  • Have u guys noticed how all the master pinstripers are old guys? Damn... hahaha.

  • Unbelievable talent...Not worthy :-)

  • does anyone know what kind of brushes they use, what ar they called?

  • Its like some kind western Zen practice almost.

    Creamy...

  • the master at 0:16 to 1:26 my boss Horst, from custom paint by horst, great guy indeed!!!

  • I just waiting for them to fu^k up....but they didn't :(

  • I had to give up my pinstriping career because I love caffeine. ☺

  • @EuroRash lol i love coffee too my friend and i though to give up my pin striping hobby/way of earn some cash, but it just took countless hours of practice, coffee and packs of cigarettes and had my first paid pinstriping job a few months ago,so just keep trying you`ll get it am sure.

  • They do open hart surgery in free time :)

  • Im somewhat new to striping and I purchased a set of Kustom Shop striping enamels.I wanted to know do I have to absolutely clear coat after I apply the paint to my project? And if not can I use hardener in the mix? What do I USE TO APPLY CLEARCOAT IF i DONT OWN A SPRAYGUN OR AIRBRUSH MACHINE?

  • @7ZOMBIEFURY it depends what kind of paint you have, usually ONE SHOT brand ,you don`t have to clear it ,if you do, it will wrinkle on you, URETHANE'S you can clear them, they go under clear coats with no problem.

  • What do you put on to KEEP the paint from flaking off though? i mean if im gonna pay 100s of dollars for something this amazing i want it to stay on longer then a day! haha...

  • do they put a gloss on after? How do they get it to cure on clear?

  • this makes me incredibly nervous to watch. I just can't help it.

  • *sneeze*

  • I can't even draw a straight line

  • Comment removed

  • They are not human.

  • Are any of those modified brushes?

  • your one thick cunt

  • it got real sexy @ 4:25 watching him pull that long blue line

  • @bekyea What do you mean tracers? they aint tracing shit. they get a look and feel for the top of a curved peice of "canvas" what are you painting on paper? your monsters that are being deditcated to you dont go on some ones hor rod or bike are they???

  • @sikkinixx82 , il have you know i painted 2 monsters and a flame on my bmx so dont talk to me about look and feel, and next week im painting a thousand of these lines for my mates sisters boyfriends brother on his ford escort, so smoke that

  • Dude in the black shirt got mad skills.

  • wery cool !!!!

  • Are u hiring I need a job . I have 20 years exp. Check out my vids.5862125362

  • Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I want Now This On My Car Hood

  • I had to watch this on mute, but this guy's artistry is amazing!

  • Too smooth baby!

Absolutely beautiful. I love this art form.

When I build my lowrider, it's on!

  • Wow I wish I coud do that

  • you know how when u watch someone do something long enuff you start to think you can do it? lol

  • the number one rule of pinstriping is to be over 40 years old. (exc. Jr. Huff)

  • @penpen989 you are oh so wrong

  • 22 people drive hondas

  • Those brushes hold paint like nothing I've ever seen. I like the thin-to-thick line @3:33. This type of craftsmanship is a dying art form. Nice to see some young guys in there. Nice work. Keep your fingers clean.

  • Who are the bands in this video?

  • IT s GOOD

  • absolutely amazing.

  • and whenever I do pinstriping, it comes out just ugly, however I am just starting so, ill get better

  • Im 15, and I just started pinstriping not that long ago and its not hard to sketch out the thing, however keeping the brush perfect (I dont have pinstriping brushes though) and geting the sides even with each other is the hardest thing ive ever done with paint, Im working on my tool box right now and im nervouse about when I pinstripe it cuz im waiting to put a coat of spraypaint on it right now

  • Got anything with Herb Martinez in a video?

  • Very cool, but one question - what is the title of the background song?

  • they make it look so easy!

  • semplicemente artisti alla pari di giotto!!!

  • any advice to a kid who is trying to learn the art?

  • @way2fasts -Practice practice practice on anything that's not moving!

  • Wonderful video, I truly admire pinstrippers, they bring life to anything.

My '65 will be pinstripped when it hits the road, I want to carry a piece of this amazing work with me

  • Perfect !

  • Excellent!

  • Man this is the Zen of painting. I have done some fine art, but nothing that has to be done in one shot in a single stroke.

The control is amazing and I'm surprised how much you can load these brushed with.

Want to stripe my own car...this is not helping. Think I'll just let him do it after seeing this. I like to say I did everything myself, but I don't think I can survive the aggravation of having to redo stripes or obsessing about my errors.

I will at least like to work out the design.

  • Nice hands and a great place to keep a razor blade.

  • I do that kind of work but without talent and it dosn't look so good. I don't think practice will fix me either. the music and the work is great you guys

  • Caught myself holding my breath :) amazing artwork!

  • The music is great with this; a true dichotomy.

  • great camera work

  • is he using chalk to make a grid

  • it's a stabillo pencil.

  • i wish my hands didnt shake haha

  • tell me about it... i've just started to attempt this and I know it takes time, but I can seem to steady my hand at all...

