Doctors, nurses, and even the janitors at our hospitals need to support themselves as well. You and I don't have a right to make caregivers to work for free. The Democrats created this problem by mandating broad coverage forcing insurance companies to charge more. Thus their product is overpriced for some.

The way that statistic is usually framed implies 50 million sick, diseased people; lying around receiving no help or compassion.
Well I am one of those with no health coverage; I am 27 and although a smoker, I am very healthy and fit.
@flashart Continuing...Like most Americans I enjoying being independent. I would actually feel humiliated receiving assistance from anyone, family, friends, the government. In the case of government assistance I would not even be receiving assistance from a person who loved or cared about me, but instead from someone who is being forced to give by threat of law.

Why just over the weekend I attended a billiards tournament at a local bar where proceeds from both entry and drinks went towards a local family's medical expenses for their young daughters chemotherapy.

50 Million British have access to the National Health Service whenever and wherever they need it. There IS some private medicine, but probably only 5 % of the population has it. Access to the NHS is seen as a basic right- regardless of age or employment.
Britain never joined the Euro Zone - which led to the downfall of the Greek, Spanish and Portuguese economies- and many people want us out of the whole European set up- to leave more money for our own NHS.

@flashart I'm not sure I can answer your question, though I may be able to provide a few insights. First I would like to pose my own question though; how many of those 50 million are in immediate need of health coverage?
The way that statistic is usually framed implies 50 million sick, diseased people; lying around receiving no help or compassion.
Well I am one of those with no health coverage; I am 27 and although a smoker, I am very healthy and fit.

@flashart Continuing...Like most Americans I enjoying being independent. I would actually feel humiliated receiving assistance from anyone, family, friends, the government. In the case of government assistance I would not even be receiving assistance from a person who loved or cared about me, but instead from someone who is being forced to give by threat of law.
And even though I make very little (enough to feed myself with ramen after I feed my two cats and a box of ammo is all i ask)

Why just over the weekend I attended a billiards tournament at a local bar where proceeds from both entry and drinks went towards a local family's medical expenses for their young daughters chemotherapy.
I am young and still hope to improve myself to the point a business thinks i am valuable enough to offer me coverage for my labor

50 Million British have access to the National Health Service whenever and wherever they need it. There IS some private medicine, but probably only 5 % of the population has it. Access to the NHS is seen as a basic right- regardless of age or employment.
Britain never joined the Euro Zone - which led to the downfall of the Greek, Spanish and Portuguese economies- and many people want us out of the whole European set up- to leave more money for our own NHS.

We now owe so much money, that each persons share is around $45,000 dollars. Now, about 50% of the people pay no federal income tax, so who is left holding the bag for this debt? Alan Greenspan himself was a republican, and at the time the social security tax needed reform anyways. And dealing with Iran, was mostly Reagan advisors calling the shots. @antipryzm 30% of your healthcare premiums in a private system go to non-medical cost like CEO bonuses and advertising. With Medicare only 4% go to non-medical cost. Medicare has a 97% satisfaction rate. No private provider can come close to matching that.
You are absolutely correct about the inflationary factor, but that would be held in check if we had Medicare for all and the government was able to negotiate prices for services like other countries do.

China had the most Regulated Labor of any market at one time and they were a complete failure. It was when they removed the opressive Gov regulations and allowed people to make money (Free Market) that they started to boom.
