It pissed me off, too, for over a year until I decided to practice hard and beat it. It took about a month and a lot of runs, but it became rather easy after a while. I knew the course in my sleep. I think that the most important thing is to memorize the course and, of course, become used to the car's handling capabilities.

GT4 is SUCH an amazing game. My fave part of it definately has to be the missions the only thing about the missions is waiting for the time, i wish you could speed that bit up, especially for the Nurburgring mission at the end. Apart from that: 10/10! =)

Yeah, I only use the standard PS2 analog controller. One thumb is definitely not the most precise way to control a fast automobile. It's difficult to hold a decent line because that thumb control is rather sensitive to input. It's not easy to make subtle corrections with.

Unfortunately, I don't have a PS3 as of yet. I was only going to buy one when an official release for GT5 is introduced. Buying a PS3 for one game isn't exactly practical, but I'd have no other alternative. I'll get both Prologue and GT5 when I buy a PS3. I still can't decide on getting a wheel with pedals since I've easily beaten all GT versions without using one. I'll just never be one of the very best but I can live with that.

You may be right, but I can't tell that from driving. I never even thought about it that way. I really seems to me that the car is moving, but I guess that's just a relative thing. Obviously in a full-size simulator it has to be that way since simulators are usually in a fixed spot. But the illusion to me in my mind is that the car is moving and everything else is fixed. Weird mind tricks.

yep, there is also a tank of fuel and in lots of races once youve gotten a good deal into the game (which is very long) there are championships without a race that doesn't require a pit stop. of course with whatever traction control gt invented it is impossible for pretty much any car to ever lose grip. it is more realistic if you get lower level tires (set that comes stock on anything gives tons of extra grip to real life) and turn these aids off, but im cant go to detail cuz i have no wheel :(

In endurance races, tire characteristics do change as the tires wear. They're slippery when they're new or worn. And you can also choose their grip or longevity. You can adjust braking characteristics front to rear and also anti-locking ability.

Yes, on most street, dirt and race course vehicles you can tune or upgrade everything. On a few special vehicles you can't do anything to them.

It's really not a great lap. I've done seconds better, but this is a single run without practice. It's only meant as a tutorial and not some record breaking fifty attempt run.  Almost any of the races I posted a year ago could easily be beat by you if you just practiced more on that Mission.

I don't race using the outside camera angle. I only use the angle for the playback. In theory, I think it would be more advantageous to use an outside camera angle to race as you could see the turns better. I've tried doing it that way, but I'm not comfortable driving that way. It just seems too weird.

I didn't speed anything up intentionally. I recorded it in real time from the Playstation. I'm far from a perfect driver. I just did all these races quickly without practice one after another. There's plenty of room for improvement.

I ran the race, saved it on memory card, then as I played it back from the memory card on the TV screen while I used a video capture device hooked up from the TV video output to my computer USB port. I used a Plextor ConvertX capture device but most will do just as well.

Some people use video cameras which really suck. but one makes do with what one has.

I didn't like the first 1/4 of this race, but the rest of it was better. It just felt like you lost a lot of time in the middle of the corner because you were either full on the brakes or full on the throttle. In the first turn, I find hard brake in a straight line, then feather the throttle around the corner so that you don't get stopped in the middle of the turn. You wanna carry speed and use the entire track as you exit out.

I ran all my race videos with no practice in one shot. Basically did them all in two days. All these times can be easily improved upon. These are for instructional purposes, not for fast times. If you want fast times just run the race over and over gradually lowering your times as you nail the course.

Watch the tutorial video and get lots of practice and you'll probably drive a lot better than me. I made a number of mistakes and still won easily. I downshifted when I shouldn't have a few times which really slows up the car.

I'd say it was the second best car in GT4 after the Minolta Toyota. The brake setup can't be changed in Missions. Normally I would set brakes to 3 at front and 2 at rear.

Thanks for the driving compliment, but I tend to overbreak. At least that's what I've been told by better drivers. I'm very cautious because I don't want to run off the road since I don't always judge corners that well.

Yes, some Missions are easier in PAL, specifically M34, but I've heard there are PAL Missions that are harder than the NTSC missions(I don't know which). I'm using the U.S. (NTSC version GT4)

I used the TV output connected to a Plextor ConvertX connected to my Mac. You'd need some sort of capture card to get decent quality. If you don't have one then it might be a waste for you to bother. I use mine to capture TV shows and movies.

Some think Missions are easy, some don't. These videos are for the ones that don't think they're easy. The experts can make their own videos to help those that are having a difficult time. I'm not a great driver, but I did pass all the Missions with practice.

I use a capture device called a Plextor ConvertX which is hooked up to my TV and computer. When I press record, whatever is displayed on the TV screen is then captured to the computer hard drive. Then I edit the video, encode it (DivX 6) and upload it.
