i felt that the actors(not only the acting but the looks were off) r pretty bad Light, Misa,Ray P.'s Wife, ect execpt L needs abit improving and the animation was also bad of Ryuk love the anime/manga but it was a bad idea to watch the movie
hey just a quick question iv just bought the Death Note boxset witch includes 1&2 just wondering how do i change the lanuage to english dub ? would be much help thanks :)
I love dub. I don't understand how people enjoy the true art of an anime series when they r reading and listening to some other language at the same time. i just don't get.
The English dub, to me, was redundant because I bought the Death Note movies on its initial DVD release in Hong Kong. Granted, my copy was imported from Hong Kong but I still insisted in watching it subbed because the Cantonese dub was in plain stereo. And I wanted to get the most out of the 5.1 audio.
I didn't get to see the movies in theatres but I did get a glimpse of "L: Change the world" when the teaser trailer played just before "The Warlords" (starring Jet Li and Andy Lau).
I personally think the English dub for this show us fantastic. This is by fare one of, if not, my favorite anime of all time because of how different it is from others. Good characters and a good story! Hope to see the movie soon!
ok dude, dont mind about the dub-haters ok? they're just a bunch of wapanese (wanna be japanese) that like to read (subs) if you dont like the dub series, then i guess you must hate how you understand english, if you were a REAL DEATH NOTE FAN you'd like the anime/movie/manga NO MATTER WHAT its just the same thing, but with different languages, DEAL WITH IT
When it comes to anime, I judge on the actual quality of the voice acting, not whether or not it's in English or Japanese. Some I prefer in Japanese, others I prefer in English. Death Note is one anime that is kickass in both Japanese AND English. :D
The reason for that is because in the orginal Japanese movie, Rem was also voiced by a man even though Rem is female (read book 13). Why did Kaneko decide to do it like this, i don't know.
i love dubs dont mind subs but still when your trying to watch the expressions on the faces of the characters i mean theres so many parts that are intense i had to rewind after reading so i can see it instead of keeping my eyes focus the the words i def perfer dub though
I ususally have little problem with dubs, as long they keep the same music in it, and don't edit the animation, and stick to just trnaslating the voices, it's usually fine. sometimes I don't really like what they make the characters say but meh.
Death note however was perfect! There are no ways i can think of that will possibly make this dub any better!
The only time i hate a dub is when they change into something very different. like the Kirby anime for one example.
I Myself iam a RAW/SUBB Guy yes thats right No dub But Listen iam not Hating on the Dub Version I Watched Most of my Anime in Japanese so iam USE to it so When i listen to The english i get upset lol But Ever Since the New Animes Came out they did ruin it with Die-A-Log's and Tranforming it to Kids Shows
The Best Dub For anime Will Be YYH,Inuyasha AND MAYBE Dbz But after that iam Sorry Oh btw The Movie is Great 1,2 and 3 go see
Awesome review! I have the movie and the dubbing was near-perfect!
I'm sick and tired of these idiots who say "dubbing kills anime"! I've even seen someone who hates the Death Note dub so much, they wished death on Brad Swaile! >:(
@ZevSenesca7777 yup! i was on a video where someone wished that rebecca forstadt would die just because she voiced a character in rozen maiden! i really hate when people do that!
I saw the movie in theatres and bought the DVD. I really liked the dub to. It was perfect for the most part, with very few odd looking scenes. I like the Japanese version to. The dub of the movie was very fun to watch though. I liked it more than the Japanese version. I just thought it was really cool to see a live action dub with the anime voices. =P Glad you liked it to.
i think the japanese one in the movie was better! however, the dubbers did an amazing job!

Its trying to sell them and thats not a bad thing
Also yes i have read the whole manga then seen the anime (then the spin off novel) then the movie

Hmm, They made a dub? I've only seen it in Japanese and it was quite Okay....Wish Near had been in it though.
AvengerX13 3 years ago
Errm your talking about the first movie....
Where they only JUST got to misa so how could near be in it?
also Near isnt in number 2 because they waited to use (a somewhat strange) version of him in the L movie
