  • My cousin saw Elvis fronting for Hank Snow in the West Monroe, La high school auditorium in the early 50's. Billed himself as "The Rocker". God, that was a long time ago, LOL

  • I listen to this not for elvis but for the Great Scotty Moore

  • @hammertownpavao the king makes this song

  • E L V I S, then and NOW, the COOLEST guy that ever lived.

    12-8-11

  • The King was just Southern Fried Cool

  • Agree that pre-Parker, pre-Army Elvis is the best!!!!!! Thanks for making this music available on YT.

  • Elvis at his best !

  • Elvis should have stayed in Memphis. Is a very long way down hill between "Good rockin tonight" and "Viva Las Vegas".

  • Have You Heard the news?

  • this isn't Elvis' song...

  • @alexihodge87 Well technically this arrangement is solely his, scottys and bills arrangement..like the repeating of the first line and the we´re gonna rock shouting and all..and this is the version that influenced the world!

  • I agree with you

  • These early songs of Elvis are the best period.

  • GRACIAS POR ESTA JOYA !

RECORDANDO A MI REY, .....EN UN AÑO MÁS DE SU PARTIDA .....

    ESTREYI BRAVO C.

  • Anyone who doesn't like this must be crazy, Elvis Forever!!!

  • Awesome footage with the music... Thanks Jackiej61too..

  • Check out Charlie Feathers home recording with his son playin bass for a real rockabilly version of Good Rockin' Tonight. Elvis is great but Charlie is also a great little known one. Search it out here.

  • Elvis is king, I have 45 years of memrobilla, I even write songs about the king, fantasic channel well done, cheers The Makem Folk Singer

  • One of his best ever...and those mirror-image solos by Scotty...excellent!!

  • Shame Elvis never did this live in the 70s.

  • My God, I love this song ! I grew up with it :))

  • The King is only one! Elvis 4 Ever!

  • this is the elvis we all loved

  • Elvis was the ORIGINAL ROAKABILLY!

  • I don't think Elvis really ever surpassed this.

  • Theres Good Rockin Tonite

  • Thank you for putting this up. love it!!!!!!!

  • great video,i have not heard this great blues/rock song in years.

  • YOUNG ELVIS PRESLEY, YEAH KEEP ROCKIN IT ELVIS!!!

  • ITS JUST ROCKN ROLL BBY!!!! AUSHHH!!!

  • Jackiej61too, really good job on this video placing the right photos at the right place in the song giving us nearly an Elvis performance experience. The way Elvis delivered some of the lines in this song ("Good Rockin' Tonight") coupled with the types of photos toward the end where he is contrasted against a dark background, I believe, helped give some parents of the day the thought that Elvis might be some danger to their teenage daughters. This was part of the Elvis explosion in '55 & '56.

  • Pure energy.

  • The guy with the variety of songs he could sing, was absolutly amazing.Like Mohamad Ali this talent comes maybe once in a life time.

  • all i gotta say is presley rock-n-roll forever!!!!!

  • WOOOWW

  • why did elvis and johnny cash die seriously there awsome

  • Very good job. I usually think YouTube postings that just play a record over still photographs are a waste of time, but in this one the photographs support and add to the music. It's an excellent job of editing.

  • Of course the 92 thousand views of this video cannot compare with the 438 million views of Justin Bieber's "Baby". And yet Elvis changed America.

  • Jackiej61too ~ Is Absouletly 'The Best' on YouTube with Any ELVIS

B&W Photo Montage(s) set to Classic PRESLEY GOLD.

With Much Love and Thanks to Jackiej61too,

    GOD BLESS YOU ~

    Gillespie003

  • It is a loved tune.

    ELVIS is the highest.

It performs also in my band.

Thank you for seeing by all means.

  • Tem uma hora que ele parece com o silvio santos falando "good rockin tonight" aos 0:21

  • Elvis and co, have made a basic 3 chord song sound intensely awesome, what superb presence and what superb deliverance, amazing song. Bare in mind that this was just a basic stab at this song at the sun studios in the mid 1950's, and you realise that you don't need huge complex arrangements to churn out a classic song, just bloody good talent. A great timeless song, that will be enjoyed and adored forever!

  • I never understood why the Honeydrippers basically covered this song but changed the lyrics to "There's Good Rockin' At Midnight"...

  • Elvis est a ce jour ll artiste qui a le plus vendu de disques

les 2 milliards ont été dépassés

  • Adoro essa música

    Isso sim é música

  • @india4707 é isso mesmo!!

  • great song

  • Ratings have been disabled for this video ??? WTF ???

Jackiej61too does it yet again, your rock

  • Elvis was on the Sun label for only 16months...what an impact that had on the music field.

  • TUNE the king lives forever

  • The ultimate rockin tune The king will never die RIP ELVIS

  • roy brown is where is at

  • it's great jackie

  • Elvis was,is and will always be the most important artist, singer of the world history!

  • YouTUBE Had to disable ratings for this.....

