Regardless of how people may or may not view the homeless, these people have every day at their disposal just like everyone else. I don't know whether this gentleman got to where he is today through crack cocaine or vice versa, but what I do know is no one is stopping him from helping himself. You can't help someone else until you help yourself. Everything starts with yourself.

The 'homeless man' is not asking to be given "a chunk of land". He's asking to be given the OPPORTUNITY to work towards earning "a chunk of land".

When life becomes so desperate that one no longer has hope, he or she punishes themselves, perhaps hoping it will end their life & the misery. Is recovery easy or 'over-night' for them? Of course not. But that first flicker of hope is the beginning, and as that flame grows, the chance of success becomes reachable....because they WANT it.

Having worked for years with people like this I can tell you the practical recidivism rate is almost 100%. I am in favor of what he wants. Lets take all the OWS folks give them a chunk of land and see just how well they manage it. When it falls apart can we then put this progressive crap to bed?
