I found the original today at a yard sale I sal it in a bin and thought it looked pretty cool and it was only two dollars but sadly it only had 4 characters and one of their cards is missing but it had alot of terrain.
Someone should make a heroscape videogame with maps and map editor, existing characters, and possibly character skins and powers editor, and gameplay mechanics where they possibly run and do basic movements for attacks and dodges, and even a list of rules that can change if you want like in the board game. I can imagin it, i would love it, it might not be mainstream but at least it would bring all the army pices into the fans living rooms and it would be cool to share maps and battle online.
good review, now i really want the bridge, it looks like you could make some sweet little barracks with the sides of the bridge (when not using the bridge)
@Aerolseventh In most games, each player is given a certain amount of "points" with which to "buy" units. You add up the total points of all the cards you're using, and as long as it's equal to or less than the limit, then you have a legal army for that scenario.
You left out the Large character expansions. The ones with the big characters. They don't count in any character waves, they're actual expansions.
And also, the unique characters, doesn't mean that only one of them can be used in the game, it means that only one of them could be used by a single person. So you could have four master sets, and play a four player game, with each person having all of the characters from a master set.
Actually the Marvel Point system doesn't mesh well with the rest of Heroscape. It's not that it's shunned by all Heroscape players, it's just broken.
Most agree that the Hulk (370 Points) actually needs at least 1200-2000 points in non-marvel Scape to make it a fair fight. So the problem isn't that it's not fun but that marvel was NEVER meant to be played with other Heroscape expansions and is reflected in the point system.
Actually I would disagree. None of the Marvel figures are signicantly overpowered and in fact in most cases you can easily take out a super hero figure like the Hulk with much less points in common squad figures. With a little experience with common heroScape tactics you can easily take out the hulk with 5 squads of stingers for instance, which cost only 300 points. Add a sixth squad to bring it up to 360 points and you'd be hard pressed not to take him down regardless of your ability.
I am beginning to understand why this game is called heroscape, all the elegence and ease of the rules is intrinsically tied to the terrain. I really want this game now, but I dont really think I have the room to store, much less play it :-(
Thinking about snow in a forest makes my head hurt.

I love this game but I'm really disappointed in the dungeons and dragons set! I'm in the UK so the sets are hard to get, but well worth getting!

@Seda2431 Real men use lava in their forests. In fact I'm swimming in lava as I always roll 20's.

whats wrong with snow in the forest? if anything, lava in a forest is much less likely.
spiderweb20 1 year ago 32
@spiderweb20 I think he means that it would look kinda odd if you had snow only in one area of the forest as if it only snowed in that one place...
then again...one could simply explain it with magic because magic explains everything but magic itself...
