mechanically, this is impressive, but in terms of machine intelligence, I don't really find it impressive at all. the technology exists to apply artificially intelligent functionality to that machine to interpret the current movements, and predict future movements based on the results. however, this machine appears to be solely reliant on human thought processes to keep moving.
Clever! It wont be long now before the fatties of this world will be able to strap one of those to their hulking great backsides and easily descend the stairs to the fridge. Bah!

theres a wheel chair with 6 wheels, 3 on each side, and when they go up and down stairs the wheels lock and there traingle itself starts turning, its pretty cool, try and find it on google
ok here is the funny thing...i could of walked from the top step...to the ground...across the road to a cafe. order a coffee and then back and go to the top of the step back down and he would of just finished
i don't build robots or nothing but i imagine you gotta start out with some slow stuff first if it's computing a bunch of stuff, but when it does go fast they'll prolly have deezal robot suit things for combat
imagine where this could lead. We have the idea, now we need to walk on the product, to get it to be more efficient. But for instance people who are paralyzed from the waist down, this could be a worthy alternative to the wheelchair, which needs a somewhat even surface to run (no stairs, no sidewalks, etc.)
See, this is the kinda crap that will, inevitably, one day allow giant thirty-thousand story tall robotic overlord demons from hell take over Earth. And someone's cellphone went off.
Truly amazing- must be nice to have a company that actually values inovation and new ideas, instead of crushing the life out of them like an aaahhhahahahahaahahahhahhahaahah
That's a big step for people who work in places (who are disabled) that don't have elevators, or platforms, and instead of being stuck in a wheel chair, this way they are tottaly moble! Awesome.
Slow is the mind of the guys who things this is something "small". This is BIG man ! Image a people who can't walk, using a suit like that controlled by their brain impulses ? This is the future man ! This is a way to the "blade Runner" world. Japanese and Mechas. Hollywood just can make this with special effects. But the real stuff is on the other side of the world. :)
that would suck if you had to go to the bathroom and it was downstairs. slow? but still pretty cool. they should try and combine this one with the huge mech I was just watching (it used wheels, but was still pretty cool.)
I'd love to get a look at how this is getting powered, not to mention find out how much weight it can bear before the systems nolonger function. Still, it would've been nice to see it go UP the stairs, not just down. Or if it even has the capibility to turn without falling over. Hmm.
i guess its for people who cant walk =/ in a place without an elevator, or those wierd wheel chair thingies. i wonder if that thing can go back UP the stairs.
why couldn't he just walk down the stair, go to mcdonalds, walk to the gym, burn off the fat, go to sleep, get up, go to work, come home, masturbate, then sleep again, all before he would made it down those steps in that chair
Lol the reason why he didn't climb down it fast is because he wasn't used to it. It's helpful though, but wouldn't that make disabled people- i dunno look sorta weird? I mean you look like some futurstic freak! :D
... I would much rather roll down the stairs, myself.. It's easy if you know how to do it.. But for any other disabled person, this is a wonderful invention.
hmmm did you notice that it had a powercord dragging behind it... that would probably be annoying and get in the way though I'm sure they're planning a battery... also I don't know why they just dont continue with elevators and such. It'll probably go to obese people break it they get sued go bankrupt and then start over again...
i think they need a new pilot...its obviously has the ability to "walk" down the stairs....the one step at a time method looks to be a limitation of the operator...of course...they may have tried it and toppled down the stairs a couple times...and whod want that on camera
robots would replace infantry units as soon as they somehow get them to run and jump, shoot, and has a little camera inside so soldiers, that are somewhere safe can controll them and take care of terrorists or wipe out something, go kamikaze a building without injuring themselves.
what advantages does a mech have vs. a tank or fighter jets and helicopters; until they get to they point where they are super fast and can jump they are impractical.
if they ever want to go to war we are screwed america is so far behind they will have mechs and armored cores that work flawlessly im scared for my life now
That looks very dangerous.. imagine if their butt itched and they tried to scratch it.. that thing would topple over faster than you could say.. OH MY GOD IM GONNA DIIIIIIIIIE!!
this is a great invention congratulations to the people that worked on it, no only will help people climb down stairs, and eventually climb them up, but it will also help them -in the future- when it gets faster and more efficient. and also the psycological effect on helping them talk to people without look up, and feeling more human.... the real problem will come when the urge to go to the bathroom comes, but eventually they'll get around it.
