  • i have the 520. the 510 is a great camera. although live view is a great feature to have when you're beginning, i encourage people to not get dependent on it. you will have much more fun using the viewfinder.

  • Hey Mr. expotv,

We are realy only intrested in one thing and this is not your face. We want to see the camera. So look at some other video's over here and learn. This "review" is useless.

  • Live view was brought on by ignorance and the wants of consumers. I hate live view. If you own a DSLR and use live-view extensively, you're not a serious photographer.

  • Thanks I will buy this!

  • poof of air..

  • my SD cards dont work

  • It takes XD Cards not SD

  • Ijust bought this camera yesterday! I originally went after the Nikkon D40X. Best Buy told me it was being discontinued and they were out. After comparing this one sounded better, and I love my old Olympus camera. My 510 came with 2 lenses, a photo program, and battery with charger for $749. The Nikkon D40X and Canon were $699.

  • Great camera! I love mine, and great shot of NY!

  • Nice camera ! If I only wouldn't own so many Canon lenses ;-)

  • Thank you for the review! I am so motivated now to get it.

  • This looks like a nice camera, a little pricey though

  • It doesnt give a "poof of air", There is a small filter in front of the sensor that vibrates everytime you turn the camera on.

  • yeah loool the SSWF (Supersonic Wave Filter) that means it shakes it off lool..not a poof of air ahaha i had to laugh when he said that!! LOL

  • The E-volt series is great, but I'd suggest Canon EOS or Nikon D-series SLRs

  • which models and what makes you wanna recommend them

  • If you're just starting out, the Nikon D40 or D80 are great cameras to learn on. I am not very familiar with Canon. The D40x is another nice option. It is essentially the same camera as the D40, except it has a 10.2 Mp sensor whereas the D40 has a 6.1 (I believe) sensor.

  • do you know does the nikon d40x has live view like the olympus e-330/e-410/e-510? thanks!

  • No, in order to have live view, you will have to get the new D300, which has a hefty price tag.

  • oh darn. a lovely camera it is... but yes, far too expensive for me :(

    thanks for the response!

  • i suggest you get a canon eos350D

but sadley im going to sell mine and by and evolt 510 because canon doesent release any consumer camera with livewiev

  • They do now! Look at the EOS450, it has live view and more!I still would not trade my E510 for it though.

  • Looks like a nice camera!

  • the olympus evolt 510 slr camera looks awesome, good video!
