@Simson616 What would those true intentions be? I have a master's degree in music, but I still don't understand what Stockhausen's point was. To me it all just seems conceited, and not worthwhile, in either the musical or the philosophical sense. I'm all for contemporary music, like Ligeti, Haas or Rihm, but Stockhausen just seems like a glorified hack to me.

well I - having just started studying music - think that refering to this kind of music it's the acoustic color which would be used to express the intention or the artists association with the topic - in this case the singing of these young boys. (I'm refering to a much better version than this one above) I guess he wanted to express the "character" of a typical rather wild little boy as well as the charakter of his voice while singing.
