I am always told that people want to hear something they know, but I find covers are much more intriguing. You're a great songwriter, albeit a modest one.
Sorry haven't replied sooner.....funny the song came in about half an hour...inspiration dries up soon after that !! Tried to keep this one a bit Celtic. Thanks again. Robin
You'll be pleased to know it's a French Club side jumper Of Grenoble. I'd be a moving target here in Wales for wearing anything English. Up the Grand Slam !!
Yeah, out on the ocean there's a ship, and it paints a secret in my heart for all to see, and my emotions catches my soul and blah blah blah....da iawn cariad bach.
See I told you...this is an incredible song and you're wearing your heart on your sleeve----the audience sees it. Another 5*s....they need an option for 1 million stars..
Thkis is my favorite of yours Robin....gave it another listen today, this is the one....I love it...faved and appreciated...beautiful tune...Its a long way home...
What a good one, it's almost unbeleivable that is an original. Really good sound from that Masterbilt. Great bang for the bucks for sure. Thanks for sharing it to all of us Robin. *****
I think, I would recommand one of these Masterbilt for someone who whant his first all solid wood guitar in the 500$ range, or for my own collection. I would really like to try one myself but here in Canada, the retailers don't have those Epiphone. Someday I'll order one maybe for a friend or to resell it locally, anyway, I'm happy for you (read jealous)! ah ah!
Mahogany Back & sides & spruce top..the rosewood version was a little more expensive. I alreay have a valuable Indian Rosewood Martin 00028 so I didn't want to push it at home !!
Thanks Phil...yeh the song was intially inspired by my daughter's school music project...my sub conscious went into overdrive a bit then and the words came(it's not normally that easy to be poetic!)
I love your voice...and playing----you Brits are just plain cool, without even trying. I really like the song---to me, the mark of a good original, is you like it the first time you hear it---you did that with this song...While listening to this song, I'm getting visions of a sailor on a boat...
Thankyou Yvonne, I've penned a few more songs but hadn't the courage to upload....maybe I'll try. Funny thing about us in the UK we are inspired by a lot of American music. From blues to Springsteen...Simon & Garfunkel to Bob Dylan. Thanks again.
I'm serious, this song is reeeeeeeeally good--I've heard it four times now and it just gets better..There is no doubt in my mind, promoted correctly, this could be a hit. Although, I'm into our music for fun, my family has been in music for generations (national level) and I'm rarely wrong.
Mmm, beautiful, Robin, it's got the potentials of a classic folk song - I hummed along immediately, the waltz time makes you sway unconsciously - love that.
So you don't wanna call it "The long walk (home)" - too direct???
Thanks very much Ben...I think the 'long walk home' is going to take the title...( reminds me of too may beers one night and missing the train !!)..thanks for you comment. May try to pen another.
Great effort, Rob. 'A Long Way Home' would suit this as a title. No matter if another song has the same title given, for example, 1985 saw 3 different songs charting with the title 'The Power Of Love'.
Glenn you've just given me the title !! thanks. The song was a collaboration with Anna and used as a project for her music exam !! I think it was a success.Hope you're keeping well. Robin.
haha WE LOVE it! i see why you watched our vid now haha :)
