It's kind of hard for the Canadian Troops to actually build anything when the people in reality do not cooperate with telling us where the Taliban may be or where roadside bombs are. If they want help, they have to help us get rid of the Taliban so this war can end. THEN development for the people will succeed when the nation is in peace.

I'm not spending my time or money building a hospital or school for anyone in Afghanistan until the civilians start cooperating. Help us help you. We know your scared but if you won't tell us where the Taliban are or that they've been burying things along the side of the road in the area recently why should we build you anything? If we build a hospital now its just going to end up siezed or destroyed by the Taliban, so stand up for yourselves and help us help you.

She is just great isn't she...articulate, well spoken, apparently moderate, just the sort of person we would like to see taking part in a fledgling democracy in Afghanistan. Now the sad reality- she is dead 1-2 days after NATO leaves. We have started something over there, given expectations, given hope, and people like her will bear the brunt of it if we decide we don't want to be there anymore. Keep that in mind.

How come your people who live in Canada don't enlist in our forces to fight the Taliban??

I'll tell you why...All the ones I've met are excellent economical situation,they came with a lot of money to live in Canada,,,But they refuse to send any money to help to rebuilt or enlist in our forces.This type of cultures do not interact or married any body beside muslim..

Everyone should watch the PBS documentary showing Canadian soldiers in a humvee shooting at civilian vehicles to force them off the road. One scene shows a teenager bleeding from his face after he had an accident when solders shot at his vehicle.

It's evidence that Canada (like America) treats Afghan people like garbage. Search under 'PBS' and 'Canadian' if you want to see a clip. When watching, remember that these people never attacked anyone.
