Is that video about how to transform working laser into burned laser? If you increase power of the pumping laser diode at 808 nm, there is chance to screw up two things: LD at 808 nm itself, and Casix composite crystal. Earlier versions of such crystal has glue between YVO4 laser crystal and KDP crystal and that glue can turn brown to black if too much power.

Aside that, even if not burned glue, thermal lensing effect at YVO4 crystal may be obvious as double beam or other weird output pattern.
