Mine is too little to not make baby sounds. He seems to know when I am leaving in the morning. I don't have a set routine, but he somehow knows. He'll growl and watch me leave. When he is older, he may start to annoucement my leaving.
I used to have a pet galah (Australian Bird) who thought Mum was his mate. She would let him out in the house every morning and would give her a cuddle when she put him away. However if she got changed first - he would bite her - he didnt like her going out
LOL - if I could get away with it, I would take him to work with me!!! Could you imagine the sight at Foxwoods? LMAO!! I think some Pit Boss might write me up for that though... :D
Aww - don't be sad! He's outgrowing the separation anxiety, and getting better at just saying "Bye-bye! Bye-bye!" with a few kisses, now! (Like a pre-schooler!) LOL! :)
My dads Grey Lucy does this too when she's on his shoulder. Her wings get soooo heavy and she squeaks just like that and tries to look as pathetic as possible because she knows he's the boss. Heh :) I think she just likes to suck up to him because she stops soon afterwards once he puts her back in her cage. Might be a maternal instinct thing since he feeds her the most.
But it is so sweet to see how much he loves his mommy. What does he do all day when you are gone? Have you ever set up a hidden camera? I'd LOVE to see that!!!!
Actually, I work nights, and he spends his evenings with my sons and grandkids. He usually stays up pretty late - we're all a bunch of night owls! My 2 days off are weekdays, and he just hangs around me those days. The weekends he has the rest of the family to hang out with - and the one or two days no one else is around, he very politely sits and watches me sleep! If the alarm goes off though, or he even sees me open one eye - it's all over! He'll sidle over and nibble at my toes till I get up!
This makes me want to cry

I know - and it is so cool! In some ways, that is... but I still feel bad about it! :(
All my kids are grown... so I thought I was done with all that!
Potential Bird Owners - Beware! Don't even consider it, if you are not prepared - it is just like having another kid... :D
