  • its so fucking slow...

  • It doesn't look faster than fire

  • Comment removed

  • lol it waddles

  • A tank-treaded vehicle would be more practical, other than showing off the balancing technology.

  • so speedest -.---

  • Think of it men! A world without ramps!!!

  • lmao listen to all the cameras when it goes to take a step

  • lol people hate but im pretty sure they cant do anything like this. maybe legos but thats it.

  • good video

  • Wrong Trousers!!

  • This is how Gundam starts.

  • Absolutely fucking hilarious.

  • im callin it, accident waitin to happen. im sure weve all seen a little movie called robocop

  • mechanically, this is impressive, but in terms of machine intelligence, I don't really find it impressive at all. the technology exists to apply artificially intelligent functionality to that machine to interpret the current movements, and predict future movements based on the results. however, this machine appears to be solely reliant on human thought processes to keep moving.

  • I like it, its a clever idea for helping the disabled.

  • Clever! It wont be long now before the fatties of this world will be able to strap one of those to their hulking great backsides and easily descend the stairs to the fridge. Bah!

  • maybe when their made from lightweight carbon nanotube materials first.

  • all you people dissing it. remember how much the model T ford sucked, now look at their cars now, Ford has improved alot,

but their trucks are still inferior to Chevy ;)

  • it takes like an hour to get down 3 stairs!! pretty awsome tho!

  • the world will soon have superheroes AND villians.

  • no its 6 wheels isnt it

  • 30 min going down really stupid thing in floor

  • the germans mad esomething like this with 3 wheels and it goes up and down stars so much faster and mroe stable

  • LOL let's put wheels on a walkbot to go up STAIRS. That sounds perfectly stable

  • theres a wheel chair with 6 wheels, 3 on each side, and when they go up and down stairs the wheels lock and there traingle itself starts turning, its pretty cool, try and find it on google

  • ok here is the funny thing...i could of walked from the top step...to the ground...across the road to a cafe. order a coffee and then back and go to the top of the step back down and he would of just finished

  • It's for people in wheelchairs, dumb shit

  • I would rather walk down the steps, it's faster..

there's already a wheel chair that can do this, but the wheel chair can do it faster

  • alright I got over One step just 12 more steps to go ,so this this should take around 30 min or so.

  • Thats going to be marketed to the elderly. You know, cause they never seem to be in a hurry.

  • Man the mankind will get FAT after this comes in mass production :D

  • what are they saying it's less expensive to walk! ofcourse it's for the handicap so they can walk to stairs! unlike the wheel chair!

  • but wouldent it be easier, faster, and less expensive to walk?

  • i don't build robots or nothing but i imagine you gotta start out with some slow stuff first if it's computing a bunch of stuff, but when it does go fast they'll prolly have deezal robot suit things for combat

  • Oh my god! At the end it pulls out a gun and kills everyone!!!

  • the idea of this machine is for disabled people, not like us with good running legs. :P

  • but wouldent it be easier, faster, and less expensive to use a wheelchair?

  • imagine where this could lead. We have the idea, now we need to walk on the product, to get it to be more efficient. But for instance people who are paralyzed from the waist down, this could be a worthy alternative to the wheelchair, which needs a somewhat even surface to run (no stairs, no sidewalks, etc.)

  • mabye it would be faster to walk lol lazy ppl....still cool

  • that was lightning fast

  • lol wata waste maybe they will make electricty powered electricity O_O that would be very useful XD

  • will it help me dance better?

  • Warning this product may b only sold to patient people....and pple who wanna look tall.

  • Really great! It could be added onto wheelchair helping handicapped going to downstairs.

  • pretty slow

  • See, this is the kinda crap that will, inevitably, one day allow giant thirty-thousand story tall robotic overlord demons from hell take over Earth. And someone's cellphone went off.

  • It's great how it controls the little Japanese man on top.

  • its like wallice and gromit all over again lol

  • "Oh, shit, man, I forgot my wallet upstairs!... wait for me..."

  • METAL GERA SOLID;; BUY IT PPL

  • Wow! Imagine the posibilities... People with walking disabilities could go to places that they've never gone before!

  • by the time you got back from the store to buy your milk it would have gone off.

  • Wow!!! that's great, amazing!!!

  • Is this a pleasure model? Id take a poke at it

  • its slow but fukin amazing

  • Make it about twenty feet bigger, strap some flak or kevlar and some guns on it and you got the first real metal gear...

  • Even in Asia they can appreciate a nice pair of Chuck Taylors.

  • metal gear you say?

  • after a few more years, they will finally complete metal gear.

  • ololololololololol my gran needs 1

  • Truly amazing- must be nice to have a company that actually values inovation and new ideas, instead of crushing the life out of them like an aaahhhahahahahaahahahhahhahaahah

  • just the beginning... soon they will be running, which will probably be easier, though they've got to find some pretty brave dudes to try it

  • That's a big step for people who work in places (who are disabled) that don't have elevators, or platforms, and instead of being stuck in a wheel chair, this way they are tottaly moble! Awesome.

