Reagan is the best. I go to Reagan. But I also like Churchill at the same time, and I would go to Churchill instead of Johnson if I had to choose between the two.
@Motogu ya i agree, im in the reagan band right now and just about all of us have no idea what it was like during the shows from 03-07. the only people that remember 2007 are the seniors this year. everything else is past and done with. The only thing that shows us how "god like" we were are the trophies in the trophy case displayed in the band hall from when we won all our boa competitions and the 2nd place boa trophies from 2003 and 2005. 1st at: 2 boa sa's, 2 boa arlngtons, & 2 boa houstons
Reagan got a new head director, new drillwriter, and 3 new assistants for '07. A couple directors left in '08, and in '09 Reagan got a new head director and percussion director. Only one director is still at Reagan from '06. Staff changes devastated the band: different marching style, rehearsal styles, different motivation, and overall different atmosphere. The old Reagan Band is gone. The current students don't know what it was like. Stop asking for it back, and be excited for new things.
I'm pretty sure that a new school was built, and Reagan's populous was split because of the new district boundaries, so like half of their band went to the new school... If that's what you're asking. Cause I remember now that New Braunfels is 5A, they played a game against Reagan, and the half time show just wasn't... Reagan-worthy. Good, but not incredible. Still a great band, and they're recovering fast.

@tyty0blake thats not true. we made finals at sa superregional this year and made we got 14th out of 52 bands. it might not be as "god like" like you never know, synergy, beyond perimeters, but 2009 was a still a good year for us.
yall are good yes and no yall arent as "god like" as the 03,04,05,06,07 shows but yall arent woning up to the legacy that yall once had. i work for MFA (music for all) the judges from previous years agree with me. hopefully next year yall will have a better show. Have you got it in you was an amazing show. the bands size shrunk dramatically you can tell especially in the weakest part of the band. THE DRUMLINE!!!!!!!!!!! very small and weak. the hornline was great tho.
I wouldn't cosider 07 a ''god like year'' they almost missed finals in SA, but due to political reasons, they got 5th in finals...also, 01, 02 may be a part of the glory years...02 is very underrated...and they would have made finals in nationals had they gone in 01...anyways, I really hope they'll get back on their feet in 2010
How are there political reasons in BOA? I would assume we just trust the judges to put down their opinion...just curious what you mean by that. And ironically enough, one of the jumps they had from prelims to finals was ind. visual and the judge? John Howell xD
What I mean by political reasons was that Reagan had a terrible year in 07, just terrible. In my opinion, 07 was by far worse than 08 or 09, cuz they still had their big numbers in 07, and experienced players. Yet, the judges felt obligated to score them high because of the name...same reason why Cavaliers keep scoring high...same reason Yankees and Red Sox get biased calls..........P.S.~Reagan's numbers this coming year are going to increase drastically.
I thought in '07 they actually had an enjoyable show with some cool music. In '08 it was just....meh. Uninteresting to me. And I don't feel we're qualified to doubt the judge's opinions by saying they're scoring them high because of the name of the school. That obviously hasn't helped them the past two years.
first off, I just wanna say I'm not fighting with you, just disagreeing. lol. I too think that 07 had some cool music, it just wasn't performed good. I think it was a HUGE mistake in the visual departement for the opening hit to be moving away from the crowd. Even though it looked Awesome, i think it made the music suffer. 08 was ok considering the circumstances: School split, change in music arranger, drill writer, directors, etc.. btw friend, what do you think about my Best of's videos
