  • This is why Obama is so popular with my generation!

    Even in Canada

  • This interview was cut, but the making school lunches healthier part????? Ummm no. Your not supposed to tell us what our children eat and don't eat your not their father or mother. studies show that of you followed all the rules they have about eating, you'll starve to death. Don't listen to this guy

  • That was just brilliant. After all the crap that's been going on in the world this year, it's nice to see something that cheers you up and gives you a bit of hope for the future :)

  • good job damon! :)

  • This is very cute. I am happy to see that President Obama took this young reporter seriously. And this little guy is setting a wonderful example for other children. I hope that he gets other kids to follow his lead.

    Wonderful job done!

  • How is this kid getting interviews with Obama and D-Wade?

  • 9:43 - best part of this interview

  • Great interview! Glad to see some young people taking their education seriously and able to to convey that through their behavior around the President!!

  • Good Job Damon! From Atlantis

  • I support Obama's position and ideals on schooling. Being belgian myself, we have the benefit that all schools are funded on an federal base, which translates to a true "no child left behind act". Obama is very aware of the influence the US has on a global scale and he is involved with the UN and ASEAN, as profoundly as in his interiour homeland situation

I am glad to see that, after 2 terms of politcal failure, fraud and economic regress, the States finally have a just and compasionate leader

  • if damon wasn't a kid u can tell obama was bout to say dwyane aint got no game trash talkin bout me!?! i'll take him to the hole

  • Awesome!

  • and you are a very very good boy!!!

  • wow it is actually a very nice interview. i know he is young but it is nice to see him getting involved at an early age. also obama was very friendly and he even simplified his english so the message would be clear which was terrific. it was just nice to watch

  • This kid is such a G! You've gotta have guts to compose yourself the way you did in front of the president.

  • Obama said alot of "uh´s" in his interview.

  • damn this kid did a better job than some of the other reporters i've seen give interviews.

  • at least this kid isnt like justin bieber. This guy has good talent.

  • i am actually impressed and happy with damon weaver, hes not like some jackhead like justin bieber and all those gay singing crap. This gay actually has some good talent.

  • Awesome.

  • oh my Goodness Damon you are amazing! I wish you more than the best for the future, you are already on the way, keep doin what you do! Seriously I think its clear to everybody that you have a bright future ahead of you.

  • HAHA He's now his homeboy!

    I wish i had Damon's luck, congratulations!

I can honestly say that the ONLY unfortunate part of this interview is hearing that President Obama can no longer dunk :(

Damon did a wonderful job representing young students across the country!

  • damon is gonna be a huge reporter. he's already interviewed everyone

  • Good job, Damon. You're getting better. Please keep your grades up & present these videos to college recruiters when you get to high school! You'll have a great future after you finish your undergrad studies.

  • i love that kid:D

  • Damon and I prepared all of the questions. I asked our White House Contact if he wanted to look over the questions before the interview. He refused to because he wanted this to be a ligitimate interview.

  • Thanks for that CanalPointKECTV. It might be worth adding that comment to the video description sidebar.

    Peej

    Great work!

Keep it up and I'm sure one day you'll be a famous reporter :)

  • great kid. damn smart child

  • good work kiddo !

  • Nobody but Barack Obama, would have agreed to do this, on his own. And that he takes him serously is really positive.

You got to be proud of the kid to.

  • This was great how even though a kid was giving questions, the president treated it as if its an interview with Katie Couric.

  • What a lucky kid...

  • cool thats amazing because that the president

  • Haha President Obama sounded real country when he said "tater tots". This was a great interview.

  • I'm very proud of Damon and what he achieved so far in his young life. I hope he excels in whatever he wants to pursue in adulthood. Go Damon :-)

  • What a great kid. He's so previleged to talk to all these famous people.

Keep it up and he might as well be the best in the future

  • you're the man! we need more young kids and people like you. i hope this is going to inspire!

  • this kid is hilarious! good on yer mate :)

  • how many home boys does he have ?

  • 6,000,000,000

  • Epic Win, Love Obama.

  • stay srong boy. keep following your dream, we need young kids like you to be role modle for the little one's.

  • that boy is going to be one amazing journalist

    great job :)

  • the man!

  • LUCKY! I wish I could interview Obama. He's hot!

  • DAMON IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!

  • bless . . . .

  • I would crap myself.

  • Would u like to become my homeboy? Aww, that was adorable!! Obama's right, there must be someone in that school n also his parents that's doin somethm right. Just hope he keeps up the good work n not get side tracked.

  • this boy take after to arnold's movie!!! very nice!!! mr.obama n1 in the world!

  • Sean Hannity take notes on how to do a constructive interview. This young man is better than Hannity could ever be.

  • @dhwrd3X I agree 100% Keep in mind now Mr. Hannity is not a journalist. Damon Weaver knows how to talk to people and he is fair in his questions. I am sure other reporters who have some respect for the office of the President will learn from Damon.