  • Slow is the mind of the guys who things this is something "small". This is BIG man ! Image a people who can't walk, using a suit like that controlled by their brain impulses ? This is the future man ! This is a way to the "blade Runner" world. Japanese and Mechas. Hollywood just can make this with special effects. But the real stuff is on the other side of the world. :)

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • he looks like hes having fun

  • howcome it's always the jaapanesse that comes up wit the kool stuff

  • needs cameras in the frame n feet i think, so it can judge what where and how far away the terrain is. then just wack it into automatic :P

  • This is cool, give it 10 years til mech suits!

Japs are experts with technology, give em that

  • shway doo shlow

  • too slow

  • i wonder why they made this?? i know it cant just be for lazy fucks that dont wanna walk up and down the stairs that forgot where the elevator was...

  • I think it is difficult to control. Otherwise: cool!

  • Cool

  • wow, one day they'll make a full suit... its gonna be like a huge terminator suit...

  • Neat idea but slow. It only takes one step at at time. Would be neat to see if it takes more than one.

  • that would suck if you had to go to the bathroom and it was downstairs. slow? but still pretty cool. they should try and combine this one with the huge mech I was just watching (it used wheels, but was still pretty cool.)

  • would be cool to see it go back up the stairs, can't wait to see where robotics are in the next 25 years.

  • it actualy works! 5 stars

  • i bet u have to keep real still, otherwise is loses balance and u break your neck

  • i dont think this can go up stairs

i think it might be top heavy or lose balance

  • this is great for handicapped people when there's no elevator or handicapped accessible place.

  • Looks like it will take quite a while to get down those stairs though. My suggestion: bring coffee and donuts for the wait

  • I've been a idiot for using my legs all these years

  • lmfao yeh

  • Agree with you there

  • At least it's not too jerky-looking. o;

  • cool

  • Do a search for ifoot from toyota...no cables great design!!

  • im impressed. it may not look fancy now, but because of this invention, we may see something real hot soon. Japan... theyre just awesome.

  • I'd love to get a look at how this is getting powered, not to mention find out how much weight it can bear before the systems nolonger function. Still, it would've been nice to see it go UP the stairs, not just down. Or if it even has the capibility to turn without falling over. Hmm.

  • using hydraulics is a great idea.... sadly it is still no practical for commercial use but in time these will be replacing some wheel chairs

  • hahahahaha XD omg thats some funky shit XD

  • Does it have auto-flush as standard? coz it seems like a load-a-crap.

  • is that the Beatles operating it??

  • wow cool and three weeks later you have made it down the stairs!!

  • it's a kool idea for the handicapped, but it's still a work in progress... i mean, it has a cord...come on...

  • i guess its for people who cant walk =/ in a place without an elevator, or those wierd wheel chair thingies. i wonder if that thing can go back UP the stairs.

  • this is soo dum like what the hell if some 1 offered me that i would jsut tak it apart and sell the parts

  • like theyd let you near tools dude

    plastic scissors, maybe

  • This is like a fat boys dream.

  • lmfao

  • WOW WHAT A LAZY INVENTION XD

  • hey, think if ur handicapped and u want to feel how normal legs feel again

  • What would Thora Herd do?

  • why couldn't he just walk down the stair, go to mcdonalds, walk to the gym, burn off the fat, go to sleep, get up, go to work, come home, masturbate, then sleep again, all before he would made it down those steps in that chair

  • 4 steps in 2 minutes..hmmm...aren't you glad the building wasn't on fire?

  • if they could only mix this and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVwbUljGs3g&mode=related&search=

    together, it would rule.

  • erm the ones on rails that we currently have now will do tbh...

  • hmm, so i use the robot legs to chase people and my real ones to kick them in the head! brilliant.

  • thanks, but i'll just walk down my steps

  • Lol the reason why he didn't climb down it fast is because he wasn't used to it. It's helpful though, but wouldn't that make disabled people- i dunno look sorta weird? I mean you look like some futurstic freak! :D

  • ... I would much rather roll down the stairs, myself.. It's easy if you know how to do it.. But for any other disabled person, this is a wonderful invention.

  • another way to help lazy overweight people...hmmmm...but would be good for disabled people

  • Maybe in about 20 years when it can actually move faster than 1kph.

  • hmmm did you notice that it had a powercord dragging behind it... that would probably be annoying and get in the way though I'm sure they're planning a battery... also I don't know why they just dont continue with elevators and such. It'll probably go to obese people break it they get sued go bankrupt and then start over again...

  • Nice :P

  • i think they need a new pilot...its obviously has the ability to "walk" down the stairs....the one step at a time method looks to be a limitation of the operator...of course...they may have tried it and toppled down the stairs a couple times...and whod want that on camera

  • took a minute and a half to go down 5 stairs! That's a record timing!

... what a hunk of junk, but it's a good idea

  • if the daleks ever get hold it were all fucked!

