@Krystinell dry skin doesnt mean that acrylics are toxic. if you clean your fingers, its recommendable to cream them afterwards.
in my experience its not good to use slow drying gel so massively. the surface gets supersaturated with binder, and clear strokes are getting difficult to achieve.
try distilled water and surfactant, they are cheaper, and the surface stays absorbent.
Yes of course you can dilute the mediums, however I use a small amount at full strength. You need to test them out for different effects

in art school i was taught to dilute all of my mediums by 40%-50% with distilled water.

oh, i wash as well as soon as i finish. i thought that was understood :) but still... it damages my skin very badly. am i an exception?

using your fingers is a very bad advice, since acrylics are toxic and damage your skin!

@Krystinell thats not true. but acrylics are susceptible to fat, so painting with fingers is still not a really good idea.
