wilco .. I will send the best to you someday .. it's in my Favorites.

    Sending my best,

    Let's Roll, Rock (Neil)

  • nels' guitar looks like it has endured about 10,000 epic solos...

  • great song! 5:26 to 5:50 made me laugh though

  • 2:41 until the end is one of my favorite build ups of all time.

  • I heard walkin on the radio forever ago, then looked em up here. This is the second Wilco song I ever heard, and it's pretty much ruined Wilco for me. All their other stuff is good, but this song set the bar kind of high. Nel's solo is most awesome sight sound combo ever!!! Just perfect. I wished I'd heard more of their stuff before this.

  • @CvillePippin yeah im the same way, i like their other stuff but it just does not compare to this, it would be like listening to Funeral For a Friend...love lies bleeding as your first elton john song. The solo is the perfect blend of technique and taste.

  • @CvillePippin Sky Blue Sky as an album is great.

  • Soooooo tight! What an incredible performance!

  • going to the wilco festival in MA!

  • @elurseeknay when is that?

  • Wow. Excellent picture and audio. Thanks for posting. This band is at the top of my "must see" list. They are wonderful musicians, and Jeff Tweedy has written so many great songs. The DVD "Ashes of American Flags" is also well worth checking out.

  • best song of wilco.

  • Yikes..awesome, awesome song. Can listen to repeatedly...

  • nice jam

  • this guitar is stuck on my mind

  • maybe the best video on you tube..

  • people just don't respect good music anymore, they're too interested in pop and rap.

  • Look as much as I love Wilco, this performance is just the same as the one I saw in Wellington, NZ. But they are a good live band and one of the best acts I have seen live, the album recordings since YHT have lacked consistency and there is no doubt that the absence of Jay has too much to do with that. the band is good, but i have barely listened to Wilco the Album cos it simply is not that good.

  • nels is way better than bennet, and that solo is much different than other ones.

  • Nels Cline is such a badass!

  • What's with the egg beater at about 3:15?

  • @redmosqito1

Believe it or not, Nels actually plays that egg beater. Can't remember which song(s), but I've seen him do it!

  • Man, Jeff Tweedy is getting old. :(

  • Where is the Nels Cline signature Jazzmaster?

  • More people need to hear Wilco's music. There's a craftmanship missing from a lot of guitar-based bands that these guys have in spades.

Recruiting underground legend Nels Cline was icing on the cake.

  • Nels Cline is incredible.

  • Love the song, but the video editing is way too busy. I get dizzy watching that. I can't tell what's going on half the time.

  • Wilco never disappoints.

  • this is definitely a song to add to my favourites!

  • I wanna know what Nels is gonna do with that eggbeater! WILCO!!!!!!!!!

  • who will have a longest fingers Nels Cline or Paul Gilbert?

  • Impossible load, unlikely cleanup

  • Impossible load

  • Great song love the jam but the guy looks like he blows a load in his pants with the solo.

  • awesome song and nice jazzmaster

  • Ear-gasm

  • Comment removed

  • i'm sorry for being a novice in this field, but what are the lyrics about if not, at least partly, about WWII?

  • According to Jeff in an interview on the DVD for this album, the lyrics are about getting out of denial and "waki
