Sooooo cute! Makes meh wanna squee! XP Shame it has cerebellar hypoplasia. I had a dog with that. It had problems walking, flipped into the wall, cracked its skull and had to be put down. :(
Chitten maybe Cerebeller Hypoplasia. Their brains haven't fully developed as kittens although in every other way they are healthy is what I've read. I think although it brings tears to my eyes I think they are adorable and they live life to the fullest.
I absolutly love your cat it is so pritty and cute. i love the way it just romped in the grass for a second then seemed to just flip arond then go crazy in another direction.
@mistyfoot2010 -haha, yeah, she's sometimes really spazzy outside. it's almost like she just gets these fits of joy and has to express herself by running and tumbling.
I read a few of your comments and maybe the mom had panlokopenia thats how my cat got it.... on her 4 kittens two survived one is almost normal and the other one is pretty much like yours except he has a tendency to have eye infection...maybe i'll post a video response if i have time to film him.... i know i've said it before but i'm glad you kept her and i agree, they are a lot more work then regular cats, but they are so worth it, mine is so affectionate....Love him to death =]
@juicebed1 -yeah, to everything!! lol that's cool that you have a CH, too. they are so loving. i have two, from the same litter, and they're both different in their severity. the 1st litter all had varying degrees, out of the 5, two were totally normal, and the other 3 had it. the stray mom had another litter after that one and they were all stillborn. they must have all had bad CH, since it affects their ability to breathe, too. thanks for commenting! i'd love to see your kitty, too! :)
this cat is so full of energy and joy, despite of it's hardship to walk straight, sort of works as an inspiration to just celebrate life, of course this is just normal to this cat
@MegaPyro21 --yeah, i'm pretty sure that if i tried to force feed a cat anything, i'd end up seriously hurt. try reading descriptions and tags and heck...even other comments before spouting off. thanks!
@DrakeandAmanda20103 -lol. she's more work than you might think. most CH cats have issues with using the litter box reliably, and she is no exception. she is cute, though. some of them can have other issues as well, with seizures or vision problems. mine doesn't, she just has the CH. :)
@TheCornBeef --lol thanks. and, i think anything can get it. i've heard tell of horses, dogs, and even people with it. not sure about too many other creatures, though.
@DrakeandAmanda20103 -- the comedian has cerebral palsy. My cat has cerebellar hypoplasia. Cerebellar Hypoplasia means that her cerebellum (the part of the brain that controls motor function, breathing, etc) is underdeveloped. It is a form of cerebral palsy, because cerebral palsy is a huge umbrella diagnosis for diseases that affect the brain and ability to move, like what my cat has. There are many different forms of palsy, hypoplasia is just one of them. ;)
@Pandagotchi yes, she most certainly is. lol. she'd likely wander off into the street or get carried off by a hawk if no-one was out there to watch her. lol
she was born with a disease called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It means her cerebellum is underdeveloped, and so as a result, her balance and movements are a bit wacky. :)
Holy hand (er...paw) spring! That's fantastic! It's nice to see that she's being taken care of so well! She really seems to love the outdoors, and appears to be hamming it up for the camera! What a beautiful darling!
lol. thanks! yeah, she was a wild one that day, I still don't know what got into her, but every now and then, when she's outside, she gets crazy like this. lol.
I dunno about that, mine's 4 years old this year and she hasn't really changed much since she was a kitten. The only thing she lost was normal kitten clumsiness. Otherwise, she's still as stumblely as ever!
Yep, Cerebellar Hypoplasia. An underdeveloped cerebellum. She was born like this, her and the brother. Mom was okay. 2nd litter were all fully developed, but stillborn. I think it has something to do with the cerebellum controlling breathing, too, and they just couldn't breathe on their own after birth.
