the microwave oven makes sense; the early ones were tweaked with a huge step-up transformer to bump up the (US) 1115-120 volts to thousands to fuel the magnetron. I have the "EZ" model (love it), and hope to get the bigger version soon!

here the cost per kw is 14.5 cent per kw here in australia.and the line voltage is 240 v
i just got the australian vers of this. its connected to my comp right now.