  • faster strokes, and look further ahead of the brush, like about where the line will be in about two inches or maybe three, depending on the situation. And i personally try not to concentrate so hard when i stripe, and distractions like music or TV is great as a soothing distraction. Hope that helps.

  • Hey thanks, I'll give those tips a try.

  • From my experience with painting on model cars, and by watching a lot of pinstripping videos, I might add that your hands and fingers are as much of a tool as the brush and paint itself.

The way you use your fingers and hands to stabilize and sometimes gently guide the brush will greatly help you.

  • @blunts4dayzzz so do mine it's genetic.

  • @blunts4dayzzz :P everyone shakes, the trick is with the stability of your other fingers

  • 1:45 whoa!!!!

  • 5 stars, I'm sold... Truly mesmerizing

  • Such a brilliant art form, flows so smoothly.

  • some awesome work .... also like to point out killer sound track.

  • quickie, what is the white pencil/thingie he uses to mark with?

  • i believe it's called a stabilo pencil.

  • you can use just a grease pencil.

  • E X E L EN T :::::::::::

  • 素晴らしい!溜息しかでない。。。

  • AWESOME, I love it ;-)

    Respect from Vienna

  • house of kolor sucks.. ppg is the shit!!!

  • wanker

  • i wonder hwo many times a painter has had the brush slip out of his hand and totally messed up the paint job he was doing

  • Wow! At first I thought they were taping down designs and painting over the tape, but then I looked closer and saw zero tape! insane!

  • Great video and comments.5 stars to the video and all you posters too. I've always wanted to do this stuff. My 3 years starts this week. :)

  • I drink plenty of COFFEE. All you need is a good breakfast, lunch, dinner and sleep. Your fingers are the ones that keep the brush steady. And a yes practice a lot

  • all you need is a sturdy hand. no coffee.

and a butt load of patience. three years should do you good :)

  • look's easy!

    phhhhhhhhhht.

  • I would love to learn how to do this someday :)

  • do it. takes lots and lots of practice and perseverance but it pays off. workin on it myself.

  • i started watching alot of these vids, just to get an idea of the technique, then i went and practice for 5 to 6 hours a day striping everything i can find...practice makes perfect. i've been doing it for a month and people i don't even know say that i'm a badass...and i'm not the egotistical type.

  • practice makes perfect when i found no one is perfect i stopped practicing :)

  • so you suck at everything

  • House of kolor are urethanes and are compatible with urethane clears. One shot should not be cleared over, hok is ok to clear over...

The pencil they use is a stabilo, you can buy this at most art supplies shop, its a waterbased paint pencil and you can paint on it without any ill effect...it can then be wiped off with a damp cloth once the paint has dried...

Nice vidéo, very relaxing to look at these guys work....

  • Too good

  • Are they outlining the initial design with chalk? Won't the paint come off? Just asking. I want to do my guitar. I do flames but never attempted pinstriping but watched a lot of vids on it.

  • Practice a few years first ;)

  • Cool. I have stabilos and perf wheels. Thanks, phisolophe!

  • awesome

  • te si forte..

  • FYI, most pros use One-Shot enamel, not HOK, which dries too quickly for striping. Try a Kafka brush. It blows away Mac!

  • It's funny, of all the potential products that could be used, just about every pinstriper says a nice glossy magazine is the best to mix your colour & load you brush on. This is awesome. How's that ride @ 7:52, so sick.

  • I love the way this video rendered even with the YouTube funky compression. Very nice.

These guys are super freaks. Skilled out of this world. I'm amazed!

  • Bitchen video! Talent, expierience, commitment, confidence, wicked skill. I hope you guys are getting PAID

  • on "Chop Cut Rebuild" the host mentioned the "very expensive" pinstripe brush. They're only 15 or 20 $

  • is there a special kind of paint to use for this? I'm looking to draw some designs on my Trek bike

  • Will i need to practice alot to make it look good??

  • hell yes.

  • rock steady

  • What is the title of the last song ??

  • i am an auto body painter and my boss wants me to penstripe also but it's not my job. I can put a decal penstripe but not a paint penstripe. Yesterday I just used a permament marker on a 08 Grand Marquis. I asked for a penstripe brush and he said he can't afford it so I used a marker. LOL

  • hey i found a pack of good mack pinstriping brushes on ebay for 15 bucks got 6 of them

  • Mack sword or dagger sizes 00 or 0 to start with. One shot paint and appropriate thinner.

  • Amazing! Simplly Incredible!

  • Anyone recommend any brushes to get started. This looks rewarding and fun.

  • 5 STARS-------

  • Damn! This is one amazing video. I feel like I've just learned a great deal about pinstriping just by watching these masters at work. Thanks for all the inspiration.

  • This is amazing. Thank you so much for this video.

    5 stars.

  • the music that starts at around 4:02????

  • who is the music by?????

  • this is a modern art

the precision combination of colors and the patience

  • eso es pulso y pasión y lo demás... solo kk

  • They make it look so easy.

