The mom was my first cat so I was ignorant. Turns out she had a 3rd stillborn kitten 'stuck' inside and it was making her ill and unable to eat or nurse. I took her to emergency to have her spayed, and had to bottlefeed the surviving kitten for 5 weeks. Things don't always go so smoothly...

They don't chop the pee pee off they remove the testes in the male cat and the uterus in the female...they go on living perfectly healthy lives without ever knowing what those parts were (unless they were removed later in life) Unlike humans, cats don't need to have sex to be happy.

So, the mother was rescued from a shelter and we she got pregnant before we could get her neutered (what she is now, but she didn´t like it a bit!). The kittens are my responsability, of course. Thank you all for watching and enjoy the video of my beautiful Amelie and her babies.

I agree, people get into stupid arguments abouts crap. Nither of my dogs are nudered or spade, and I'm proud of it! Don't be going "Ohhhhh, that person is meant to animals because she dosen't "Fix" them!!!" If you were an animal would you want that to happen to you? And with the kind of dog I have, its actually bad for them to get nudered because its gives them back problems later in their lives. Also, sad thing is, many countries, spay/neutering costs out the nose! in Japan avgs 300-500 USD per cat (never seen it under $300) & there are no shelters, save a very FEW that individuals run, & then they wont take an animal unless YOU have paid for the spay/neuter already. There are no "humane societies/shelters" save for a FEW run by individuals. Its sad.

So in addition to humane ppl, governments need to recognize animals rights as well. One reason for cats not being #1, outside the whole astronimically high vet bils, is the fact that cat claws tend to tear up the fragile "paper" doors & tatami mats (again, know this first hand ... $800 worth of knowledge.)

If your kitten still requires bottle feeding, you'll need to gentle rub it's tummy with a tissue so it's able to urinate/defecate. This simulates the licking of the mom cat and if you don't do it your kitten can congestionate and die.

Feed constantly. Keep warm. A warm kitten don't waste energy and is more likely to survive with non-cat milk (cat milk is twice as rich than cow's!) If you can use a commercial substitute of cat milk is ok, but regular condensed milk works fine.
