  • How is the 3D?

  • @ArdianBlur I really cant say because I dont have those skills, it does have unlimited verticle and I can almost hover but always loose it after 5-10 seconds. I think it would do it if I could.

  • hi nice vid. how hard is it to drill the holes throw the fire and get then engine mount to fit correctly? im going to put a 4 stroke 2.00 os engine in it :)

  • @gary246810ify not hard at all, just remember to offset the mount to the Left so you can angle in some Righ thurst and have your spinner come out on center-line. drill them out and put in some blind nuts to bolt it up.

  • What size fuel tank do you have in it? and how long will it fly on it with a full tank?

  • @TOPHAT1966GS I'm using a 17 oz tank and its way too big, I can fly 20 min on it, so I usually only fill it halfway (40 cranks on my pump) and I get 10-12 min, thats enough to do the IMAC routine twice and then hot-dog around for a bit (no need to carry all that extra fuel weight). one of these days I'll swap it out for an 11 oz and see how it goes.

  • This may motivate me to finish mine. Have the same combination, engine and airframe. Working on too many projects.

  • hi i have the same model and i am thinking about putting a 30 in it. do you know what your model ways without fuel in it.

  • Great video. I have the slightly smaller .90 with an os 1.08. 2stroke. They're great planes.

  • @TcrRCvideos yours looks good, need to get some flight video up. I crashed my extra 260 last sunday on stalled landing- had it too tail heavy for aerobatics- at about 4 feet off the ground it just dropped flat on its belly and broke off the motor box. I lasted my a year and I flew the heck out of it. ordered another and it will be here wedsnesday- I love this plane.

  • Awesome vid. Love the plane...

  • @Stangbanger1989 thanks, it's a fun plane to fly!

  • Hey Youman - I just bought a DLE 30 for myself for Xmas! Now I just need a plane to put it into! HA!

  • @microdon2 sounds like you got this Christmas-gift-giving-thing figured out!!

  • Very nice! Looks like an awesome plane \ engine combination! (I just got the DLE 20 and LOVE it). Am thinking of your combination for my next plane. Tell me - have you done any 3D with this setup yet? I'd imagine you have enough power and prop. And could you post more vids? Thanks!

  • @microdon2 , thanks, I don't know how it does at 3-D cause I cant fly 3-D...:).. but it would prob need a 40cc for strong 3-D. with the 30cc and a 19x8 Xoar prop, it will climb unlimited but not too strong. I suspect a 40cc would do better, other guys have put 40's in them- search for some and see what they say. keep flying!

  • Nice Set Up youmanskids:) Question,Someone gave one of these when they got out of the hobby,im not a big fan of Segull ,but anyhow its a New in the box freebie,The DLE30 You got on it is it New Style With Rear Mounted Carb? Or older Stule with Side mounted carb?If its Rear carb which most of them are for quite a long time, did you have any problems clearing the carb with the firewall?

    Thanx and Great Flight

  • @RCFlightReview , its a new rear carb version and came w stand-offs which mounted perfectly for good clearance and CG on this plane. I'm very happy with the Seagull model. I had to reinforce the firewall box with triangle stock and epoxy but overall is a well build plane, IMO. thanks for the comment. Roger

  • i have just bought one of these and am going to convert it to electric but not sure if to use 1 or 2 servos on ailerons how many are you using for this please

  • @rockyrotti I am using 1 high torque (80 oz/in) servo for each aileron, each one is mounted in the wing, just as per instructions. hope this helps. Roger

  • would you reccomend a 50cc gas engine for extreme 3d?

  • @aerialboy55 not sure, but I think 50 would be too big? a 40cc would prob be a better choice for 3-D, that would be plenty of power, my 30cc does great for pattern and sport aerobatics, and almost enough for 3-D with a 20x6 prop. I just got a 19x8 prop but havent tried it yet. have fun with it!!

  • Nice Video Buddy !!! NIce to see your setup. This is the 180size model. I have the 90 size model (blue scheme) Here is my setup.

Seagull Extra 260 90 Size ARF

    OS120AX Nitro Engine

Rudder - Elevator - Aileron Servos : Hitec HS635 KB (Karbonite gear with 6.5 Kg Torque)

Throttle Servo - Hitec HS 325 Regular Servo

8 AMP Turnigy MegaBEC set to 6.0V @ 8 Amps continous.

    2200 2Cell Turnigy 20 C Battery

    Stock Fuel tank and muffler

    Xoar Beechwood 17X6 propellor

Dubro large fuel fitings & tubing

  • Last Comment got Cut...

Home made Switch controlled Onboard Glowplug igniter.

    Xoar 2.5 inches Steel Spinner

Dubro 3 inches Anti bounce Rubber Wheels

Hitec Heay duty Switch and all wiring (extensions)

I had a question... is the Pull-Pull Rudder cable strong enough to hold the rudder at heavy loads or you suggest upgrading?

Also, I have reversed one of the Hitec Elevator Servo internally (no need to attach them mechanically up and down)

    Cheers Mate !!!

  • @aviatorshyd sorry about that, unintentional, but my pull-pull is doing great, just think you get a more symetrical movement with it, plenty strong. I also tried a reversing "y" harness for the elevator but got inteference from the rudder servo on the reversed elevator..?.., not sure why- using digital servos and 2.4 ghz radio. so I ended up just inverting the control arm. Roger

  • very nice and the DLE sounds great !

  • very nice man , the engine sounds great

  • @sergiomarchena thanks man, sounds a little better than your average weed-eater! it is alot of fun. keep flying
