oh the humour. what a way to go. he used peter's predictability and caution to, well, trick him out of being tricked. the glass case was made to look scary for this reason. pete really did do something others wouldn't do in taking caution, but his caution to danger led him to worse. it's a shame he was tricked into seeming stupid.