  • That's so graceful.

  • GREAT GUYS !!!!!!!

    Live to Stripe!

  • Ooh I wish I could have that done to my custom Firebird. I wonder how much something like that would cost. That's extreme talent!

  • Practice, Practice, PATIENCE

  • think ill have to give up drinking before i become a pinstriper

  • Excellent... Звезда в шоке...

  • I think its started by a faint line drawn first then applying the paint afterwards...these artists probaly do hundereds of pinstripe designs before finalising there design.

  • I'm afraid to ask this because I think I know the answer but... How do you start pinstriping? Please don't say that you just go out there and hope that you don't mess up. You don't get this good with your first try. and What happens when you mess up?

  • Usually pinstripers use aluminum or glass panels to practice on. After a lot of experience, you get this good, but it's all trial and error. If you mess up in the middle of a job, you can just wipe off the enamel.

  • He better throw out the brush he used on that piece of shit Fox body - don't want to spread the worthlessness to other vehicles.

  • ya , they r great....good signtists are rare.. :), i been in the trade 25yrs,note my video on perfect circle, lol

  • you'll notice a lot of stripers these days are using MR. J's excaliber brushes,..who i personally know and use myself. They are very easy to control, glide along well and are durable,..not to mention cheap like 15 bucks. The specific type of brush that is used for these designs is called a "sword" brush. I hope everyone who sees this and was inspired goes and tries it because it is and amazing and lost art that needs to be found again!!!

  • off the chain

  • Does anyone know the the name of the first song and/or who it is by.??? THANKS

  • I soooo wanna be able to do that....

  • ANY ADVISE IS VERY APPRICIATED THANKS

  • AWSOME, IM STARTING SOON DUDE...

  • That's a hell of a talent.

  • im doing pinstripes right now there so hard, but im getting better. =]. these guys just gave me alot of inspiration

  • f****n awesome!!

  • One of the best on youtube, man!

This totally redeems my mind from that TERRIBLE "Best 'Hot Rods' of 1992" thing I just watched. Thanks!

  • I have the upmost respect for all the pinstripers out there. This vidoe makes it look so easy.

  • its a stabilo pencil

  • What do they use for the guide lines, the white pencil does it have specific name??

  • those blue flames are awesome!!

  • Simply amazing !

  • Woooh, what a hand!!. Congratulations.

  • i dont have the hand styles for pin stripes plus looks hard to

  • Ohhh very inspiring. I so wonna do this. I feel bad for my airbrush that I havnt touched in a year.

  • in a dam year :P ouch man

i could never do that :(lol

  • brilliant...fascinating.

makes me want to be a better artist.

    GREAT VIDEO CLIP!@!@!@

  • This is the best Pinstriping video on youtube.

  • OMG, what an art form!!! I'm so jealous; I'd love to learn how to pinstripe! I can't believe some people get to do that as a job. Lucky bastards..

  • Very nice

  • wow i love the blue flames at 6:40'ish, also whos the music by on this?

  • that is very cool..i m trying to learn to do that me self

  • GAY

  • your just jealous bcause you dont have the talent to do that

  • Incroyable !! Faut le voir pour le croire !! Enfin le voir ça veut aussi dire se sentir après comme affublé de deux bras gauche..

    Susokary.

  • Ahhhhhh they make it look so easy!

  • awesome stuff,.. music is rather annoying tho.. but the striping is awesome

  • Fantastic video! If you're near Kansas, check out BikerStripers 2007 July 13-15 for live pinstriping demos (google for "bikerstripers").

  • kuhl! You guys should be brain surgeons with those steady hands, awesome.

  • fantastic vid!, think the steady hand would have something to do with the two fingers (f.u finga and one next to it) you will notice every single one of those guys in that video were using them.

  • HARRJ92, the use of those fingers (middle and "ring" fingers) are to help keep a straight line, u'd call them "guide-fingers".. they also help to keep a consistent height.. sometimes it also helps to use both hands to steady yourself too

  • cheers, had some pinstriping done on my lowrider bike last month, takes a long time to do it, which is what you would expect when trying to get it symetrical. Not cheap though :P

  • mint have always liked pinstriping looks marverlous but a dont khnow how people can keep such a steady hand

  • Nice Video, Kudos to the guy that put it together! Neat art that pinstriping.

  • awesome vid! i felt pretty mesmerized

  • Wow, i have to say u guys r amazing! Is it some inborn skill or something? Very well done!

btw. the second song in this movie... what's its title?

  • Amazing - so beautiful, graceful and relaxing to watch as well! :-)

Does anyone know what sort of paintbrushes are used for this?

    Excellent video.

  • Response to question 2 months ago..Normally you will pinstripe on top of clear...no need to clear unless you want it more "show" like.If you use 1 shot striping enamel you need to be careful clearing or it can lift like a motherfucker on you...its oil based...Striping Urethanes clear much easier..but dont make any mistakes...Pinheads forever
