I love this kind of music, when I first started playing guitar I realized I like lot's of things I never thought I would, you learn to appreciate music much more playing an instrument too, I just love the sound of an old double bass mixed with acoustic and harmonica, perfection
Yeah their tour is a sell out....they changed venues 3 times to accommodate ! see ya in Manchester guys ! YEEE HAAA !!...love ya...and the harmonica is the Best Ive heard !..
@HeyvBuddy Check out Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns; different, but also great! And search for "carsie blanton baby can dance" and watch the first one...
@HeyvBuddy Oh! And it's also very different, but you might like Movits! A great band. And then, could check out the soundtrack to "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"! In general, look into the original blues, bluegrass, and country swing greats...
jack white brought you Pokey lafarge and seasick steve. as their both signed to his label called third man records. jools does put good acts on though.
When Jools comes to Aberdeen later this year, I wanna be there, and I wanna meet him afterwards, and I wanna say "thankyou for introducing me to new talent". Thinking of that, I'm going to ask mum if we can catch these guys when they come to Aberdeen (she also liked them, so I don't think she'll mind it)
@milesclan6 - and me! Thanks Jools for bringing this band to my attention. Real music! No synths, no effects pedals or studio effects, no autotune - Fantastic!
@ArmyLad1995 Yeah man, Jools` show brings me `new` stuff every year ! Watched these last night and straight away downloaded both albums and booked tickets to one of their gigs in March - all before an hour into the New Year bud lol !
@georgiebyrom The one I booked for was at The Cooler in Bristol 27th March but I think they are playing Manchester and Edinburgh amongst other places. 250 capacity at The Cooler and can`t wait.
@Rottenbottomrob hahaha so true !! they were brilliant !!! the Vaccines on the other hand werent exactly amazing xD or sandie shaw or whatever her name is wasnt too good either xD but everyone else were brilliant !!
@pieandmashlover couldnt aggree anymore with you. absoloutely amazing on the harmonica. his facial expressions made me laugh hahaha but he was amazing on that instrument. i think thats his name, not too sure to be honest.
@clearviewmind there were bloody goon on hooternanny i was watching them the man on the harmonica deserves an award for that playin that was un real, and happy new year :)
@clearviewmind your the same as me never heard of them but im glad i know them now absolutley spot on, i always watch jools every year he sometimes pulls a suprise out like he did tonight with Pokey LaFarge.
Ryan went crazy on the harmonica that day. Both him and Pokey got hyper on coffee that day, and eventually had a slappy fight in the middle of a song on stage. It was hilarious! Ryan almost pushed pokey off the stage! :D
He's such a sweet guy to be around. I was really scared the day before yesterday when I met him to get a picture, and he just held out a hand and said "come right between us, darlin' ". Ryan (the harmonica player) just put his arm on my shoulder, and Pokey put his arm around my waist, and we got a great picture. Ryan seemed happy to see me, since he had been making silly faces at me for two hours the previous day. Over all, their my heroes in music.
Saw them live in Inverness (Scotland) ..awesome . If they survive a trip to Skye and the Western isles (I think they like whisky so they may not get back!) check them out if they come to your town
The "south city" three refers to south St. Louis. My best guess is that they're in St. Louis City. Not exactly sure where though..which is bad since i'm from the same area...lol.
ran into these few at a small grocery in manitu.....i was staring at there amazing sticker filled van on the lot and stopped to chat. Put on a real good show at the frontrange BBQ hope to see them there again this summer

@SW891 Can't tell you what make it is but it's a parlor style, common in a lot of old blues. Something tells me the one Pokey uses is probably vintage. Most bluegrass guitar players use a dreadnought, probably the most common body type for acoustic guitars.
