WOW! Nice job! The notes need to be sustained just a second or two longer ... but that's not your fault, and it is hard for most because David is the MASTER -- and this is his signature solo, so he is hard to emulate perfectly. You absolutely do play very well, though, and I liked this clip a lot!

ya basically if u have a POD XT (preferably live) it doesn't even matter the type of guitar u have..u can buy a $80 squier and make it sound like kirk hammett, dave mustaine, hendrix, pretty much any sound you want

you need an effectprocessor/preamp (i.e. Line6 Pod XT), from that you use a jack->minijack wire and plug it into your soundcard. (on most cards its the pink mic entrance)
