I watched this at my school, and I cried during the funeral. But I don't like the way that they automatically assume that all young people listen to rap. I don't, and neither do any of my friends, so wouldn't it have made more sense to make a music video with a band whose lyrics people can actually understand?

I think that by using a rap artist the Police are directly targeting a specific demographic of kids. A lot of gang culture is directly linked to rap music, hence the choice.

I can't see gangs of kids who listen to indie or rock music walking round with knives causing trouble.