Aww i love it i mean some people say its horbe because she laughs or toput this on i think tis cat is clearly happy whats the dif in laughing at a cat without ch than laughing at this adoablething doing cartweels.itsa lush cat i hahve one called mitzi she licks my face :D
i don't get how this cat makes people sad, really...if she's happy, it seems like such a waste of energy to feel bad for her...i dunno, just a thought.
I totally agree with you! I also have a cat with a disease and he is perfectly happy. And I don't get either why people are telling me to put it to sleep. Thank you for taking care of her instead of giving her away.
I'm with you here, how can someone judge her quality of life based on a few videos? She obviously looks extremely happy! I have a CH cat who cannot walk, except for short bursts (when he feels like it lol). He is the happiest and most LOVING cat out of my 3.
Pitying them is pointless, they surely don't pity themselves! If more people could open their minds(and hearts) to the beauty in these creatures, they would be one step closer to recognizing the beauties in life.
yep, it's all true!! What is it with CH cats and their sweetness? She's the most loving out of my five! And brazen, too! She'll stumble right up to anybody and mew at them for attention...she just loves it!
Thanks!!! I'm glad you appreciate her, she has such a blast outside, going crazy like that! It's almost like she just can't contain herself, and just has to explode with activity. lol i love it!
What a great video showing a fellow CH kitty! It's wonderful that these videos exist to show people that these animals are not in pain, and can lead great and healthy lives.
That is so cute! My CH kitty doesn't play that hard. He gets tired right away and frustrated and then takes it out on the other cats!! You did a good thing by getting a CH kitty. They need alot of special love.
thanks. they are good cats. This one and her brother were both born in my apartment. lol. There was three CH's and two normals in the litter, and we kept these two. they're fun, not to mention crazy! lol
They really are very special cats. I have heard so many people say that it's "pitiful" that we keep them with that disability. What they don't understand is that they are perfectly normal and healthy other than that,, and aren't in pain. They make you want to take extra special care of them. Thank you so much for keeping these kitties and loving them like you do.
Thank YOU for being open minded about them and not feeling bad for her like so many other folks do! And to you, as well, for keeping your own CH critter! :)
I know that it's a relief to find someone who understands these special kitties. There is a site on the internet called "The CH Kitties Club." It used to be really active, but I think it has kind of slowed down. It might have some helpful advice/suggestions for you. The first time my Mom saw Buddy she said, "That's just PITIFUL!" Other people call him "retarded." That really hurts because he's not either of those things!! Bless you!
My world of CH kitties just began for me the other day when I adopted two 11 week old CH kittens from the humane society. For my first cats ever this is a huge jump for me, but I love them so much, even if they are a little extra work! Hehe
I'm glad to see that this isn't as rare as I was starting to think it was! There is even a facebook group! (Cerebellar Hypoplasia-drunk pets of the world! for anyone who wants to join)
lol. it is quite a jump, isn't it? I don't know what got into her to make her jump like that, but it was a good one. lol.
i understand about the feeling sad, when she was first born, we were sad, but she's two now, so we've had plenty of time to get used to her and her brother, and see the humour in her abilities. She makes us have fun...she's so happy-go-lucky herself! lol
no, they don't feel any pain directly from their condition, it just makes them clumsy. And as such, they are prone to more bumps and bruises than an average cat, but beyond that, they are just like regular cats. and she does jump and run! lol. she loves it and is having a great time. That's how i can get used to it, cause she's so easy with it all! :)
lolol....yes!! er, i mean, no. lol. she's got Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It makes her motor control worthless, and when she gets excited, she just really freaks out. thanks for the comment!
She is just adoreable! CH kitties have such great personalities and so much to teach us humans. I see she runs pretty darn good, my CH kitty can run like the wind, it is walking that she has a problem with. Keep promoting these sweet angels in fur coats to educate and inform.
thank you so much for your lovely, supportive comment! they really are remarkable creatures, undaunted by anything and super affectionate! Same thing with the running and this kitty, too, as you can see from my other videos...she can't walk to well, but running is okay when she gets going! lol. She cracks me up.
