i just bought this guitar, how do you use it with a high gain setting and not get huge amounts of feedback when you stop playing?? noise gate?? any help would be really cool :-)
@locolegsharvey the guitar does tend to feedback, especially on solid state amps (on my peavey this is not such a huge problem). the pickups seem to be microphonic, due to the metal covering. i do not really have a solution. a noise gate would kinda do the trick i guess, and i noticed that when i take the gain from 10 to 8, it becomes a lot more playable. thats all, sorry! :)
@deevje cheers pal, i've found a pick up from Bare Knuckle that could get rid of the problem, so ill try that, even if i dont solved the squealing problem, at least ill have a shit hot PUP in there, then maybe try a noise gate....

this guitar is quite versatile, it is capable of screaming solos, but also the clean parts sound quite full because of the hollow construction.
at the moment i am using ernie ball rock n roll strings (pure nickel wrap) for a more vintage sound.
i think it will be a great complement to your strat, soundwise they have some similarities (strat also has quite a hollow body, i think most people forget that)
it will play the music you mention with ease, but you could try an epiphone dot or casino..
Epicly close to closing the book on this guitar in the near future, I wanna play like placebo/muse/radiohead/foo-fighters/white stripes/kings of leon type stuff, mostly low gain with this guitar to compliment my custom shop SSS strat. Whatcha think about the versitily for slower live stuff with overdriven breakdowns... would you recommend another semi-hollow?

@locolegsharvey You could always replace the pickups with stacked humbucking p90s like gibson p100s and/or cover the F holes