  • Damon is a good edition to the fourth estate. :)

  • Mr. Obama and Mr. Weaver would be wise to remember the following:

"There are many people who really don't understand what is the great issue between the Free World and the Communist World. Let them come to Berlin." - President John F. Kennedy

As well as, "the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue - the belief that the rights of man come NOT from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God." - J.F.K.

  • Obama is cool.

  • LOL @ 9:13 i thought he was gonna say they start actin a fool...

  • it wasn't afraid to ask some questions. He had obama studdering on some of them

  • good points on both sides. Damon is mature beyond his years, and Obama attempts to address him as an equal (while choosing words carefully so as not to conflate things). Awesome presentation by both!

  • *grins*

  • This lil' man has got it going on! Most reporters wait their entire lives to score ONE big interview, but he's been able to tap into the big names! Obama, Oprah, LL Cool J, Samuel Jackson, Colin Powell, etc. He always looks sharp! Keep going and live the dream Damon!

  • lol. That was cute.

  • the kid is good, lol

  • Great Job.

  • eeeeee

  • lol this was good that obama did

  • Love this! You deserved it!

  • "He's very tall and nice."

  • Great interview, very moving.

I love how Obama takes the kid seriously and answers with respect and sincerity. Especially the questions an adult interviewer wouldn't ask, like the bullying one or "what's it like to be president"?

Did you notice how Obama leans forward so he's nearly at eye level with his interviewer?

Great job for both of them!

  • ohh he was so cute when he said "thank you for making my dream come true"

  • I just dont understand how people could hate obama as a person. I mean. DAMNIT. Look at this guy! he is giving this kid so much respect. Helping him become a man by showing him that he matters. I could cry. But i wont.

support this man. he does the right thing. even when its not easy.

  • I totally agree with you. President Obama is a great man. I really feels that he truly cares about all of us.

  • Wait a minute, he's 11 in elementary school?

  • It depends on the district or state he's in. My elementary school went up to grade 6. Most kids leaving were eleven, or twelve if their birthdays were earlier in the year.

  • yes, I remember being 11 in grade 5 and no I didn't fail any grades.

  • Age 11 would be 5th or 6th grade.

  • Funny, unfortunatelly I didnt undestand to that sympathic young man.:-(

  • It's so great to see them both take this seriously. This could have easily become a joke... but it's not. I love that!

  • obama rocks!!!!!!!

  • he's so lucky to meet the president

  • "It just goes to show you how one voice can change a room. And if it can change a room, it can change a city. And if it can change a city, it can change a state. If it can change a state, it can change a nation. If it can change a nation, it can change the world,"

    Fired Up! Ready to Go!

  • I love mangoesssss

  • "Would you like to become my homeboy?"

....greatest question ever to ask the President, period

  • what a great little guy! he's a better ineterviewer than many of those adult scary polician, iam looking fowards for this guy, i wish he's the president after 30~ years. Though i must say, that obama is the best president of us so far they've ever had.

  • half a million views!

  • This is pretty cool that this kid got this opportunity to do this.

  • I thought it was was good, He had alot of confidence for an 11 year old, He could have spoken a bit cleaerer though.

  • lol so he finally got his interview with Obama. Nice

  • I love him, he is the cutest thing ever

  • OMG! How super COOL it is to have the President and Vice President as your homeboy!!

  • I am so proud of this young man. The people that are working with this young should be commended as well. It is so refreshing to see young black children in a positive light.

  • I think we got a future President on our hands! :)

  • I'm so proud of both of them! Great interview...especially the "bully" questions.

  • Hey, that little guy has got some professionalism in him! Good job! Keep up the hard work!

  • this is so cute :)

  • Mangoes and Damon are GREAT!

A very fine interview - your questions, appearence, and composure were all very well done. Keep up the good work!

  • Enjoyed the video, great interview for a young man such as himself :) It's a shame how many people are taking this video as their personal opportunity to vent.

  • What a great interview. A great young man, and a great young President.

  • Damon you asked very important questions. It is suh a pity to see that some "adults" are showing EVERY child there dark-side. I believe that they live in tiny, and sad world.

  • Damon you asked very important questions that I wished some of these 'so-called professional interviewers would be brave enough to do instead of producing low-to-no" graded news commentaries. It is pitiful that these "adults" are showing EVERY child their dark-side. I am sure they live in world that is so tiny, sad and pitiful. I believe that they are not aware that they are destroying the foundation of the Constitution of the United States.

  • I would like to see an infographic comparing the number of who want to keep Obama out of the schools with the number of people who want to keep God in the pledge of allegiance.

  • Damon you asked very important questions that I wished some of these 'so-called professional interviewers would be brave enough to do instead of producing "low-to- no quality graded news. It is pitiful that these "adults" are showing EVERY child there dark-side. Often, people with negative attitudes live within a nagative lifestyle which is a sad thing. Selfish greed and arrogance have been known to detroy the greatest empires.

  • What a great example of a very well informed young man!

Good Job Damon! I am proud of you!

  • this kid is awesome! my heart swells...

