well im lucky because my target is selling the HD Flip Ultra for the same prive as a 2nd generation Flip Ultra,

You can see the difference, but not enough to pay the extra. If you want HD just get an HD dedicated camera. When it comes to the lighting and the colors each picks up, there is a big difference, but nothing that can't be corrected with color correcting.

the ultra has been updated for brightness (dark areas) compared to the mino which FAILS in dark areas, looks blotchy and you cant see anything at all.

What are you trying to say with your Annotation at the beginning? That the 2nd gen (new) Flip UltraHD is NOT HD? That the 2nd gen UltraHD has the same video quality as the non-HD mino?

I got confused looking at the comments but just for future sake, the left video IS the flip ultra and the right video IS the Flip mino HD, when people are saying they are switched they are right as the camera he is holding in his right hand is the flip ultra and mino is on the left. but The video is right. The headings under each video are representative that of the camera.

IMHO the ultra looks better, you can see that the paper on the desk, the light switch and the rag are actually white, where the mino hd is tainted.

also it cheaper, more durable, takes batteries, and records for twice as long.
