The children are the future of our society... who WOULDN'T want paid parental leave for parents? It's in the best interest of everybody that the children of Australia are able to be raised well to grow up happy and comfortable.

Australian mothers have needed this since they entered the workforce in the 1960s.

Finally, a government that delivers it. It shows that the Rudd government cares about the welfare of mothers and fathers and the healthy development of young children. Remember this when it comes time to vote. Don't listen to the rumour mongers on TV who have a vested interest in opposing them. Look at what the Rudd team have achieved.