  • Reagan addressed school children and pushed tax reduction. Bush Sr also addressed kids and pushed the Gulf War. So now its Obama's turn -and he intends to encourage kids to excel. What's the problem? I believe Obama should follow the lead of past Republican presidents. Why NOT push his agenda for health (insurance) reform, green jobs and all-around compassion?

  • This is a great interview from an up and coming black man. I look forward to seeing what this young man will do in the future.

  • What an awesome job!! You are one of my new heros!! Keep working and I hope to get to vote for you in 35 years1

  • This channel is a propaganda outlet.

  • Future of our great nation is in the hands of Young children in school now. I am a Pediatrician working in a small American town. I think, we need to inspire our children and create dreams in our children. This is a good beginning in positive direction.

  • I teared up at "thanks for making my dream come true". What an awesome kid!

  • What a great way to raise approval ratings and solidify the government as the end all be all! Go OBAMA!!!! Make this country great just like Bush and daddy bush did too! I hope all you parents out there give up your right as the primary educator of your children and leave that work to the government. The government is much better at everything!!!

  • I'm amazed at Damon, he's so mature and cute. I'd be doubly impressed if he came up with those great questions by himself.

  • great interview, excellent questions

  • Damon, YOU ROCK!!!

  • I loooooovvveee mangoes!

  • whoever is giving these comments thumbs down isnt american

  • Wow...is that like when Unions are on strike, and non Union workers replace them because they need the job to make money to support their families...And the Union workers refer to them as "Scabs" and Un-American.

I thought this was America...but I guess if one disagrees with a Liberal person, then that means they are not an American?

    How sad!

  • lol president obama is now my homeboy!

  • this was a really good interview of the president and im glad to see some one of my generation actually inthe media

but i would have liked hium to ask him about reform of the cariculum in the us

  • hahaha my school is letting us skip school on tuesday when he gives the speech :D

  • Awesome!! Good job Damon and Mr. President. What a great moment. We look forward to the broadcast for students. Hopefully, they will be allowed to tune in to something so very meaningful and importantl!

  • What a incredible young man. Congrats to him for expressing his ideas, and asking the right questions.

  • Great interview, Damon! You make us educators proud!

  • Thank you Pres. Obama for caring about our childrens future.

It is heart breaking to think that there are parents that would not want thier children incouraged to do better and to stay in school. I work with teens and thier largest problem is that thier parents don't care about whatever.... let alone education.....

  • Yeah, this is great & I don't understand why so many people hate Obama, nor why so many parents are opposed to this speech that he will give.

  • This is great

  • OMG I'm crying. Damon is a star. His family must be so proud. What a sweet and brave boy! He will go far in life. Just look at who his friends are!

  • So much money has been spent here in Ohio tearing down perfectly good schools and building new ones. Should we continue using money to reinvent the wheel? Education should refocus on the basics: reading, writing, math, with operational science and American history rebalanced to show some of the good things America and her people have done. We need students with a solid understanding of the basics and a sense of where America came from and perhaps even a little pride in their country...

  • I agree. I live in Ohio and it seems like there is a mentality of "there is state funding! lets use it now ...hmmm oh this building needs a bigger gym and an extra weight room and separate etc etc etc" lets tear it down and use the state funds to build a bigger place!

  • Go Damon!

    GObama!

    =D I love it!

  • Why doesn't he let FOX news interview him?

  • So we don't think that this is just a we bit staged. How come there are almost 1/2 a million views & only 725 comments, which all happen to be in a very favorable tone to this video. There is not 1 negative comment, which is unheard of on youtube. Is there a possibility that the comment section is being monitored, & edited.

  • Comments need to be approved because I must protect my students. Comments that are rude towards the president are not approved because this YouTube channel is not a place for political debate.

  • Let me get this straight. You just want this to be a cheering section? I can understand censoring vile comments, but if you don't allow civil dissent it smacks of propaganda. It's disingenuous to say this isn't a place for political debate because everything about this is political. Obama is a politician and the discussion is a political one. It also would be a good lesson for the kid. He should realize that if he's going to get involved in politics, he should expect to hear political dissent.

  • Agreed.

  • Your response was exactly what I was going to leave...Thank You!

CanalPointKECTV...You should be ashamed for even suggesting that "You have to protect your students!"

That in itself is actually "Rude" to the American Public.

  • If you saw some the comments I have to delete you would understand why I have to protect my students.

  • I would imagine if there are racial slurs, or orther inferences of the sort...then I can understand. Other than that, I would think any student that would get involved at this early age in the arena of politics, including interviews like this, needs to realize there is going to be negative criticism.

It's great to compliment this student, and maybe at some point in time he will make a great interviewer, but he needs to learn to speak more clearly in the future so that he can be understood.

  • Maybe you should point your comment at Foxnews and Rush. There are plenty of places to get your negative propaganda out, we don't need your sad rediculous propaganda being spewed in a childs interview.

You republicans are awful people! I have never seen any other president get this much disrespect. But you will after him I promise you that.

  • you are an idiot. this is not the place for your propaganda. I see you are one of those whyte folks who cannot accept the fact that this Black man is the President and is doin a good job! Have to nitpick every thing he says and does. Get over it already!