  • ok sure its helping people... but if i was behind him on the stairs (and this is just my view) i would be so temtped to push the bastard down!

  • LOL

  • this is pretty awesome. can't wait to see where this goes

  • i enjoyed this much more than those animal robots; this is on its way to help lots of people out there.

  • And one day for the whole stairs :)

  • THAT IS ill

  • that + land walker = the shit!

  • The creator of the Segway has come up with something that will climb stairs and is much faster than this.

  • Be careful a small breeze could set it into a rolling hunk of human and metal!

  • IN THE HANDS OF AN OLD FART PRETTY SURE THEY WOULD KNOW HOW TO PUSH THE BOTTOMS...TO HELP THEM BUST THEIR ASS COMING DOWN THE STAIRS!!!....HAHHAA

  • I wouldn't wanna be stuck behind him on the stairs.

Could you imagine him trying to get off the escalator? Lol.

  • hahaha bstates. i dont think crippled people or old people would like rolling down their stairs XD

  • Amazing, now match that up with a person who can't use their legs. How good would that be for them, awesome stuff guys.

  • Its only as cool as the length of its power cord...lol.

  • Those Japanese are fuckin' crazy. It's slow, But with some work that bitch'd be fast.

Kinda like that quickie last night....

  • This is guna make soo much traffic on the stairs.....

  • well it's about time. the simplest ideas are often the most difficult to execute.

  • this thing is so slow the seat converts to a toilet during long rides

  • if only it went faster...

  • It could be practical, with a little more work, and some bigass guns. The hydrolics make it alot smoother of a ride than the landwalker.

  • That would be useful if they made it faster, but even then only for the paraplegic, and only the rich ones.

  • robots would replace infantry units as soon as they somehow get them to run and jump, shoot, and has a little camera inside so soldiers, that are somewhere safe can controll them and take care of terrorists or wipe out something, go kamikaze a building without injuring themselves.

  • Aww... i thought it would fall over lol.

    pretty cool.

  • I could see how it would help some who is disabled.

  • shit's cool, definitely.

  • dont wanna piss him off- you wouldnt wana get your nuts kicked from that machine.

  • Cool... Too bad a person who couldnt walk could just roll down the stairs 10 times faster!

  • What they need to do is combine the walking mechanism from this thing with the landwalker robot. That thing skates around rather than walks

  • OMG!! i can so imagine riding one of those to school! kick assss

  • 4 hours later....

    Yeah, ummm...

this thing is as practical as a square wheel.

...either I don't appreciate science, or japan just needs to find better ways to spend money.

  • what advantages does a mech have vs. a tank or fighter jets and helicopters; until they get to they point where they are super fast and can jump they are impractical.

  • if they ever want to go to war we are screwed america is so far behind they will have mechs and armored cores that work flawlessly im scared for my life now

  • its slow because the balance of human legs is hard enough to simulate at THAT speed

  • lets see him dance

  • That looks very dangerous.. imagine if their butt itched and they tried to scratch it.. that thing would topple over faster than you could say.. OH MY GOD IM GONNA DIIIIIIIIIE!!

  • hey it looks helpful but what if the one who were sitting in that thing were overweight or i mean heavy..hmm it looks like it is dangerous to use it!

  • They'd fix that problem, afterall, whoelse would be using them?

  • LOL!!! I was just imagining what it would be like to to topple down the stairs and have that contraption land on you :P

  • Innovative solution to an extremely difficult engineering problem. Great!

  • Certainly could be a great replacement for the wheel chair and mobility scooters.

  • Haha were set for the future. we have japan

  • Pretty sweet

  • wow, Metal Gear eat your heart out!

  • this is a great invention congratulations to the people that worked on it, no only will help people climb down stairs, and eventually climb them up, but it will also help them -in the future- when it gets faster and more efficient. and also the psycological effect on helping them talk to people without look up, and feeling more human.... the real problem will come when the urge to go to the bathroom comes, but eventually they'll get around it.

    EXCELLENT

  • ha amazing..sure its not so fast..but i think its made for people that cant walk..& i think they'd like it.but idlk since i walk

  • METAL GEAR!

  • Lol, its funny the way you or someone eles always goes "Metal Gear" like u were solid snake when you see a bipedal, I always wanna be first one to post it but i'm always late

  • this is scary for some reason

  • wow cant wait till they add guns to it

  • asombroso , sera un grn logro cuando lodesarollen y abaraten

  • Like something out of sci-fi. Amazing.

  • imagine going down 100 stairs, it would take forever!! Cool machine though.

  • thats pretty cool, probably isnt too stable if you shift your weight around on it. but then again, what do i know? i still like it XD

  • I hope this will help peaple... but that thing needs lots

    of electrisity

  • USELESS ??? Think in legs to people who doesn't have it

  • two words, amazing + useless =]

  • IDIOT... disabled ppl can use them!

  • Well, i meant for most people >_>;