-Their system had begun to smoke !!!

  • man....early Elvis songs are UNTOUCHABLE!!!! No one comes close.

  • Never forgot to bring along his rockin shoes.

  • Just another magnificant example on why Elvis will always be remembered as the greatest singer of all time

  • for my DAD xx

  • Just think, he was about 19 when he sang this song, nothing like him at the time, or since.

  • Love thissssssss! \o/

  • Ulimate Elvis great slap bass rock on forever

  • still think elvis would have made it without the so called colnel who wasnt a colnel at all

  • why had no one seen the col any where but the main land of the usa wiv Elvis? he was a carnival organiser who never was in the army! so coronel was a name he gave to himself to make himself more important than he actually was!

  • THE KING OF ROCK N ROLL

  • That true, the Col really ruined it for Elvis..pushed him in the end as well...poor guy.

  • What a rocking vocal it rocks harder than stuff today

  • His manager screwed Elvis over by telling him what to do.

    thats why things changed.

the coronel, his manager could not leave the USA, as if he had, he would of been arrested on his return.

that why, he never world toured.

  • That is debatable. The cornel gave Elvis the opportunity to become world famous. This is something that would not have been possible if he had stayed at Sun. Sam Phillips simply didn't have the money to break Elvis as a huge star, which is why he snatched the 35 grand RCA gave him for Elvis' contract. You make Elvis sound nothing more than a puppet. There were plenty of times he stood up for himself and argued with Parker. He fired him once, but changed his mind.

  • @FabFM You're right. I've learned that by 1977, he actually was legally preparing to replace The Col. ... Elvis toured waaay too much in the mid-'70s; he wanted to maintain his lifestyle and honor his payroll.

  • Scotseasy- I agree what you say pre army elvis had that teenage rock rebelion feel

but then post army elvis had more of a love feel

i think it was great for him that he recorded energetic song when young (his vocal sharp)

    and more love songs after....,,,

doesnt matter realy he is the king

  • Elvis 4ever the king will never die

  • THIS is the Elvis I love and like to remember, before he went to the Army, and before Col. Parker started pulling the Rock and Roll stuffing out of him and trying to make him a film star and all-round entertainer.

Some lovely shots here, though some I've seem before - there seems to be a right shortage of clips and photos of the early 1955 -56 -57 Elvis.

  • @Scotseasy I totally agree with you, this is the Elvis, that made our jaws drop, listened in awe, this was the phenomena that came into our lives in 50's

  • @salchez68 Nice to hear from you, Salchez68. I guess we can count ourselves lucky to have been young when Elvis burst on the scene. In fact, there was a lot of really exciting Rock and Roll breaking out just then !

  • best version!!

  • i just got a guitar lilke elvis presley

  • fabulous fabulous photo montage.....Elvis remains the sexiest, most primal, most dangerous Rocker/rockabilly of all time....have you heard the news?

    THERE'S GOOD ROCKIN' TONIGHT!!!!!

    thank you for this video

  • I'm glad you like it. You are very welcome. ELVIS FOREVER

  • Your still rocking my son.

  • I love Elvis's music when he first started out in the mid 50's ......his music had so much energy and it just seemed like it would of been just way too cool to see him perform it live in person!!......too bad im only 23 and couldn't see that then lol....oh well!

  • Look out memphis here comes old Eddie..........R&R

  • We will never have someone like him! :(

    I love it....this song, this man...very nice

  • I will have to go one day to Memphis and drive around in a Cadillac with THE KING at full volume on the radio!a dream come true;)

  • its such a shamee!!

we dont have music like this any more

elvis was soo awsomee , and i would of loved to have seen him livee

  • Whenever this beautiful man was around there was always good rockin to be had!! GREAT vid and song!! 5X5 stars!

    RIP sweet El.

  • what has happened to music its gone from people who can sing and were great at it (Elvis, Michael Jackson, Kiss) to computers oh wait um people who cant hold a candle to anyone from the 50's to the 90's

  • This is timeless. Nothing has ever topped this sound. Go Cat!!!

  • They didn't call him The King for nothing!!!

  • Great! The accompaniment ain't bad either. Raw sound!

  • love it

  • AMAZING!!!!!! JAckie u never replied to my pm??

  • He is A really amazing singer.

  • It was released on The Complete Sun Sessions, A Date With Elvis, Elvis: The Hillbilly Cat LPs, and is now available on The King of Rock n Roll-The Complete 50s Masters, The Sun Sessions CD, and Artist of the Century, which is where this version is from.

  • Written by Roy Brown. Elvis recorded it on September 10, 1954 at Sun Records with Scotty Moore and Bill Black. It was part of Elviss concert repertoire for the next few years. It was the A-side to I Dont Care If The Sun Dont Shine and was released in both 78 RPM and 45 RMP versions.

  • This is yet another example on why Elvis will always be the one and only "King Of Rock 'N' Roll". 10 Stars as always Jackie.
