35 years ago Dylan did his thing. He also wrote great songs recorded by others. Ian Hunter and these videos bring back to me who I was and why we were right and honest in the early 70s when I was a kid. Living in NYC suburbs, running around the streets of Manhattan and going to clubs when we were way under the legal limit (14). Suburban daytripper runaways like me bought their platform shoes in Jamaica. I love the glam era.
Ian Hunter was not inspired by Bob Dylan, nor did he eumulate him. Honest. He didn't hear Dylan actually until later! He told me himself that it was when he saw Sonny & Cher that he decided to go for it! Sonny Bono was his inspiration -- hence, Laugh At Me on the Mott lp.

"B" side. That dates things, Do the kids even know what a 45 would look like?.
Before MP3. Before CDs.
Ian can't really sing. But neither can Bob Dylan.
The music bussiness and life aren't fair. If it was, everyone would know who Ian Hunter is too. A great song writer.

Irene Wilde is a classic.I have it on vinyl from
a live concert Ian Hunter made an album from.
The record is a little scratched but if I turn
it up loud it sounds like new.I've been looking
for the live version on cd.

Plus, you can understand Ian. I saw Dylan a few years ago and I could not understand anything he sang.

Stunning. I used to flip the single and play this to death when I was younger. It still sounds awesome.
I'm still annoyed. This is one of the few Ian Hunter London gigs that I missed and it's the one that they recorded! :-(
