    xx

  • Thanks alot, enjoyed your site

  • Fantastic original, Robin! Well done!

  • Thanks Karen...you should try the song. It would sound great to hear you do it!!.....'a collaboration' maybe !!

  • Not a bad idea! This would sound great with some vocal harmony.

  • I am always told that people want to hear something they know, but I find covers are much more intriguing. You're a great songwriter, albeit a modest one.

  • Sorry haven't replied sooner.....funny the song came in about half an hour...inspiration dries up soon after that !! Tried to keep this one a bit Celtic. Thanks again. Robin

  • great song!

    I like the melody.

  • Thanks very much

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks very much....wrote this a couple of years ago, I'm not much of a song writer but they do happen sometimes !!

  • Really great song fine vocals and playing! I stumbled on it due to the title. I have an original titled "Long road home" Peace

  • beautiful song. i hear it in my head as a song sung by a massive group of people gathered in a large green pasture. its very uplifting. thank you!

  • Thanks so much for your really kind comment. Robin

  • Nice lyrics. I like the sound a lot. Pretty.

  • Thanks very much indeed

  • Good job Robin, its a catchy tune. Is that an English Rugby jumper you're wearing? If so you've just lost all credability!!

  • You'll be pleased to know it's a French Club side jumper Of Grenoble. I'd be a moving target here in Wales for wearing anything English. Up the Grand Slam !!

  • It's all good, you've regained my respect.

The Grand Slam was well deserved.

    Cymru am byth!!

  • Yeah, out on the ocean there's a ship, and it paints a secret in my heart for all to see, and my emotions catches my soul and blah blah blah....da iawn cariad bach.

  • Thanks very much for the comment.

  • Really nice song

  • Thanks alot

  • What a good one, it's almost unbeleivable that is an original. Really good sound from that Masterbilt. Great bang for the bucks for sure. Thanks for sharing it to all of us Robin. *****

  • Thanks very much...I love the guitar 'great bang for the bucks' brilliant comment.

  • I think, I would recommand one of these Masterbilt for someone who whant his first all solid wood guitar in the 500$ range, or for my own collection. I would really like to try one myself but here in Canada, the retailers don't have those Epiphone. Someday I'll order one maybe for a friend or to resell it locally, anyway, I'm happy for you (read jealous)! ah ah!

  • BTW is it a mahogany or rosewood one ?

  • Mahogany Back & sides & spruce top..the rosewood version was a little more expensive. I alreay have a valuable Indian Rosewood Martin 00028 so I didn't want to push it at home !!

  • There are US companies online who ship to Canada like 'Musician's Friend' you may get good price re exchange rate ?

  • Have you got a Welsh version of this sorted?! You could try it with Dafydd Iuewan or Meic Stevens, for example. Think on!!

  • Glenn great idea...I may try and get the girls to translate !!

  • Nice tune Robin - nice words -inspired by a father's love and concern I assume...

  • Thanks Phil...yeh the song was intially inspired by my daughter's school music project...my sub conscious went into overdrive a bit then and the words came(it's not normally that easy to be poetic!)

  • I love your voice...and playing----you Brits are just plain cool, without even trying. I really like the song---to me, the mark of a good original, is you like it the first time you hear it---you did that with this song...While listening to this song, I'm getting visions of a sailor on a boat...

  • Thankyou Yvonne, I've penned a few more songs but hadn't the courage to upload....maybe I'll try. Funny thing about us in the UK we are inspired by a lot of American music. From blues to Springsteen...Simon & Garfunkel to Bob Dylan. Thanks again.

  • I'm serious, this song is reeeeeeeeally good--I've heard it four times now and it just gets better..There is no doubt in my mind, promoted correctly, this could be a hit. Although, I'm into our music for fun, my family has been in music for generations (national level) and I'm rarely wrong.

  • thanks Yvonne

  • Mmm, beautiful, Robin, it's got the potentials of a classic folk song - I hummed along immediately, the waltz time makes you sway unconsciously - love that.

So you don't wanna call it "The long walk (home)" - too direct???

  • Thanks very much Ben...I think the 'long walk home' is going to take the title...( reminds me of too may beers one night and missing the train !!)..thanks for you comment. May try to pen another.

  • LOL, well, then I'd say it's the perfect title.

    Yeah, keep 'em coming!!!!

  • Loved the guitar playing and your voice...and your heart! 5*'s

  • Thanyou very much Yvonne, really appreciate the comment . Robin.

  • nice song man. uplifting.

  • Thanks alot Michael

  • Nice one! Catchy tune. Well done!

  • Thanks Tilly

  • Great effort, Rob. 'A Long Way Home' would suit this as a title. No matter if another song has the same title given, for example, 1985 saw 3 different songs charting with the title 'The Power Of Love'.

  • Glenn you've just given me the title !! thanks. The song was a collaboration with Anna and used as a project for her music exam !! I think it was a success.Hope you're keeping well. Robin.

  • very nice, robin and anna!

  • Thanks man !

  • Ya gotta love YT Robin..Montreal..Wales..And back again...Just a beautiful song!

    All my best.

    BillyRay

  • Thanks Billy Ray trying to pen a few more songs now....

  • nice

  • Thanks very much...opportunity to try my new guitar also !!

  • WONDERFUL !!! I love it ! Originals are always the best and the way you do it is Excellent !

  • Cheers KM,

  • Nice job.

  • Thanks very much
